The Springhill Suites is a hidden gym in downtown Athens. The hotel has a great complementary breakfast and a very lively bar area in the evenings with great drinks. During my stay, I met two of the happiest Marriott employees that I have ever encountered in all of my travels, Erin and Hollie. They made me feel extremely valued as a lifetime Titanium Elite member and provided excellent customer service. These two should definitely make a career change to become customer service trainers!

The side table drawer would not stay in. If you closed it, it would roll out. The TV wall had terrible stains & the toilet broke but engineering did come quickly in the evening to fix it.

By far the best hotel in athens! The rooms and common areas are always extremely clean. Rooms are very spacious and the decor is tasteful to UGA. Extremely close to campus and helpful employees. This is always the first choice for me!

First, this place is ALWAYS clean and well kept. Second, the staff here ( especially the front desk ) are AMAZING!! They are Knowledgeable, caring, funny, understanding and care about every guest. Whether you're a local or someone that regularly stops by for the holidays or football season, the front desk knows who you are and will welcome you with a smile and talks to you as if they've known you for a while.

The room was beautiful and clean with a great view from the 7th floor. I liked the hidden refrigerator and microwave. I was thrilled that the thermostat on the wall actually worked. I'll be back! Great location.

I personally did not stay in a hotel room, but I wanted to write a review about the service. We recently did a rather large and confusing room block with Springhill Suites and their sister hotel, Holiday Inn Express. The rooms/check out dates were constantly changing and the staff were very understanding and their communication was outstanding. Anna and Kim are a pleasure to work with and highly recommend this hotel for any large group blocks. Thank you!

Stayed here a few weeks ago. I was placed in a room that was not clean and not set up for a check in. There was a floss pin in the bathroom, long hairs right when you walk into the bathroom, the extra blanket/pillow were not bagged and just sloppily sitting on the AC unit. There was no soap at the sink. The staff and manager were dismissive and no offer to comp the stay at any level. So disgusted and disappointed!

My stay was during the power outage that took out electricity for multiple days for over 160K households.I showed up to the Springhill staff politely stressing out over how to take care of guests when the rooms were dark and only the bar could stay open. They were writing everything down on paper. At this point, I had just flown in and only had a sad airport salad all day. It wasn't much, but it was a lot: they let me raid the snacks. No money changed hands. The power did not come back on until the morning that I checked out, but the staff truly made the best of it. They checked in on us, tried to contact everyone to get them moved into different hotels (my phone was turned off. It was a little creepy and humorous when I returned later that night to see I had the parking garage all to myself). They managed to set out a breakfast! It's easy to be gracious and professional when everything is working right. These humans maintained all the graciousness and professionalism you'd expect from a hotel staff while the dark and facing a problem that was both out of their hands and they were responsible for addressing.
