I went in for an eye exam at pearl vision, at the georgia mall. The eye exam was fine. My experience with the people with the frames and lenses were less so.I was unhappy with my decision and called the next morning to cancel. I was told I could not do so. I asked to speak with the manager. I was told she was out sick. Given that there was a two week turn around for my lenses, it seemed unlikely my order was irreversable. I will NEVER go back to this place of business again.

The doctor is very professional. The part that I do not like is it is a month out and I haven’t gotten a call that my glasses were ready for pick up, so I decided to call them and they proceeded to tell me when they called but they said my phone didn’t ring but they never called back to give it another try or leave a voicemail. So if I didn’t call my glasses would have been sitting up there for who knows how long. The staff should have tried again because my phone was working for everyone else calls. I paid for my glasses they shouldn’t have been sitting up there for a month and they didn’t call me again to let me know they have my glasses.

Girls working out front really suck. Amber is the only good one. Customer service is as bad as it can get. For this reason I will no longer be using pearl vision in Athens.

HORRIBLE customer service! Called and made an appointment for the following day, show up early and they have no record of my appointment. Great. So I wait over an hour for their next available. Front desk person is rude and disrespectful. Can't get my trial contacts that day of course, have to come back next week and get them. Great. I do that. Then another week. It's just ridiculous the amount of time I've had to waste for a simple prescription. Was sitting waiting to be seen yet again and the front desk women were there mocking customers and belittling them. Will be calling corporate about this experience and letting them know how those who represent their brand are treating people. The doctor herself is not the issue but everyone on her staffing is.

Long post coming, but in summary: AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Here's my situation. I am a long-time customer at this Pearle store, primarily because it was covered by EyeMed and the location was convenient. When I went in for my annual exam in March Dr. Casselberry informed me I had cataracts and provided a referral to an ophthalmologist to have those corrected. At the time she said she would write a glasses prescription based on my vision at that point in time, but when I had my cataracts removed to return and she would write a contacts prescription. However, Pearle filed a claim with EyeMed that said they had completed both exams/prescriptions (even though they had not). Subsequently, I had a cataract surgery in May and again in June. My vision is now remarkably better but still could use some correction, so I called the store today to schedule that follow-up exam for my contacts prescription. After initially explaining my situation, I was put on a long hold and eventually disconnected. So I called back and again explained my situation. They refused to honor their earlier word for providing an updated prescription, saying they would now release a prescription they wrote during the original examination. After I tried to explain to the young lady that my vision is not the same as that time, she AMAZINGLY said (true quote here): "Sir, just because you have cataract surgery doesn't mean your vision changes." I guess someone needs to tell my lying eyes that, because my vision now is almost miraculously better. I was promised a prescription based on my post-surgical results and this, as an earlier reviewer stated, is a blatant money grab. I'm going to contact EyeMed now to report insurance fraud, because they did not provide the services they claimed by: A) not providing a contact lens prescription at the time of my original exam, and B) refusing to honor their original commitment to provide an updated contacts prescription after surgery. I was told verbatim by Dr. Casselberry: "Come back after your surgery and I'll give you your contacts prescription." If the intent was to provide a prescription based on my original exam results, why didn't she release that to me then? They are now simply trying to squeeze me for the cost of an additional out of pocket eye exam for services not originally rendered. If you value your vision, and more importantly back account, STAY AWAY FROM THIS CROOKED PLACE!

Pearle Vision at The Mall of Georgia is a horrible company, and it's customer service sucks! I've been to this establishment twice after paying for an eye exam and a contact exam. When I started having blurred vision due to health issues, I returned to get some assistance. All they care about is money!!! Pay again for this and more money for that! No one ever said let's check your vision and see what's going on...nothing! They did not try to help but stated that my insurance had already been used. I told them not to worry about the money, but I wanted to be able to see! I was willing to pay out of pocket! When I asked what am I supposed to do about seeing, I was told, she did not know. I despise this place and will never use them again!

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is laughable and will call you and lie straight to you. I had an appointment scheduled for 3:15pm and drove 30 minutes and right as I arrived they called me and told me that my appointment was scheduled for the following day (which is not correct, I have a screenshot on my phone) and they lied and told me that my “wife” (btw I don’t have a wife) called and rescheduled my exam, which is not true. My mother also came here a year ago and got the wrong prescription from them. If I were you I would honestly go somewhere else. This place is a joke.

I went in for an eye exam and everything was great up until I had to talk to the woman who sold glasses, I think her name was Lea. I have a very comprehensive insurance plan, and we were looking at frames, and all of the sudden she just told me that my insurance wouldn't cover anything because "my prescription wasn't strong enough for them to cover it." I asked her how much it would be without she said about $350. I told her I would go somewhere else for cheaper frames because a lot of the ones at Pearle Vision were on the more expensive side and I wasn't in need of a designer pair of frames. I ended up going to Americas Best to ask about my insurance and they told me that my insurance would absolutely cover my prescription and she didn't understand what PV was talking about. I called Lea back to ask for a certain part of my prescription she didn't write down so I could give it to the people at America's Best. She kept saying "oh I can knock it down to $250." I told her I still wanted to look around more. We went around in circles about 3 times before she told me she could knock it down to $190. They absolutely were trying to scam me. It felt just like trying to buy a car. She was pushy and why was she trying to charge me $350 if she could get them to me for $190? The whole situation was weird and they were all very unprofessional - running around confused, trying to make me pay hundreds more for one pair of frames, just don't come here. No one knew what they were doing. I'm not generally a bad review kind of person but god forbid someone's grandma come in the store and get scammed or ripped off like this woman was trying to do to me.

After searching from store to store, and online, my husband was able to walk right in to Pearl Vision Center and find a great frame that fit his face. Customer service was great in helping us. Thanks Pearl Vision.

Lifelong glasses wearer - my second year getting my annual eye exam and glasses update. Dr Castleberry is excellent and made challenging prescription comparisons easy. Explained my retinal perfectly too. Frame-end staff are always helpful, welcoming and knowledgeable and have saved me multiple times with emergency repairs. Can recommend!
