Okay, five stars is admittedly on the high side but bread basket is where I learned about pork tenderloin biscuits with gravy and for this they deserve five stars.... I always try to grab a biscuit here when I come back to town for any reason. I like this place for all it is, a hole in the wall, home town feeling, laid back joint. I always seem to be headed somewhere and never sit to eat but you can and I imagine you will be entertained.

Great local greasy spoon. One of earth's last bastions of the elusive "cat head" biscuits. Top it off with friendly, down to earth staff and it is all a recipe for can't miss. Tenderloin, fried egg, and hoop cheddar -- off the chain! 'Nuff said.

Best breakfast biscuits in Athens!

If you're looking for a good, hearty breakfast with big "cat head" biscuits, look no further. This place located inside the chevron chase street will be sure to fill your morning appetite. My go to is the bacon egg and cheese biscuit (scrambled). There is plenty to fill the emptiest of stomachs and it's just what I'm looking for when I want a good filling breakfast. Lines can get long during busy times, but it usually moves pretty fast. You can sit and eat if you like, but seating is limited to only a few booths. This is definitely more of a grab and go place for breakfast. The ladies are polite and when I request a "brown" biscuit, they are more than happy to oblige. In addition to a great BEC biscuit, you can get tenderloin, chicken, sausage, smoke link, bologna, fat back, grits, gravy, toast, and other items. They also serve lunch, although I've never been for that.

They have awesome biscuits and even better tenderloin biscuits. I always think about them on the weekends... because they are not open then and I will have to wait until Monday. They are well worth the wait!

Every person from Athens knows this is the best biscuit in town. Pork chop plate for lunch ain't bad either.

Best biscuit in Athens. Possibly the world. And I LOVE the fact that most people don't know about them. You can't make this trip everyday but when you do, go all in. Ask them to take a chicken breast (or tenderloin if you prefer) and dunk it in the white gravy. They'll then place this fried deliciousness on a homemade biscuit and wrap it in foil so it stays warm until you get home. As good as it gets. Don't thank me. Just go get one and eat vegetables for the rest of week to make up for it!

Fantastic breakfast biscuits. I wouldn't get chicken again as it was dry but any other way was raved about by everyone that had one.

One of the best breakfast biscuits around. A hidden gem. I always get the bacon, scrambled egg, and cheese biscuit. If you aren't counting calories for the day you need to give it a try. It's inside a gas station so don't expect fancy. On par with Strickland's (better for sitting down) and AJ's (also in a gas station).

I can not believe nobody wrote a review about this place yet... it is really good for breakfast. It is located in a gas station, so maybe it is not easy to find... but one thing I notice in Athens is that the best places to eat are not in "regular" locations (like White Tiger and Senor Sol). As I mentioned above, the breakfast here is really good. You can get fresh out of the oven "very buttery" biscuits with anything on it... from sausage, ham, steak, tenderloin, gravy, eggs, etc. Being a "southern breakfast place" of course they needed to have grits!!!. It is so good, you want to eat two sandwiches (overall with those prices), but I doubt you could. The personnel attending are very friendly and willing to answer any question you have, I am from the North East so it was not easy to understand "Southernish"... ha ha ha :) If you go between 6:30 am and 8:30 am, I am sure you will find a line; so go with enough time if you need to go to work after eating there. Go and try it... you will not regret!.
