I had Carmax ship the vehicle I wanted from Texas at a cost of $250, which was reasonable. Overall the vehicle.was in good.shape, but the tires were old (actually visably cracking) and worn out. Sales person and manager said the tires met " Car Max Standards." (round and at one time made.of rubber i guess). I asked for a discount for tire replacement but they said they would have them replaced and said they would.have new name brand (they actually said Michelins, or.similar which eased my mind at the time) installed by the time we come back to finalize and take.the vehicle home. 3 days later when we come to take delivery, they have put the cheapest possible chinese knock-off generic name tires on the vehicle. I was upset about their "bait and switch" tactics. The salesperson and manager, which were different people than who we than dealt with 3 days earlier, were quick to point out that the new cheap tires met "
Carmax standards" and asked if wanted to look for another vehicle instead of finishing the purchase of the one we were set to buy.
Be careful dealing with the these folks.

Got online offer. Ended up being the same after taking in person to review. Was helped by Adarius, who was friendly and quick to get through the process of getting me a check.

i’ll go ahead and start with saying my wife works in a dealer ship , yet i chose carmax . I used to sell cars at toyota and i know how difficult the car buying process can be . Rather it’s credit related , specific vehicle search , all of it can be an absolute hassle . Yet i’m more than beyond impressed , from every sales person i spoke with . Lashondra , shawn , chris and aj / anthony . all made the car buying experience the easiest thing i’ve done in my life , BESIDES giving my life to Christ . I left the dealership due to feeling conviction by taking advantage of others for my own commission, yet not one person at carmax made me feel like i was just their pay check. The genuine concern , honest responses , and going out of their way to have the car ready upon arrival . Never would i think you could buy a car online , get financing & only spend 10 minutes inside the dealership.
If i ever sold cars again , it would be here due to honest approach , high level of professionalism, and genuine dedication to make a deal .
beyond that , i got a STEAL on a beautiful G37 . I take no credit for this vehicle .

the worst experience I have ever had, never knew so many idiots could work in one place, bought a car and 12 days later I still don't have it, it's still in the shop, drove it one day!

Excellent customer service! There was no pressure in the purchase of my new car! I appreciated the kindness I recieved and concern for my situation as my car had caught on fire and I was unexpectedly looking to replace a car very quickly.
They worked with my credit union to close the sale. I will be a repeat customer! 10 Gold stars!

I cannot overstate how great my experience was at this CarMax. All employees there were incredibly patient and eager to help. Love the laid back atmosphere versus other dealerships where it's all about the sale at any cost. Took up their time for two days, bought a car and returned it the same day with no hint of frustration from the employees who helped me with the purchase in the first place. They even were gracious enough to help my wife and I look up other cars at the Buford location. I will definitely be back to these guys in the future. Mr. J.C. Penny was right when he said "Folks may not remember who you are, but they will always remember how you made them feel". And the CarMax folks definitely made us feel special.
