8 days. - August 2023 experience
That is how long my son lasted at this center before we were told that we needed to find other care. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
My son started at ATP and like any 2-year old in a new environment, he cried and struggled with the transition. We expected this and thought it might take some time for him to get used to the new routines, new classroom, new teachers, and new friends.
We received a call on the Wednesday of the 2nd week of him being there and were told that he had a fever and needed to be picked up. We were also informed that if he continued to cry that his last day would be Friday.
ATP has an illness policy that a child needs to be fever-free and symptom free for 72 hours before returning to the center. How can you send my kid home sick on a Wednesday and tell me that he is out by Friday when that does not even allow for the 72-hour period to pass?
As a parent, I was stunned that this place gave up on a 2-year old after only 8 days and gave us little to no warning that we would no longer have childcare in 48 hours. All my son did was cry because he was in a new setting and then we found out he had an ear infection. We never got any reports that he had hit anybody or broken any rules or anything. We were just completely blindsided by this.
When I asked where the policy was that stated that a child could be kicked out of the center for crying, I was told that there was no policy violation but that "it wasn't a good fit". I have worked in education for over 15 years and I was stunned to hear how callous and dismissive this location could be of a 2-year-old transitioning to a new center.
Later on, I learned that other people also had their kids dismissed from ATP with little to no explanation and one was even told that ATP was there to be a business and that they were not there to deal with any difficult cases. I guess my family was another casualty of a corporate mindset and new leadership.

I just want to add that I love new management. I can tell that it has been hard for teachers to adjust to new rules. There are some amazing teachers here and the management has been amazing, both old and new. And no I’m not being paid to give a review but it is a common business practice. I highly recommend this school!

I heard the parents are getting discounts to leave good reviews . This is a horrible place for employees and kids I have a fake name on this review or else they’d harass me . Do not recommend for kids or work

Writing this as a parent, I like Apple Tree. The teachers (past and present) have been lovely. My kids enjoy going there and I love that the teachers and staff know my kids by name and are greeted every morning with a smile. I understand that there are some kinks to work out with new management (like any business), but so far we've had a good experience here.

I love this place. The teachers work so hard and are very kind. I feel so welcomed every morning I drop my child off for care. They are very proactive and are invested in my child's development. I do not think this place is absolutely perfect, but I don't think that is a realistic expectation. However, I can tell that although management has changed, it appears to me that they are working on better communication and are honestly trying to make things better. I recommend this daycare to anyone who is looking for care for their child.

This was an amazing environment until the new director ( Susan ) came . After the assistant director of 20 years left the daycare, it took a turn for the worse . The new director didn’t care about the employees nor would they administer bathroom breaks but instead would give attitudes to the employees when asking the simplest questions . They would also leave us out of ratio for a long duration of time . They didn’t care when employees nor children were leaving the facility.

I was an employee for 2 years. New management came into play and everything quickly changed for the worse. It was a great environment for kids and employees but things took a wrong turn. Bad Communication and children weren't getting the care they deserve.

We move a lot. This was our 2nd daycare and now we are on number 4 daycare due to moves.By far I can tell you this was the best school our kids attended to... The teachers are great and we really missed that school after having a few daycares to compare....Keep up with the good Work! Cheers, Matt

Wouldn’t bring my kids here ??Thankful my niece wasn’t harmed because the staff is told not to notify guardians for the sake of “confidentiality” give me a break. This place should’ve been sued ages ago

Edit: after getting a new director, several staff members quit. The Seedling room was particularly affected. Several infants, mine included, had either one or all of their bottles skipped. If your child is in or is being placed in that room, be forewarned. As a new mom, it was really scary trying to identify a Daycare that was affordable and you could trust. The team at ATP has been so wonderful. I give them credit for all of the skills my now 1-year old has learned. They are terrific communicators and have helped us so much this first year.

My daughter has been attending Apple Tree Prep for the last five months in one of their toddler classrooms. When I drop her off in the morning, I am confident in her safety and happiness. I was pleasantly surprised at how structured and developmentally appropriate the classrooms were. The first time I saw my free-spirited two-year-old sitting at a table working on an art activity, my jaw dropped. It's obvious that the teachers love what they're doing and I am always greeted with positivity when I enter the building. Their building administration has been wonderful as well. I am kept informed of any events or changes and they reach out to check on my girl when she's not feeling her best. Such a great place! We are so grateful to be a part of the ATP family.

My son just started going to Apple Tree Prep about a month ago, but it has been wonderful so far. Debra is so kind and is always trying to help. As a parent, it is so so important to trust who you are leaving your little one with, and I trust Apple Tree Prep teachers 1000%. My son is always having a great time playing when I pick him up, and I can tell the teachers work hard to care for the kids! Glad we found Apple Tree Prep- it is a hidden gem in Athens. :)

I like Apple Tree Prep. The teachers and staffs here are very friendly and professional. This is my daughter's first daycare. On the first day I sent her to daycare, she cried a lot when I left, but after two days, she stopped crying and quickly got used to it. Now my daughter is happy to go to daycare every day. I'm very grateful to the kindergarten for letting my daughter go through this transition smoothly.

We have been at Apple Tree for 3+ year and it has been fantastic. Administrators, Debra and Sabrina have been amazing in keeping this school in top notch condition. The staff is also very stable, with very little turnover similar to many other facilities!

I LOVE Appletree Prep. The Admin as well as the teachers are very caring and loving towards all students. When you walk in its always a warm welcome . They form relationships with each students and know all students by name. It's more like a family then anything. My child has learned so much emotionally, and academically. She hates missing school. Also loves to talk about her day until its time for bed.
