Everyone at AWC, from the receptionist to the vet techs to the doctors, is so welcoming and wonderful. Dr. Dodd is an amazing doctor - compassionate, knowledgeable, thorough and takes the time to listen. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend AWC and Dr. Dodd to anyone.

Dr. Dodd has gone above & beyond in providing knowledgeable and professional care to my animals for years. She and her staff gave me the needed information & support so that my cat could live to 19 despite several major health issues. They are also the reason that my oldest dog is still enjoying life at 17 despite his long-term health challenges. I am so grateful for all of the people at AWC - I know that every one my pets can have the best of care throughout their lives.

I took my dog to Dr. Dodd at Animal Wellness Center (112 Athens W. Pkwy. Ste F, Athens, GA 30606) on 7/22/2024 due to him (Jack) not eating and he was showing signs of pain in his hips and a slight cough. He was a 12 yr./5 months old Shetland Sheep dog. Angela asked me did I consent to an X-ray as she thought she felt something in his abdomen. I agreed to the X-ray, but she took him back and without my permission, did a full blood work-up and heart -worm test including the X-ray. She sent us home with multiple medications and told me to take him to Woodlands for an Ultrasound test. The ladies at that practice were friends of hers from vet school. I'm suspecting there was a referral fee involved. I was unable to get AWC to prescribe a different medicine to encourage his appetite that was not liquid (he was not tolerating it), so I took him to another vet. Dr. Vincent Smith on 8/07/2024 @ (Athens Regional Veterinary Svc., ) Dr. Smith looked at the X-rays and blood work and told me my dog's BUN level was off the chart and he was in renal failure. He also said he had a tumor in his stomach (most likely) cancer which is why he would not eat and his spine showed multiple areas of fused vertebrae which would explain why he was unsteady and unable to get his legs up under him. My dog had lost 5 lbs. and was in starvation mode and severe pain and Angela did not tell me this even though it was on his blood work and x-rays. The medicine she prescribed, the blood work, the heart- worm test was all fraudulent billing as he was clearly dying and she should have told me on that visit 7/22/2024. Dr. Smith euthanized Jack 8/07/24. People have told me they have had similar experiences. This has to stop. I asked Animal Wellness for a partial refund, but they declined. This is no longer about the money, it is about ethics and fraud in veterinary medicine.

The entire staff from reception to the doctors are wonderful. They are always so welcoming and take great care of our young dog. The doctor always takes the time to listen when I have questions or concerns to help determine the best course of action. I would recommend this vet practice to anyone looking for care for their pets.

I absolutely love this vet. Dr Dodd is amazing and our vet tech was too! They explain everything really well and showed me pricing options before they did anything. I highly recommend this place :)

Our dogs LOVE their visits! Always goes in wagging and leaves wagging. Everyone there is super nice and treats our puppers so well. They go in every six months for grooming and nails and flea meds. No discrimination because they're part pitty.

This vet has been THE BEST vet I have ever been to. I found out I had to put my 18 year old dog down and I was treated with such kindness. And my sweet baby was taken care of like she was their own. I really appreciate how easy they made the whole situation. I would give them 10 stars if I could!
