“The price was right, however, the place seemed deserted. I found out why. I got to the room and none of the lights worked. The sink drain was clogged and the refrigerator was leaking on the floor. I went to Wal-Mart and bought light bulbs, a mop and drain opener and got everything working. I had to mop the floor twice because there was so much grime on it. I wouldn't recommend this place.”
“Not closed - rebranded. In December 2022, the hotel switched from Best Western to Choice's Ascend collection. We continue to stay every January on our anniversary. She's a little shabby in spots, but still a grand dame of a building. There is a lot of the original architecture left. Oak and tile everywhere. Service is friendly. The rates are moderate, if you choose your dates carefully. Their bar and restaurant are easily the best places for a drink and a meal in Americus. Supposedly haunted but we've yet to encounter anything scarier than an empty hallway. I hope someone can fix the title of this Yelp listing. I'd hate to think anyone avoided it based on the "Closed" title.”
