I have been buying Orvis products for over 40 years and most of my wardrobe, outdoor gear fishing equipment are from Orvis retail stores all over the United States. Their products are classic, top quality and last for years. In all those years I have never returned any items. However, now that my wife and I have retired to an island off of Belize it's difficult to acquire Orvis products until we come back to states. (El Pescador fly fishing resort down the beach from us carries some Orvis products but can't facilitate returns). In any event, upon our temporary return trip to States in September, '24 my wife was reluctantly forced to return her Lightweight Wading jacket that failed in its water resistance after a couple of fly fishing seasons. The store personnel were extremely helpful in the exchange protocol and as advertised, Orvis exchanged the jacket for the new and improved Lightweight Wading jacket with no questions. My wife even offered to pay for the difference in price for the newer jacket version but was told it would be an even exchange. Again, another reason to purchase from Orvis; you get what you pay for in its products and service.

Unfortunately we were spoken to very unprofessionally by the store manager Amy at the Avalon Orvis location.
Even after calling ahead & speaking w/her about a return that she offered to honor even though it had been past the normal return date policy . (Which was very appreciated)
Amy came out of the back room with an attitude and tried to change her story from the earlier phone conversation.
We drove 45 mins to the store to be treated with an immediate argumentative tone.
We will not shop this location again..

The sales person was helpful in assisting me find some fishing waders that fit me and my usage, without being pushy. Definitely recommend.

If there were 7 stars, I would award that. The staff in the store is amazing. Noah, the fishing manager was fantastic. Caring and knowledgeable and helping me reacquire my flyfishing hobby.
