My experience at the Aikido Association of Atlanta has been nothing short of exceptional. The many instructors are highly qualified and skilled, making learning the art of Aikido both effective and enjoyable. Safety is a top priority, and the dojo provides a welcoming and supportive environment for students of all levels, where everyone feels like family, even newcomers. My family and I are proud to be members, and we look forward to continuing our Aikido journey here for a lifetime.

This is a wonderful school, and I can't recommend them any higher. Very welcoming overall, teachers are knowledgeable, and the other students are just as helpful. Come by and give it a try!

My son has absolutely thrived here. I can’t say enough how kind and supportive everyone is, and how much they have helped him develop self-confidence and inner strength during his two years at this dojo.

Whatever your quests are on your Way, Senseis and students in this dojo will help you discover and study them. This is a great and safe learning environment where students are encouraged and challenged to do their best, find their own limits and go beyond them. I have been training here for a year and love every day of it!

Ever since joining this school 9 months back, I have enjoyed training here. The teachers are not only highly qualified and capable, their empathy with students makes learning and understanding this subtle art fun as well as effective. Everyone here has a helpful and supportive attitude. Having studied martial arts for many years, I can confidently assert that training here is well worth one's time and effort - do give it a try!

I started to train at this dojo exactly 10 years ago, and loved it from the first day I stepped onto the mat. I don't like exercise, so I was looking for an exercise that would be fun enough to do, and finally found aikido. The people at the dojo were welcoming, and the training is non-agressive, so I can do it as I age into my 70s and beyond. It has the added benefit of providing evidence-based dementia prevention in the form of learning new forms of connecting body and mind. When I had to move to Canada in 2018 I did continue training there, but I come home to Kyushinkan as often as I can.

Love this school!! I studied Aikido here in 2016 and then came back last year, after COVID, to study Iaido. Instructors in both arts are absolutely first class and everyone is so welcoming. Even the people in another class, that I don't know, always smile and say hello - it's just that kind of place. This is a serious martial arts school, but all the instructors and senior students have been very patient and kind as I slowly try to get back up to speed and back in shape. The classes are not only led by high ranking instructors, but there are also many standing next to you and participating in the classes. Both times I've been to this school, instructors next to me would spend up to half the class patiently helping me understand techniques or how I can improve. Thank you!I drive for over 45 minutes early Saturday morning just to go to this specific school (some people in my class drive much further...). If you think you might be interested in studying these arts, and you're looking for authentic and caring instructors, come by and talk to these folks.

As a practicing Aikidoka, I had the privilege of training in dojos in the US, UK, Japan, Lebanon, and Poland. While every single one of them has talented teachers & dedicated students, this folks at this dojo are unique in its depth of understanding of the art and acceptance of individuals wishing to grow. Make it a stop on your journey.

Aikido enables me to have a deeper understanding of my strengths and weaknesses both physical and mental. Our dojo is fortunate to have many black belts/instructors who have provided me with individualized instruction.

I started practicing Iaido here last year. 8 months later, I am still enjoying the martial art. This has been a great dojo, with a lot of friendly members. The best part about going here is that everyone wants you to succeed. From the newest member to the oldest, everyone has been helpful. Before starting Iaido, I had never done a martial art, so it was a relief when I found this dojo. This has been one of my best decisions and has helped me grow.I would highly recommend.

I didn't intend to chime in, but since the owner decided to publish a response imputing my wife's motivation (incorrectly), I will say that I concur with my wife. For the record, she had been left with a speech impediment due to a medical treatment (I say this with her permission, unlike the "owner" who has no permission to divulge medical information), and the primary reason for our visit was to gauge what reactions she could expect in that environment. The verbal and nonverbal cues that we observed (a strange reaction to a request that throat punches be avoided is among them) were problematic in our judgement. She had no adverse reaction to a concern about students' safety - I won't go into details here but I concur with her assessment of that interaction.

We visited to assess the attitudes and sense of energy of the dojo, as years ago we were students at the original location. At the time, the dojo was welcoming if a little mired in internal politics. Now, much has changed. I can't speak to whether their internal problems have been put behind but I met with arrogance and assumptions, and frankly felt insulted by the condescension of one of the dojo leaders. We no longer have any inclination to enter those doors again.Life is to short to put up with extraneous nonsense. Do yourself a favor and explore alternatives.

I recently started practicing Aikido here last year. Having never practiced a martial art it was a pretty daunting task but everyone at the dojo has been very helpful and welcoming. You meet people from all walks of life and every age group. My husband even started practicing Iaido here when he saw how much I was enjoying Aikido. Would highly recommend, its one of the hardest things I've ever done, but also one of the most rewarding.
