Before moving to Albany in the early 90’s, I contacted the local veterinarian offices at that time with this question, “I will need a veterinarian that can care for my pets which included several kinds of finches(birds), chinchillas, and a duck that I had incubated and watched her break out of her shell. Would your office be able to treat these animals?” I received the answer “No” from all but Westover Animal Hospital, instead I was put on hold and quickly Dr. Henry Hart, DVM picked up and proceeded to talk to me about my pets and said he would take us on. Taking time out of his schedule to talk to me right then and there, said it all….. this was the place for my pets. For 30+ years Dr. Hart, Dr. Hunkele, Dr. Newell, Dr.Cook, a few others over the years have taken excellent care, whether it be for emergency situations such as my dog being attacked by an owl or the accidental injury from a horse, to teeth cleaning and spay/neuter. I could not ask for more caring veterinarians. The office staff has always been amazing especially Jamie ….. she has been there for every pet or wild critter I have brought in, feels like we are family!!
I and my pets could not be happier than I have been all these years with Westover Animal Hospital!!!!!

My animals, past and present, have a been patients at Westover Animal Hospital for many years! Dr. Hart, Dr. Hunkele, and all the docs have treated my dogs and me with the greatest care and compassion. Jamie and the office staff are wonderful! The animal support staff are so kind and caring, too! Other offices/businesses could learn from this group! Thank you so much!❤️
