Audi A6 2.0T - Paper towel shredded in turbocharger system (id10T error) Cleaned all affected system components myself after sky high estimate from another "brothers" owned shop. Car ran a little rough and had some paper burning smell so I called North Georgia Automotive to start quoting more 2nd opinions. TLDR: Will use again knowing Shawn was more than fairly priced and considerate.
Shawn took my call while he was with his family at the airport waiting to leave for a well needed vacation. He graciously listened to my car repair situation, provided a competitive ballpark estimate, and promised to look at the car once he got back. I was given very high estimates by the first shop that were either meant to scare me away or go up on a board of suckers ;) (I know there are costs to doing business and replacing this turbo is troublesome.)
Shawn's over the phone, worst case scenario estimate, was perfectly in line with the parts and labor reasonably required to clean and replace the turbo related parts for my car. The first shop was charging more to clean charge-pipes than it would cost to replace them. He eased my wariness by confidently providing a cleanout and assess approach and not jumping straight into a parts cannon solution. The first shop did provide a very detailed repair quote with photos and line items that would have tipped the scales toward repair if the estimate was reasonable. They also offered additional services that were needed but priced way too high. Of course you can guarantee your work if you charge double up front.
Ultimately, Shawn inspected and ran the car and could not find anything wrong with my "repair." He thanked me for giving him enough time to assess the smell and look over my attempt to remove all paper towel remnants. He said the car was ready to pick up and that next time I need to bring him something he can fix!
I am so grateful for the approach he took with our car repair. I made a mindless error while replacing the engine air filter that ended up costing me a "premium diagnostic" fee from the first shop, a cheap endoscope, two coolant return lines that crumbled while cleaning out the system, and sleep.
I highly recommend Shawn for his genuine nature and willingness to help. I heard him on the phone telling a customer that they could buy a new engine but that that would be cost prohibitive. He offered to look for a used one or even buy an entire scrapped car and pull and replace the engine for less. He's not afraid of finding solutions that fit the customers needs. Shawn runs a genuine repair shop. He's got a lot full of cars and little room to park. He's busy but he will take time to talk to you and keep it real. I read some reviews that say his techs leave grime in the vehicle and I agree. An easily solved issue on Shawn's end. I was willing to clean my door sills in this case.
If you're thinking about going to a Brothers owned shop to experience Christian values, call Shawn at North Georgia Automotive first. I expect he will treat you fair and, as in my case, give you more than you pay for.

I am completely satisfied after bringing my new EV to this owners’ shop for a pre-inspection. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He was very informative regarding proper care of EVs. His prices as well were the most affordable! I wouldn’t go anywhere else with my vehicle! He has helped educate me on EVs and my car is still in great condition!

Reasonably priced, very responsive, honest, and above all else did the job right. Put in a new clutch and flywheel. He didn't try to steer me to a more expensive product even though I was willing too. Need more mechanics like this!

Perhaps this shop can change oil and tires. But I hired them to rebuild an 88 suburban. New engine and suspension tires etc. efi system. what was returned to me was unsafe. Steering was like a clown car. Steer left it goes right etc. they kept the old push pull steering system on a suburban lifted 6”
the car would barely go up an incline because they never calibrated the efi system.
then today (after a fire in the engine). My new
Mechanic told me this shop… spliced fuels lines together with hose clamps. Not one continuous hose…clamped!! I could go on about how the winch was installed wrong, And my battery was just set in the engine compartment. (No clamps not secured at all). My experience with this shop has been very disappointing. Not only did I overpay more than 10k but my life was put in danger.

I noticed my engine temp jumping up so I decided to have it checked out. I dropped it off at the end of the day Friday and they called me Saturday morning to tell me I needed a new radiator. Not only did they get the entire repair done by the end of the day but the cost was probably about half what I would've paid elsewhere. This is my go to mechanic from now on.

Firstly I would like to say Shawn and the entire staff is amazing! They are super knowledgeable and professional and took great care of my car. My wife and I are a young couple who just bought a used car in February and it broke down completely. Shawn towed our car for free from Christian brothers after they were about to charge us an arm and leg. He was able to diagnose that we would have to replace the engine, head gasket and thermometer. He was super understanding was the price he quoted us was simply a blessing to say the least! The car runs so smooth so far and he will check on it in 2 weeks to make sure it still is. Everything is under warranty and unlike many other car repairing shops, he made us feel very sure about his expertise as well as educating us throughout the process. Thank you Shawn, you have a customer for life! Highly recommend.

I've used this mechanic shop two times: once to have my turbos replaced on my Ford F-150 and second to have my oil leak from Upper cam gaskets or seals whatever replaced and both times I receive the same experience.
it seems as if the owner is a one-man show and he has a lot of work over his head. It really makes it hard for him to communicate with the customer what's going on as far as like keeping them updated.
both situations I had to call the shop several times, about a week or so after the repairs have been initiated and it seems every time the owner was "about to call me" but nevertheless; my last experience was not really too well, because I was charged about $1,000 (which included the tow) and he replaced the seals from the oil leak and the mechanic did NOT bother to do an oil change?
when I got home, I saw my oil was still completely black and you would think that when you do a repair where the oil LEAKED OUT of the vehicle-- an oil change would be included with the repair-- but I guess not.
and not only that; I feel I should have been advised that I may need a engine replacement before spending $1,000
I would have felt a little better making that decision other than knowing that, my engine can still fail on me at any moment, after this repair....but it is what it is.
