My husband and I are patients of Dr. Ortega. We love her! She is thorough, treats you holistically and remembers past visits and what was discussed/recommended. We are so happy to have found her and cannot commend her professionalism and genuine care enough. She also has a great sense of humor and understands her patients individually.

First, this review is NOT a reflection of my doctor. Dr Gilbert is the most amazing doctor I’ve ever been to for anything. That said, when Emory bought out this practice, everything else tanked. I have a high deductible plan (3k) individual and I’m relatively healthy. I usually only need every 6 month prescription renewal visits, but my SELF PAY is 527.00! I just had a sick visit, SELF PAY was 755! I can no longer afford to go here. When people are hurting to afford necessities, Emory seizes on the high deductible band wagon and sticks it to us.

I don’t see a doctor at this location, but my experience with the lab was awesome. My doctors are all downtown and called in labs so it’s so much more convenient for me to go to Acworth than truck it all the way downtown. The front desk staff were great and the actual labs were so quick my infant didn’t even wake up from her nap until after we’d made it all the way home. Will definitely be back.

I've been an on and off patient with this group of doctor's for 20 years or longer....back when they were located in dowtown Kennesaw and called Kennesaw Family Physicians!! I have tried other doctors and practices not because I was unhappy here, it was due to moving or insurance reasons and I always end up coming back here. I love my PCP Dr. Larry Shuler like by far he is one of the most thorough, caring, understanding, sincere, smart, and just a really good doctor. Everyone here is just amazing and they go above and beyond. The only thing I would say that isn't the best is their phone system/service line, but other than that this place is great. I don't really call the phone number much because I have access to everything via MyChart. I can message my doctor or the nurses on it, make appointments, pay my bill, ask for refills, etc so I only use the phone service if it's absolutely necessary. Love being a patient of Emory at Acworth!!!!

I'm not surprised that Dr. Parker is gone. The last time I saw her, I nearly commented about whether she was planning on leaving. I could tell her heart wasn't in it any longer. I've been a patient with this "group" going back to 1983 when we moved back to Georgia. I still miss Dr. Andrews.

I am not one to leave reviews, but this place is so bad I had to. I have been taking a medication for 4 years, every day for twice a day, and my primary care doctor just suddenly stopped working here. No notification from anyone at the office, I just find out when I call to get my prescription renewed. No problem, I call to set up a new patient appointment with a new doctor, this is months before my prescription will run out. The first appointment is available June 13th... I called in April. Fine, they are busy, so I take the appointment. Meanwhile, I am about to run out of medication before this new patient visit. I called THREE DAYS in a row, TWICE a day to see if a nurse or covering doctor would call in just a week's supply of medication to hold me over. I keep getting passed along and told "we have sent a note to the doctor" about the fifth time calling I tell them that I've been told this several times and still my prescription hasn't been filled. I can't just go cold turkey on an anxiety medication I have been taking for so long. I receive nothing but attitude "The doctors have other patients; they'll get to it when they get to it." I mean what the heck?! How is this even allowed?! WORST PLACE EVER. DO NOT GO HERE. THEY ARE HORRIBLE AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU!!!!

Tara D @ the front desk has to be the most helpful and pleasant person that I’ve ever encountered in healthcare offices.

Fabulous staff at this office. The women at check-in/check-out, Dr. Shuler and Takeda, (his nurse), and Milon (the remarkable phlebotomist) deserve special mention. Despite minor scheduling and billing issues, the quality of care is exceptional. Their genuine concern for patients and the impeccable service they deliver truly sets them apart.

I've had the pleasure of being under the care of Michael Shibley, PA, and I can't speak highly enough of him. Unlike any other primary care provider I've encountered, Michael never rushes through appointments. He takes the time to truly listen and discuss options, ensuring I feel heard and informed every step of the way. During my recent visit, he spent a generous 30 minutes with me, strategizing and involving me in the decision-making process. It's refreshing to have a healthcare provider who values patient input and collaborates on a personalized game plan. Michael's dedication to his patients and his exceptional care make him a standout healthcare professional. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate primary care provider.

Telehealth appointment with Dr Shuler today. As usual, he answered all my questions very patiently & made meaningful suggestions for treatments. I never feel like he's trying to push medications on me. He honors my desire to not jump to a new medication. I never feel like he's rushing me even though today I had to be the very last appointment for the day and I had a lot of questions. Thanks Doc!

It has been my knowledge for several years that Emory was one of the best doctors in hospitals in the state of Georgia however I have learned from your doctor and your medications and everything else that they are not the best I keep getting messages that I have an appointment and I don't then your people want to get smart with me because I'm aggravated because you can't do your job your incompetent took me over a month for the doctor to call me back about a pain clinic that is incompetency don't bother me anymore. Emory is supposed to be a good place to go it's also supposed to be a teaching hospital obviously I don't want none of your doctors because you're not teaching them very well this is crazy second month in a row second month your people want to get smart with me because I'm aggravated with the fact you keep sending me appointment schedules that I didn't make with the doctor I didn't even see you need to check on your clinic and act work that's what you need to do because the people don't have a clue

I came to this location for some lab work and everyone was very friendly and helpful! I was able to just drop in with no appointment and was in and out very quickly. The phlebotomist, Milan was excellent! Very grateful to have this location so close to home!

This is not the place you want to use. Find another office. The dr I was seeing is fine but customer service is terrible.

They really need to take dr.Parker off the doctor on call list because she’s completely useless. Did not understand what I was saying kept repeating the wrong information back. (My toddler can repeat what I say back better than she did; very concerning)Complete waste of time. Keep in mind I’ve been coming here 22 years and never really had any issues before.

I love the staff and the doctors. They are very attentive and they listen to your concerns. Would not go anywhere else.
