Hello everyone I am very very disappointed in-this pawn shop!! I bought a hollow Cuban link chain from them for $3,219 that weighted almost 70 g about 4 or 5 months ago. I also bought a few gold/diamond rings from them as well. I only wore the chain once in a while. I took the chain to cash America pawn to see how much would they give me if I wanted to pawn it. They did a couple tests on it including a baking soda test that turned green and determined that the chain wasn’t real!! I took it back to value pawn ,they did several tests and they argued it was indeed real, so I took the chain to the Godfather pawn for a third opinion and they also determined that that chain wasn’t gold. Godfather Pawn did a magnet test and they also cut into it. They suggested that I sell the chain back to value pawn since that’s where I had initially purchased it from and since they were claiming it is real chain, therefore I wouldn’t take a complete loss on the money I spent on the chain. When the Hispanic lady with the short grey hair sold me that chain she said that the person that took it marked it in the system as 10k gold but she said it was 14 k the chain was stamped as 14k so she was giving me a good deal. After I got the opinion from the Godfather pawn I took the chain back to value pawn and told them that I wanted to sell it. Initially, Value Pawn told me if I needed to sell the chain they will give me $2000 for it if not more but when I return to actually sell it ,they offered me $1800!! They knew it wasn’t gold and another reason I know that is because she did not put me the exchange plan which is a service they offer when you buy jewelry where you can exchange for something else of equal or lesser value, remind you, I have bought several pieces of jewelry from this pawnshop, and have always been added to the plan automatically but for whatever reason when I went back, the chain was not on the plan again, another indicator that they were fully aware that the chain was not real!!! They got over on me real good.they gave me back $1,875 after some going back and forth wen I originally paid $3,219 for it. Smh…They went to the back to supposedly call the manager to approve the $1875 at this point they are still telling me that the chain is real. I have videos of the other pawnshop testing the chain and telling me that is not real and they wouldn’t give me anything for it!! I am a very good customer of Value Pawn and for them to do me that way INTENTIONALLY just to get sale/commission is very bad business!!! That was a lot of money for a gold plated chain that they sold me. They should’ve made it right and gave me the full amount that I paid since they knew it was the same chain that I bought from them 5 months ago.They knew it wasn’t gold but yet continue to try to convince me that it was gold.. these are some pics from the chain.i tried uploading the videos of the pawnshop testing it and google wouldnt let me post it. Hello my name is Sebastian S I had left the 1 star review about the fake chain the value pawn sold me, I’m not able to leave an update from my account so I decided to use my wife’s account. After corporate instructed me to give them a call with the reference num so that we can get this resolved. David the district manager reached out and pretty much told me there was nothing he can do because I had settled for the $1875 which is still unacceptable to me. His resolution was to send somebody to that store to re-train the staff on how to test gold. Can you believe this? This company is a joke. I highly recommend to not buy anything of value from this value pawn. I am taking the necessary steps to Escalade this situation. The way they handled the situation it was unprofessional, these people have no integrity or morals and I am very disappointed. Be on the look out for the next update.
