I was a first time homebuyer and I had a bad experience. The only reason I finished my process with them is due to being advised I would lose money if I pulled out at that point in the process. For my first time purchasing and being in the home still saddens me. My home is beautiful but the two people I worked with were unprofessional, ill-prepared, and more. It feels like a lingering bad taste in my mouth that's hard to get rid of. This is my honest opinion.
My first advice is -- Use someone else.
If you decide to try them Don't Give Any Money Unless you are certain of your closing date, they have all the documents they need, and it's terms you agree to.
I spoke with a Travis who came off as professional but I never worked with him. Maybe he would handle things better than the guy I had.
If you are working with an individual who makes you feel like you owe them before you buy STOP ?.
This should be one of your most enjoyable moments of purchasing.
If you get to title and you are not aware of some type of change or update never mentioned to you ? STOP.
I hope no one else experience is like mine. FBC representatives should have represented FBC a little better. I don't believe this was a clear view of who FBC is.

I worked with this company and in particular Johnny L. to secure a mortgage with a great interest rate for the purchase of my new home. Six months later I ended up calling Johnny L. again and he helped me refinance my loan to get an even lower interest rate! This was five star service from the first to the last. I do not plan on needing another mortgage anytime soon, but if I do I will definitely go back and see Johnny.

FBC was bought by CENLAR and are both terrible companies to do business with. It is impossible to get speak to anyone or get anything accomplished. They may steal your money and not apply it to your account and then report you to the credit burrough because of their inability to do business. At least that's the experience I've had this far. Not a single late payment, but now they have a $5000 certified bank check they signed for, but can't locate and post to the account. If you have ANY other options as far as picking a lender, I would highly advise you do so. Unless you are into bad customer service, a terrible website experience, and countless billing issues with ZERO explanation or ownership, then go right ahead.

When I first signed the adamshome contract it was contingent upon me making 40000/yr on my 2019 taxes. As of January when I filed my taxes I did not meet the contingency any longer so I reached out to FBC Loan to give them the information and to notify them that I did not reach my contingency. According to the lender Veronica freconna, she asked if I will make the 40000 for 2020. I told her due to having a baby 1.1.2020 I had to pay a worker so I am no longer making anywhere near that this year. She reached out to me later that day stating that to recieve my denial letter I will first have to write a letter to adamshomes stating what I just told her, that I didnt reach the contigency and Im no longer making the amount of money as I have the previous year. I wrote this letter on February 20th and like veronica freconna said, she released my denial letter 10 days after march 2nd. Now this is where I noticed this was a trick to keep my deposit! Adamshomes rep Dovales told me I can not have my deposit back because I was the one who refused to purchase the home, I didnt allow veronica to give me the denial letter first. Well according to veronica I had to write the letter FIRST to receive my denial letter. The letter does not state I am refusing to pay, it states I no longer meet the requirements to buy this home. Although they have the denial letter from FBC Mortgage they refuse to use it as such, stating my letter overrides the denial letter because its dated earlier then the denial letter. I asked to see anything of that wording listed on their policies or contracts. I have yet to recieve any proof that because I wrote a letter under the order of FBC MORTGAGE representative Veronica freconna I can not receive my deposit because the denial letter is no longer valid to my refund. The denial letter should override my letter since my letter was just stating why I will no longer be approved to purchase this home. I feel scammed! Tricked! Con! And all the above! Now that I understand what they were doing in making me write the letter I realize I never had to write a letter to adamshomes in the first place to recieve a denial letter. They had me write it to make it seem as if I was refusing! Either way I DO HAVE A DENIAL LETTER and It should still be used as a JOINT proof of what my letter is stating about the contingency and not that my letter is being used AGAINST the denial letter. This is shady business and one I will tell others to stay clear of. STAY AWAY FROM ADAMSHOMES AND THEIR LENDERS FBC MORTGAGE! I'm really considering opening up a CFPB investigation!
