I have been working with the Salvation Army for just about 4 years as the Director of Family Stores. I have an extensive background in retail management and never have I felt as fulfilled as I do now. We help our community by selling gently used household items including furniture at deeply discounted prices and also provide vouchers for people in our community who need our help. The money we recoup through the stores goes directly Social Services programs in the West Palm Beach Community.

Working with the Salvation Army has given me a unique insight into the profound impact our collective efforts have on the lives of those we serve. It's more than just a job; it's being part of a community dedicated to making a real difference. Seeing the tangible outcomes of our work—whether it's providing meals, shelter, or support—reinforces my belief in the Salvation Army's mission.
What stands out is how every contribution, big or small, directly benefits those in need. This organization operates with integrity, ensuring that donations are utilized effectively to maximize impact. I am proud to be a part of the Salvation Army and encourage anyone looking to contribute to a cause that truly changes lives to consider donating or volunteering with us. Your support makes a world of difference.

I went to the administration office with my daughter's case manager on October 1, 2018, after he was told on September 28, 2018 for us to meet, Dora Fluentz from the Lake Worth Salvation Army office at the administration building. That they will be able to assist with the need. Upon arrival, we spoke with Martha who finally lead us to Dora. Dora told us that she couldn't do any paperwork for clients living in Lake Worth, because it was no air conditioning at her Lake Worth office. The applications were there. When asked couldn't the workers in that office just give her a blank application. Don't they use the same application. She said "NO". She told us the Lake Worth Salvation Army office might be open on 10/5/18 but she didn't want to make an appointment. She told us to call back on 10/5/18, to make an appointment for 10/8/18. She didn't answer calls or return phone calls made to her. When speaking with Salvation Army Headquarters in another state they ensured on 10/8/18 we should hear from someone. Because what happened on 10/5/18 wasn't correct information and doesn't align with General William Booth's vision for Salvation Army.
I will post an update next week.
