I have been working at the Community Foundation for two years now, and it's the best job I've ever had. Not only is it a great place to work, more importantly is that the Community Foundation is changing lives every day. Because of generous donors that bring funds to the Foundation, we are able to make meaningful grants to almost every wonderful nonprofit in both Palm Beach and Martin County. Ask your favorite charity if they've ever received a grant from the Community Foundation - chances are, they have! I can't say enough good things about the Foundation and I am honored to be a part of such positive change for our community.

We were so very proud - Our daughter was awarded money for a scholarship. Although she followed all their "rules" of saving money by renting an apartment, living off campus, buying her own food, etc. all in order to save money, they would not allow her to use any of the scholarship money allotted to her. She now has student loans and has taken time off from college, again, to work and save up to complete her degree.After numerous phone calls, conversations with Community Foundation and her college, emails, etc. she still was never able to use the money.So scholarship applicants and philanthropists beware.Final thought & suggestion - something should be taught in their "classes" to say that if you accept their scholarship you must spend more money for dorms, food, books, etc. in order to even use it.
