Dr. Kilpatrick is AMAZING. He cares about your animals and takes the time to explain exactly what is going on. My review changed to a 3 because of his front receptionist. They don't care about your animal. I bought all 3 pets here for 3 years now. I no longer take my animals here because of the front receptionist. I called 1 day about my dog and her having known ear issues. I asked if I could get anything she stated not until he sees her. Well I was not available for another week. I asked the receptionist what I could do to help her ears while I'm waiting her response was "I don't know she will just have to wait" she never even tried to get an answer from the Dr. It was just a IDK. So my girl would have to suffer until then. No suggestions no nothing just IDK. I have left and taken my 3 animals to another vet where the receptionist care and take the time to make sure you and your pet are happy. Then when we had an issue with possibly being allergic to the meds the receptionist told the vet and he called me the next day himself ND told me how to help her.
I will miss Dr. Kilpatrick but will NOT miss the receptionist here.

Staff is always friendly and helpful. They helped me find a vet to care for my goats. Dr Kilpatrick always takes the time to sit down and explain Sadie's condition as well as optional treatments. I trust Southside and their care. They don't try to sell you anything and help to keep treatment within my budget.

I don’t even know what to say about this place anymore! I thought they were a kind staff, thorough and transparent- today I found out I was wrong. I called prior to scheduling because I wanted to find out a total cost for the annual plus vaccines to make sure it was something I could financially do all in one visit, they quoted me a cost of $250 and I leave there paying nearly $500 for an additional exam of the ears?! Which was not disclosed to me up front! It was even more upsetting when checking out that I explained this to the front desk lady and it fell of deaf ears.. she practically just stared at me, offering no apology or anything. The veterinarian is nice and seems very knowledgeable but they are obviously not truthful about fees. Will not be going back!

My pit mix has anxiety when it comes to vets and nail care. At home she lets me do anything I need to care for her (Ears, teeth, baths, etc.) but will not let me touch her nails. The staff at Southside has been nothing but patient with my pit and I. I could not be more grateful. She is a handful when she is anxious, and they were steadfast in creating a care plan to achieve a nail trim while balancing her anxiety.

SCAMMERS - Call to schedule a shot for my puppy. Asked what the price was. Was told it would only be $36 dollars. Made appointment based on the price and information I was given. Brought her in. And they charged my card $116.50 without any notice. And then tried to tell me that it was for a wellness examination when they legitimately did not check my dog look at my dog all they did was glance at her, so where was the examination that I got charged an extra $70 for!?! My next step is to report them to the Better Business Bureau because this is ridiculous. It’s the principal of the when you tell somebody a price don’t just charge them whatever you feel like charging them without discussing it with them. Do not recommend this place not to mention the service was not the best. Felt like I was more of a bother than a valued customer first and last experience there.

I am new to Florida and had an urgent matter regarding my pet mouse. I called different clinics all morning and none treated mice. I called southside and they said they did! Not only that but they got me in right away. I was there an hour after I called. The dr came in and had a conversation with me regarding the situation (my mouse was attacked by a wild rat thru her cage bars) he was very kind and listened to everything I told him. I also mentioned I had ordered some antibiotics online but it wasn’t going to be here for a few days and was hoping to get her at least one dose of medicine so she had something in her system. (She has a systemic infection from the rat bite) the dr was more than kind and went above and beyond. Instead of charging me for a whole rx of medicine since I already ordered some, he agreed to give me a few days worth just to have until my meds arrived. He also said he wouldn’t charge me for that since it was such a small amount. The visit fee was also a lot less than I was expecting as well. Very happy and relieved to have found this clinic and the wonderful Dr here. My sweet little mouse will soon be on the mend ❤️?

We live onboard a sailboat and had a great weather window to cross to the Bahamas. We needed our import paperwork done quickly for our pets. I told them our predicament and they made room for us the very next day. We will be using Southside before every crossing from now on. We were very impressed with the staff and the veterinarian.

I am beyond grateful for the exceptional care and compassion Dr. Kilpatrick provided to my fathers and my beloved dog Charlie. His dedication to his well-being, both in good times and during his last days, has left an indelible mark on my heart. I truly believe Dr. Kilpatrick is one of the best veterinarians a Vero. He has cared for all of my dogs for the at least 15 years. The staff are very professional and caring, and I must say pleasure to talk to.

We needed som last minute vaccinations for our dogs so we could go to the Bahamas. We were given a quick appointment and we’re very pleased with Dr. Kilpatric and the entire staff. He took time to talk with us and was very thorough wit our dogs. By far the best Vet we have ever been to. What a lucky find.

We were surprised to find out our Vet did not euthanize any longer. So in our time of stress and need we were lucky to find Dr Kilpatrick and staff. They were professional and compassionate in what every pet owner dreads. As it very well might be the last time we may need their service They gave us 5 star treatment and a week later followed with a sympathy card. Dr Kilpatrick spent a long time with us during and after the process. What a wonderful office and staff
