I have been a property investor for many years and am always looking for mortgage brokers when moving to new areas. I found Ocean Mortgage Capital (and Mike Kanuka) by researching online. Mike has been one of the BEST DISCOVERIES in Vero Beach. Over the last few years, we have worked on several deals together, and he has been OUTSTANDING in every way.
Mike shops around with multiple mortgage companies to find the best rates based on my particular needs. He then prepares a spreadsheet with all the mortgage costs. His chart shows what the payments can be if I choose to pay for a better interest rate. I like this a lot.
Because of his many years in banking, he is always anticipating the next step and making sure that all parties involved have the info they need before they need it. If presented with a financing challenge, he has often already dealt with something similar before, so he knows what to do. He is incredibly thorough. This often leads to early closings.
Additionally, Mike is a wonderful communicator and educator. He sends regular emails, calls or texts about how things are progressing. And, he is also quick to respond to questions.
I have worked with a lot of mortgage lenders and can confidently say that you will not find anyone better than Mike Kanuka and Ocean Mortgage Capital to help with your property financing.

Recently worked with Mike Kanuka. He never stoped solving every obstacle that tried to get in the way. He worked at it like he was doing it for family. I hope whom ever reads this review decides to work with Michael Kanuka. Mr.Kanuka was referred to my husband and I by a friend who raved about Mr.Kanuka great service and knowledge. We hesitated calling him at 1st because we were already working with a loan officer whom promised they could make our complex deal go through (FYI the weren't able to) so we decided to call Mr.Kanuka and honestly it was the best decision we could've made. Reason why... #1 he's super smart and knows his stuff #2 he Is honest and realistic #3 very organized and professional #4 a great educator, educates every step of the way (super important if you are a 1st time home buyer like us) #5 can workout a very complex or unconventional deal #6 his numbers are super accurate, you definitely will not have any surprises at closing or along the way #6 Always available and responds super quick #7 will always have your best interest at heart even concerning mistakes your realtor or title company may make #8 Guides you every step of the way , you will never feel lost or confused. #9 Very helpful with completing and understand paperwork #10 continues a relationship after closing and reminds you on ways to save on property tax (example homestead tax exception). As a first-time home buyer, I had only a vague idea about the mortgage process. I went to Mike for help and he walked me through the whole process, turning something complex into something simple. He was always available, day or night and would call me to check in! When taking a big step in life, you want the best people helping you and Mike was certainly that.
