Our former Truist branch closed and so we are now using the downtown Truist branch. I'm not getting good vibes there. I went in today with a question. Everyone was dressed in jeans and on their way to lunch. Did I want to make an appointment? The teller finally decided to talk with me; however, listening to her through the glass was difficult. Why couldn't she talk with me at a desk? There were three vacant desks available. The walls were dirty and in need of painting. The whole atmosphere (from staff to surroundings) seemed unprofessional/unkempt. Maybe it's time to switch banks.

We opened an account 4 years ago when this bank was Suntrust. Then we went through the changes when Truist took over. We stuck with it on hopes the bank would be better. Now we find out that the Venice island branch is closed on Saturdays, not even window service at the drive through. I figure that in these days, most brick and mortar banks are on life support. No doubt, Truist is one of them.

Whether you use the drive up or walk in next door, this branch is filled with helpful and knowledgeable team members. Benjamin at the drive up always goes the extra mile.

The new online banking app is not smooth. When making a deposit through the app on a phone, the format is such that the final “deposit” button is hidden below the screen and one has to scroll down to see it. Otherwise, of course, it fails. Same with paying a credit card statement. I usually pay a few days ahead and schedule the payment for the day before the due date. This time I wanted to check to ensure I’d scheduled a payment. Called the downtown Venice branch and was told they can’t see any scheduled payments. And, wouldn’t you know, neither can I on their new app. So I was sent to headquarters and an hour later I gave up - lousy phone menu, lack of understanding of the problem by a mid-level Venice Truist agent, etc. Turns out that I just went ahead and paid my bill -was a duplicate. I’m looking elsewhere in Venice for a bank that has at least a 4.9 star rating.

Worst bank I've ever used. Management treated me awful after I closed my account. Had zero balance and suddenly a charge came through a closed account and they sent me to collections without a courtesy call. Mimi was awful, the senior patient representative. Manager refused to call me back. Worst customer service. A simple closure of an account due to not wanting to bank with Truist when they merged from SunTrust, has been a nightmare. Would never recommend to anyone. They could have showed empathy, helped me clear their error up and made things right. Instead they treated me like garbage. Way to go Truist. This is the Venice Island Branch.
