I went to Sunbug last year to find a new bathing suit. The owner, Norhala was helpful and inviting. Spent wayyyy more than I would ever have but it was beautiful. I live in MA so I knew I wouldn't be able to return it. I went swimming it exactly once. I washed it as directed did not dry it. When I pulled it out to go to Florida this year The top was a different color from the bottoms. It was hot pink The top faded. I brought it into the store and as usual they greeted my in the same way as the first time ... until I told them why I was there. These ladies treated me like a lepper!! They grilled me on how exactly I washed it and told me I should've washed it in Dawn dish soap. They quickly shut me down when I asked for a discount at least, as they would not refund me my money! I signed up for rewards last year so they had an idea of when I was there! I have never seen such a turn around in attitudes ... from giving me all attention when making a sale to being treated so very poorly when that sale had issues! They don't back up the products they sell. Awful business practices!! Try Swim City. I did this year and found an amazing suit and some very helpful ladies! ( I told the ladies what happened and they tell me they hear a lot of the same stories from others!!) Don't waste your time with SunBug.

My 12 year old niece was trying on a swimsuit- when she wanted her father's approval, an employee told him that he wasn't allowed to be near the dressing room area. It was confusing to her, awkward for him, and embarrassing for me as her Aunt. He was neither lingering nor actually IN the dressing area. She was ready to show him the swimsuit, so I called him over, and she pulled the curtain back just in time to see the employee kicking out her Dad as though he were doing something entirely inappropriate when he was actually trying to ensure that the swimsuit WAS appropriate for a preteen. I noticed and mentioned to the manager what had happened, just to explain the situation and ensure that it didn't happen to anyone else. (Her Dad was so upset by the episode that he immediately went outside.) I was told "I don't know what you want me to say." Here's what I wanted to hear- "I'm sorry that happened, and I'll ensure it doesn't happen again. Maybe next time I can announce that there's a man present (even though he was OUTSIDE the doorway to try dressing room,) so anyone who is shy can wait to walk out. However, they seemed to stand by their "no men" policy. So here's what I have to say- This shop is not friendly to families.

Beware, this store does not stand behind it's products. My friend's and I will never shop there again. After wearing my new sweaters all of 3 times each they were full of pulls & looked awful. The owner of the store did nothing to make me whole.

SunBug and Twist are my new favorite places to shop! The shops are right next door to each other! They carry all of my favorite clothing brands plus other adorable options. And the amazing sales staff fit bathing suits perfectly for your body shape!!! Adorable beach cover-ups. Their jewelry, hats, bags and accessories are beautiful. A must on your trip down Venice Ave!!!

Tried one time to support this small business…purchased $98 sale silk pants, tried on at home, found one ripped cargo pocket and completely loose seams at waist. Returning damaged product within 14 days with my original receipt and tags still attached to store manager, this loud person (while still chewing her lunch on the sales floor), with a condescending tone accuses me of damaging this product (even after her store associate makes this comment“ I understand, these things happen, who knows how long and where these sit on a ship somewhere these days before getting to us”…)I was not offered any at all compensation, repair, or a full refund, when I asked for store manager’s info, was handed business card with name and store phone # only… unfortunately paid with debit card…contacting BBB next

My visit with my mother in law to SunBug was exceptional! From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with kindness. I later learned one of the associates was the owner. They were all helpful and informative but not pushy or over bearing. After a few failed attempts to find the right suit on my own, the owner found me a beautiful bathing suit. I was apprehensive about the cost, but a fellow customer urged me to take the leap, that her suits from there have lasted 10 plus years! They gave me specific care instructions to further the life of my new suit. I left feeling confident and excited to get into the pool when I got home. Thank you SunBug!
