Exceptional quality and stellar service from John the owner. He knows jewelry and is very passionate about his craft! I worked for a well known mall jewelry store for 20 years but I would still buy from John because the quality in his store was something we don’t get or see. I love being able to proudly display a necklace or piece no one else has. I also use John for all my repairs, I trusted his care with my piece more than the jeweler I had to work with!

John has been outstanding with every repair, sizing, and purchase. He is friendly and helpful and obviously knows a lot about the jewelry world. He repaired a very expensive watch for my friend, which the jeweler down the street wouldn't touch.
I love the small size of his store. It reminds me of the family run jewelry store I used in NH. I tried a few stores in the Venice area but felt J&G Jewelry was exactly what I was looking for. Not big but small and welcoming.

J&G repaired my wedding ring, and I was completely happy with their work. The owner has a straighforward, eastern European vibe, which other reviewers may have found brusque. I found it charming. I would return for additional repairs when needed.

Avoid! Used solder or diverging on my platinum wedding ring set. It actually flaked and cracked on my finger and left me with a nice cut. The jeweler I went to for correction couldn't believe their eyes. I did much biz here. Now I think he must have ripped me off good. SMH. You trust and then you get the shaft. Sad. Do yourself a favor. Lots of jewelers in Venice. Classic creations are great on 41. Go there. Hate to do this to a business. But they should not have done that to me

Oh boy was this jeweler having a bad day! My husband and I walked in shopping and I asked the jeweler if he has estate jewelry..... he said you want to look at a nice ring for $7,000....I laughed and said noooo. He told me to go to a pawn shop!!!!!! So RUDE!! Do not give him your business!

I would never recommend this store to anyone! The owner is the rudest, most obnoxious person you never want to meet. The inventory is limited!

John is such a direct but honest and caring jeweler. He wants to make sure you make an informed decision. His caring and desire to serve his clientele is stellar! Take a drive downtown and stop in to be surprised and impressed!

Horrible horrible is what I can say. I have never been so rudely treated or condescend to as a customer. We took my engagement ring in to get fixed as a prong was loose and I had list a diamond. We took a diamond in that had been my mother's to replace the lost one. He allegedly fixed it but within a week the replacement diamond that was my mom's fell out and was lost. HorribleWe went back to see what could be done since it wasn't fixed properly and now my mother's diamond was gone. He (John) immediately blamed me and said to my husband "is it my fault she can't take care of her good jewelry". Unbelievable! Don't go there unless you want to be insulted or want shoddy work.

Went to go get a link taken out of my bracelet. He took the link out, but it was still entirely too big. I asked to have another taken out and he insisted that it would be too small. He was very condescending. In the end he took another link out. He told my fiancée when she needs them back on it will cost more. Thankfully we didn't listen to his expert advice because it fits perfectly now.

Didn’t feel welcoming. Staff completely dismissed us. Not a wide selection of jewelry but seemed good quality. Bad service.

Rudest, assuming people. Can not believe people treat potential customers this way.The woman working unlocked the door at 10:05, I walked in & asked the gentleman if I could get my ring size because my husband would like to upgrade my rings. He tried to eyeball my ring size before setting the ring sizer on the counter (off by 1 and a half sizes). He tells me he can’t resize my rose gold engagement ring and wedding band because it’s mixed with copper. I reiterated I’d like to purchase new rings with diamonds and not resize. My husband & I purchased my current set a while ago, before babies, while my (now physician) husband was in medical school. A lot has changed and we would like to invest in a nice diamond set.I kindly asked “Would you mind if I looked around while you are setting up?” All seemed well. I’m interested in a ring in the window & the gentleman was kind enough to set it on the display cabinet. It’s gorgeous! He mentions that I should not look at the price tag because he would cut a deal. I’m not sure if that was a kind selling tactic or if he didn’t think I could afford it, but it was well below what we had in mind so I was excited about it. I had came in on a whim while I was walking downtown so I didn’t have my husband with me. I kindly ask “Would you mind if I took a picture to send to my husband?” The woman scoffs. The man says that would be fine. Before I even have a chance to pull my phone out, the woman sets paper towels and a spray bottle on the glass display and I said “Oh, let me move out of your way” and she said “ya, since we’re not even open yet..” Excuse me?! You unlocked the door at 10:05, your sign says 10am open and so does Google.I calmly set the rings down and leave after explaining if they don’t want to serve customers at 10am they should leave the door locked and change their sign. I’d love to have a Pretty Woman moment with her with my new rings I purchase elsewhere, but I’ll never return. I do hope they read this and treat everyone walking through their door with a little bit more respect. Another reviewer mentioned that they judged and assumed what they can afford. That review didn’t seem to change anything. My terrible service I have no doubt was related to what she thought I was going to spend.BIG MISTAKE. How about you assume that the person leisurely walking in on a Tuesday morning can afford to purchase whatever they want?!

Very nice person and goes out of the way to make his customers happy. He appraised my ring for me and added gold to my moms ring. She is deceased so it meant a lot to me. John is a former circus performer too.
