I cannot praise enough about Dr. Peress and staff! They have been there every step of the way with our mini poodle and her bilateral luxating patella surgery. I'm a dog mom who appreciates a lot of reassurance. The staff reciprocated my texts and emails promptly and throughly throughout recovery. Our girl is doing amazing. So thankful to all at Veterinary Surgery center of Sarasota! Highly recommend them
Thank you!

Dr. Rose and his staff are exceptional!! From the front desk staff to the techs and nurses and topping it off with Dr. Rose, I would not be happier. Any time our babies have to have surgery, it's a scary and emotional time for everyone. They made sure I knew what to expect every step of the way. The care they showed my baby boy was enough for me to be comfortable to leave him in their hands.

I recently entrusted Veterinary Surgical Center of Sarasota to perform surgery on my dog to close his cleft palate, a procedure that cost $4,000. After the surgery, the cleft palate was still partially open, and the clinic insisted on a second round of surgery, which cost an additional $3,500. Following this second surgery, my dog’s feeding tube fell out before his scheduled check-up, and his palate still hadn’t fully closed.
I informed the clinic about the tube falling out, but they rescheduled his appointment due to a hurricane, further delaying his care. Despite their previous concerns about the risk of infection, they instructed me to start feeding him again, even though his condition hadn’t fully resolved and he couldn’t eat properly until the palate closed.
Additionally, when I dropped him off for a check-up, despite not being fed or given his necessary medications all day, the clinic charged me $170 for leaving him there without providing any care.
This experience has left me feeling that the center is more focused on profit than the well-being of the animals in their care.
Then on top of all that this woman told me she’s not going to let me act like I’m upset when we’re all going through a situation from the storm like my dog wasn’t born with a hole in his mouth and been in this situation since his existence I’m getting this on the news

For a very worrisome time, Dr. Rose and the entire team were exceptional at making me feel comfortable. Dr. Rose was recommended by our primary vet and I can’t thank them enough for the referral. Dr. Rose explained my options to me and I chose to do surgery on my 3 year old pup. From consult to discharge, the entire team was wonderful. I received communication from them as promised, my pup seemed very content in their care and we are now on the road to recovery. Thank you Dr. Rose!
Maggie, Taylor and Asha, thank you to you as well. Every time I called, you were courteous and so helpful. The best team!
Editing to add
My pup needed a second surgery and Dr. Peress was the surgeon this time. When I spoke with Dr. Peress, I felt he truly cared about my pup and the complexity of his diagnosis. Dr. A kept me informed throughout my pups stay in their facility and was extremely thorough with every update. You will not find a better practice. Thank you Dr. Rose, Dr. Peress and Dr. A!

Our dog Riley had the TPLO surgery done here. The doctor and staff were very kind and took care of our girl. Riley is 7 months post op and it’s like she never even had surgery. She is fully recovered and has been for a while now!

I'm very thankful for Dr. Scott Rose and Veterinary Surgery Center of Sarasota.
We took our 13 year old Havapoo there after she tore her CCL. We'd been to our family veterinarian and they had recommended traditional surgery. Because of her age, we were unsure if that was the right way to go. We decided to try therapeutic measures, such as laser treatments, rest and anti-inflammatories, along with some pain medication. It was obvious that she wasn't going to get better and it wasn't going to be much of a life for the girl that had given us so much.
I took her to get groomed, as I knew that my groomer was familiar with CCL tears and would be very careful with her. She told me about Dr. Rose and the Veterinary Surgery Center of Sarasota. She persuaded me to give them a call for another opinion.
We took Tiva there on April 18, 2024 and she had her surgery the following week. I was so scared because of her advanced age. Dr. Rose reassured me that he wouldn't do the surgery if there was any indication it wouldn't be safe. His staff was so fabulous. They told me to call if I had any questions at all. I called several times throughout the day and they would check on how the surgery was proceeding and give me an update. That evening, Dr. Rose called to tell me that everything had gone very well. He explained everything. While I was on the phone talking to him, I got an e-mail with Tiva's discharge instructions.
We picked her up the following day. She was doing so well, she'd already walked some. I strictly followed the regimen. Recently we took Tiva back for her final checkup. She has healed perfectly.
If you have a dog that needs CCL surgery, I highly recommend you go there. The staff is so friendly, reassuring and accommodating.
Thank you, Dr. Rose and and thank you, Veterinary Surgery Center for everything you've done.

Can’t say enough about the care we received after our Lucy had two TPLO surgeries performed at VSC by Dr. Peress. I had a few concerns that I was able to get addressed after hours by text, and even needed a script refilled over weekend that they helped me with.. I’m praying we’re done with the surgeries, but wont hesitate to return if needed.

Our experience with this facility and Dr. Peress was very disappointing. Several calls to set up a consult were unanswered. They prefer to text. Once an appointment was secured, Dr. Peress wasn't any better. While we didn't recommend surgery as our primary vet had for the issue, he wouldn't spend five minutes to take out two stitches as our vet had requested he do. He said he would need to put our dog under anesthesia to remove two stitches. And this was after he had mentioned removing a large lipoma without anesthesia, which made no sense. So, for $135, he didn't do much. We went to our primary vet right after the consult here, and a vet tech took the stitches out in a couple of minutes. No anesthesia. Imagine that! No impressed with the service or provider we met with.

Attentive staff. Clean and inviting waiting area with coffee and assorted beverages. The Dr.s Re amazing. They take the time to go over the diagnosis and treatment plan. Would not take our fur babies any other place.
