My husband went to the ER a week ago for a possible perforated colon. he had an EGD & Colonoscopy in Orlando earlier that day. We were told upon arrival that it would be 1.5 hour wait. The doctor finally called us back after 6 hours after having him sit in a chair that long & the doctor had the wrong person's chart. They sent him back to the waiting room. After all this time, they said they did not have a GI doctor in house. The doctor spoke with the doctor's office in Orlando. He yelled at the ER doctor saying that he was going to send my husband home for the CT Abdomen/Pelvis with contrast. The CT was negative. The bloodwork showed a high white count. He was given IV antibiotics after my husband's doctor yelled at him. We finally got out of there. I took my husband to Advent Health & they immediately put him in his own room, got another CT Scan & admitted him. Parrish Hospital had people all over the ER waiting for hours. I do not see how a hospital should stay in business with their bad reputation. I will never go there nor will my family. How can a hospital legally be in business. To top it off, I noticed on the door after they put my husband in a room MRSA precautions.. I do hope this really was clean. DO NOT GO THERE!!

The worst hospital in Brevard. Do not come to this hospital I came in with gallbladder pain and chest pain and they did ultrasound and X-ray. And threw me in the waiting room. They blew my veins three times and the nurse was not wearing gloves while getting my blood and was very rude. They proceeded to shove me out in the waiting room for 7 hours straight and everyone else was helped except me. I got no medication or no help by any of the staff. Do not waste your time here all there doing is making you wait so you have to pay more money. I have not gotten any answers on what's going on why it's taking so long or nothing so frustrating when you here until 4 am but have to get up for work at 6 am. Ridiculous!!

I had to go to Parrish Medical 2 weeks ago for shortness of breath. I have Cancer that has spread to my lungs. I was having more and more difficulty breathing as the days went on, so eventually called 911 to take me to the hospital. I have to say, they took awesome care of me. Immediately got me relief, had to have a few minor procedures done in ICU. There were so many Angels around me that week in the hospital. DR Krishna, not sure if spelling is good, ICU nurse Kristy, actually so many more just forgot their names. Look I know people have had problems, but dont go to Er for a cold or earache when u can go to Dr or Urgent Care. Parrish is and was amazing to me and my family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

Do not go to Parrish ER for care! My Experience2/3 - 2/5/23 - vomiting uncontrollably2/6- Parrish ER - 7 hoursVomiting while being triaged, given a barf bag & told to sit in the waiting room. Finally made it to an ER triage chair & begged for something to stop nausea. Because I started to cry, they gave me an IV of Zofran & saline & performed blood & urine tests. I never made it to an ER bed because I was told none were available. 29 patients 1 physicianDiagnosis UTI & given antibiotics & Zofran for the vomiting & released but still can't keep solid foods down2/9 - not getting better / visit Advent Health Urgent CareStill can't keep solid foods down, weak & dehydrated. Explained to the NP about prolonged nausea, & she asked if Parrish had completed a CT scan or x-ray of the abdominal area, and I replied,"no." An x-ray of my stomach was completed, & I was told I had a large amount of "material" in my colon. I was advised to use laxatives, enemas & Zofran. The NP was concerned & encouraged me to return to an ER if the vomiting continued.2/14 - still vomiting & back to Parrish ER.can't keep solid foods downBlood & vitals were within normal ranges, & hydration had improved. CT scan was performed, which showed there was still significant material in the colon & manual rectal exam performedUTI still appeared in urine testGiven prescriptions for GoLightly, Zofran, & antibiotics; told to drink liquids & protein drinks for nourishment, & advised to find a GI specialist.Since my husband & I are residents of NYS, we do not have a primary physician in FL. GI specialists require a referral, & appointments are a month out.2/15-19 Took prescribed medications but still can't keep solid foods down2/20 - projectile vomiting, delirious, & transported to Parrish ER by ambulance at 7 amcan't keep solid foods downno additional scans donenew blood work & urine testGiven a saline IV at 8am, which ran out within the next hour & never replacedAsked to be admitted to get to the bottom of what was going on & was told the doctor could not admit me because my vitals were good and insurance companies won't pay for admittance. I told the doctor we had supplemental medical insurance in addition to Medicare, which should provide any coverage necessary, still denied admittanceWe explained we live out of state, our house has sold, & we must leave & that is why I am asking to be admitted & have an on staff GI specialist complete an examination as an inpatient. I was still denied admittance.Prescribed Zofran & told to keep drinking liquids & to see a GI specialistAs the nurse handed me the discharge papers, my husband asked if they had any socks or a gown I could use because I came in an ambulance in bare feet & boxer shorts. A student nurse found me a pair of socks & scrub bottoms. My husband left to get the car. The nurse asked if I could stand, & I replied I could. She walked out & didn't see her again. No wheelchair or person to accompany me out the door. I walked through the lobby alone, in my socks & scrub pants, barely knowing where I was because I was so weak.2/21 - extremely weak, still can't keep any solid foods down, & taking Zofran around the clock. My husband started frantically calling local GI specialists to explain the situation. Finally, the following week, we obtained an appointment with German Restrepo, a GI NP at Titusville Landing. He ordered another CT scan. I am still under his care & appreciate his concern. If I had been cared for properly initially, we may not of had to rent back the home we sold and I might have gotten strong enough to travel home.I subsequently found out that none of my neighbors will come to Parrish for medical care. They recommend Viera, Orlando, or Canaveral. The day the EMTs came to transport me to the hospital, I thought it was odd when they asked me to which hospital I would like to go. Now I understan

Awful experience. After waiting 2 hours to have a test done we've been left waiting for an additional 5 hours to hear a 2 minute conversation. Horrible time management and efficiency. Still waiting while writing this.

Mara De la Vega is not a proficient doctor. She and her staff made me wait past my prescription refill point to get refills with no reasoning or response my inquiries. I've read on here and elsewhere she and her staff have done the same to others. Going against her oath is criminal but of course no recourse for the effected patients.Avoid Mara De la Vega and Perish Medical Group at all costs as They don't care about your health! I'll be switching providers and am happy to drive to Orlando for my care.

I told my husband they should change the name of this place because it sounds like "perish". One major positive point was that there was great cell service. Since my husband wasn't allowed in, I was able to keep in touch with him while I was in the ER. My daughter took over when he had to leave for work and they let her in. I LOVE Adriane. She's my favorite person in the establishment. All of the staff were nice. It just took way too long to see anyone. After 8 hours, they admitted me and the staff in the hospital was nice. Health & Nutrition kept me fat and happy. I had a nice room to myself with a view of the atrium. I was worried that my stay would cost an arm and a leg, but good thing I have amazing insurance!

Whoever you all have working between the hours of 1-3 pm on Tuesdays needs to learn to be way more professional. There's no reason whatsoever that my best friend who is pregnant should have to deal with attitude from your workers. ESPECIALLY when asking simple questions about insurances and opening times. Do better.

Extremely rude front desk workers. Zero customer service skills, and lacking communication skills.
