“First of all—when I walked into VyStar, I had zero motivation, zero hope. I didn’t think I was going to get anything done. I strolled in, super low effort, and was like, “Hey… do you guys do walk-ins?” And honestly, I was already bracing myself for the “No, we can’t help you, make an appointment” nonsense that I’ve gotten at other banks (looking at you, Wells Fargo).

But they hit me with “Yeah, we can help you! We do walk-ins.”

WHAT?!? Excuse me?!?

I have never seen bankers available in real time who actually want to get business done. Normally, they’re just sitting there, available, but still making you schedule an appointment for no reason. So I was already impressed.

Now, completely my fault, I took a phone call that ran way longer than expected—like a full hour—so I missed my window. Totally on me. But even then, they were like, “It’s cool, we can still see you.” The only issue was I had a meeting to run to, so I couldn’t stay, but they set me up for the next day, no hassle.

Ashley & Yvonne are The Dream Team

So I came back the next day, and Ashley and Yvonne were absolutely incredible. They walked me through everything, step by step, and made the whole process stupid easy.

But here’s the thing that really caught me off guard—they were actually down-to-earth, relatable people.

Do you know how rare that is in banking?! You’re usually met with overworked, tired-of-this-job robots who can’t wait and take pleasure to hit you with a “Nope, can’t do that.” But Ashley and Yvonne? Completely different experience. I actually felt like, “Damn, this bank has my back.”

Like, if there’s a business banking opportunity or perk that I don’t even know about? I just know they’re the type to be like, “Hey, by the way, did you know you can do this?” And that is huge to me.

This is where Ashley took me out. When I first walked in she asked me, “How do you like your car?”

And I was like, “Huh? My car??”

She noticed what I pulled up in and started a whole conversation about third-row vehicles—which, if you know, you know. We instantly connected, just because she was paying attention. Most people are not that observant, but that tiny detail made it feel like I was talking to a friend, not just a banker.

And then—come to find out—Ashley is the freaking manager.

A Manager That’s Actually Present? Say What?!

How many times have you walked into a bank and actually seen the manager?
And then—how many times have you seen them actually helping people instead of hiding in an office?

I’ll wait.

That’s what makes Ashley different. She’s out there, on the floor, working with her team. Every time I come in, I see her engaged and available. She’s not pretending to be busy, not dodging customers, not hiding behind a desk. She’s there. And that speaks volumes about the culture at VyStar.

Listen, I have my personal account with Navy Federal, but when it came to business banking? Absolutely not. At some point I’ll probably move my NF account too.

Navy Federal takes 7-10 business days just to send you the documents you need to even start opening an account. No. Thank. You.
