Very friendly and helpful staff, clean environment for both the animals and humans! Never been to an animal shelter or have to retrieve a friend's pet, larger than I expected it to be.

For those who don't know, you have to make an appointment to drop off an animal.

Is a non animal kill shelter, but wouldn't take a dog and told me to euthanize it.

They need to except more cats ?. It's ridiculous how big this place is and the tax dollars that paid to improve it but yet they turn away cats everyday that need a home instead they tell you to just leave them on the streets unless they're injured. Even then they will pick up the cat for 24 hours and then just drop it back where they found it not knowing if somebody is going to care for them or feed them. They just don't care about the cats. Very disappointed in this supposed shelter. I believe lake county should get together and make this place do their job for the animals because they just don't care.

They are very selective of the pets they take in. A gentleman was bringing a dog in and they told him no they were too busy although no staff were helping customers. Guests were not allowed to touch the animals unless they were adopting them. It was heartbreaking and I will not be back. Very hard to see.

After losing two dogs to old age this year, I visited a shelter to adopt a new companion. Yesterday, I filled out information on an iPad, received a sticker for my shirt, and went outside to look at all the dogs in person. A young girl promptly told me I couldn't directly look at them, insisting I rely on pictures and ask to see specific dogs. I expressed my preference to assess temperament in person. Frustrated, I removed my badge, intending to leave. In a snarky tone, she remarked, "The trashcan is inside." I believe the situation could have been handled better. There were no signs prohibiting public entry, and both the staff and rules should recognize the importance of treating potential adopters with respect.

We can hear you when you pick up the phone to hang up and stop the phone from ringing. Maybe try disconnecting the cord next time?
