Do not use this company.I had an electric car in Tampa that was returned on time. They charged me for extra day, also 35$ charging fees when car was 85% upon return I also used my own iPass for tolls and guess what. I got charged for tolls plus excessive fees. Called them few times and no response. Bunch of thieves. I wish I could do zero stars.

Beware!!! They barely acknowledge you during check-in. I was given a car that smelled horrible (like cigarette smoke), so I asked for a different vehicle. I was told “it was that car or nothing”, so I asked what to do so I wouldn’t be charged a cleaning fee (this has happened before). I was told to fill out a pre-vehicle inspection form, which I did stating the car smelled like smoke. After returning the vehicle, I was STILL charged $400 as a “smoking fee”, which I have spent over a week and hours of my time trying to get refunded. I even had a picture of the form, because I never trust rental places anymore. I have yet to hear directly from this branch, despite filling out the survey asking for a call, submitting a corporate complaint case, and being told over the phone they would have them contact me. Absolutely absurd.Edited: I have received an email from customer service stating "the rental information available to us does not indicate a refund is due. Although this is not the preferred resolution, I hope you will understand our position in this matter." They have given no explanation despite me providing proof of a pre-vehicle inspection report. Also, the link in their automated Google response just takes you to another automated messaging service, which I am also not getting a response from. They are criminals. Go anywhere else.

I decided to try out Thrifty with my family on my vacation to Tampa. This had to be the worst experience I’ve ever had renting a vehicle from any rental company. They were unorganized and the car porting associates were completely useless and did not know how to be professional nor which way was up or down. The girl named Amanda that was at the car pick up area looked like it was her first time working at any job in general the way she handled the customers. She just talked back to them like it was their fault the cars weren’t ready and to not bother her because she was so busy trying to figure new excuses to why Thrifty overbooked their cars. She then told me that if no one picked up the ford expedition in 30 min, that we would be able to take it. We had a family of 7 waiting for a bigger vehicle. 30 min came by and I asked her to take the vehicle and she said that she didn’t say that and proceeded to lie to me again about why I couldn’t have the available vehicle they had. We finally got our 7 seater suv and were able to leave. The way the associates handled the situation was ridiculous and again very unprofessional.I’m going back to using Hertz, they may be a little more but it’s worth not having to deal with incompetence.

Awful!!!! If there were - choices I would mark those. We arrived at the Tampa International Airport for Thrifty Car rental and was called by the attendant Dio at Dollar rental, apparently they're affiliated. My husband's credit card was compromised, so I had to show him mine (same account) but because the reservation was under his name they needed a credit card with his name on it. So they had to switch the rental to my name-ok fine. Then he asked what time I was returning the car I said by 3pm, because our flight left at 6pm he said well your reservation says you're returning it at 10:30am, if you're bringing it back at 3pm we have to charge you another WEEK !!! I said do you mean an extra day?? He said NO an extra week!! That'll be $418.00 more you owe us. Oh my goodness thankfully I have family here and they said to drop it off at 10:30 and they'll pick me up and take me back to the airport on the day of our departure. Mr. Dio was NOT budgeting. Then he said oh and you're getting an Electric Car-I said why?? He said that's what you picked-people don't like electric but that's what you're getting-Wow! I never owed electric, we know nothing about electric and when I arrived to the pickup area the girl said here it is. So I asked her "How does this electric thing work?" She said well the car will advise you when it's on a LOW charge and you have to find a station that is compatible to that car, if it isn't you have to leave it there charging over night-HUH WHAT!!!!! I told her I'm not from Florida if I leave it charging over night where am I going?? Am I staying over night with the car??? Where do I find a charging station?? She shrugged her head!!! Oh my goodness this is a nightmare experience!! Jesus help me!!!! I begged her for an gasoline car she said there's nothing available and if there was it's considered an upgrade!!!! Hello so now GAS cars are upgrades??!! I grew up with gas powered vehicles! Please I said to her you have to give me a gas car we can't do this NOPE NO budgeting-I walked away to call my cousin who's in shock that we're going through this HELL of an experience. The girl finally(maybe)felt bad for us and said, we're going to put you in a gas car-OMG Thank you!!!! God is good. But that whole experience was about 2hours of my life!!!! Oh then I called to extend the car they said sure that'll be an extra DAY fee not a WHOLE WEEK? I KNEW IT- Anything to make MORE money. Awful business ethics-So deceitful. Stay away from Thrifty and any others that are affiliated.

Almost Impossible to arrive by private car and pick up a rental car. Poor signage and poor phone support. I do appreciate the response from the company and hope they can fix the signage issues.

Had a GREAT experience with Thrifty. Very professional and friendly staff from start to finish. Returns were quick and easy (they look at the gas tank and mileage, tell you the final total as quoted or even better, and email you the receipt right there). No surprise charges.P.S. Great last minute prices as well! Half the price of what ACE Car Rental tried to charge me. I initially reserved with ACE Car Rental and prepaid for the collision insurance online. When I arrived, they tried to upsell me like crazy, including toll tag package, etc., and stated that I am required to purchase extra liability coverage from them in order to release me the car, which is almost an extra $100, and they would not accept my personal auto insurance. They didn't give me a choice and I felt it was bad business practice, so I canceled the reservation and walked over to Thrifty. THANK YOU THRIFTY FOR SAVING THE DAY AND FOR SAVING MY FAMILY TRIP!

Initially, I had concerns after reading the reviews, but my encounter with Thrifty turned out to be excellent. We decided to upgrade to an SUV, and we were delighted to find that the car was new and in fantastic condition. The waiting line was brief, and the staff were friendly. The return process was also hassle-free.

This is the worst rental car experience I have EVER had. Reserved a mid sized car, was charged for a mid sized car, but given a compact car. Had to wait forever. No cars over 10 families waiting some with small children after 10pm with no service. The worst customer service and experience I have ever had!! Do not use these people.

I had the pleasure of being helped by Brittany and Chloe at the Tampa airport office. These young ladies were amazing exceptional customer service so helpful and pleasant. If only every customer service experience was this friendly!!! Love them.

4 out of 5 only because at the first desk the lady worded it like I HAD to choose insurance. This being my first time I felt like I had to choose, when actually I didn't have to. My own insurance was enough coverage. HOWEVER, after getting down to the garage, Miya and Maria were able to assist me in getting the original charge cancelled. Maria said it was a timed thing, and needed to be reversed quickly, and she was able to make that happen, making me SOOO much happier. The car was fantastic, I had a 2020 KIA Forte which was absolutely amazing on gas. It was immaculate as far as cleanliness and condition. Drop of was very easy and the gentleman helped me by explaining where I needed to go since I was flying home.

This location has agents that intentionally scam customers to meet their quotas. We said no to all extra charges. When we see the expected total is $200 than we expect, we ask them to confirm the $200 will fall off, and that the total will be $202. They say yes, absolutely. No...the total was $602 for a $202 car, they tacked on multiple extra fees. We look it up and see that they are known for intentionally taking advantage of families with young children who are distracted, which we are. Resolving with them is a nightmare as they intentionally scam you. You are required to try to do it in-person at their poorly managed desk. ...I have no idea how a company is allowed to operate like this. Avoid at all costs. One star because I had to select something.

DON’T RENT A CAR FROM THRIFTY OR DOLLAR CAR RENTAL!! I gave it one star but there should be a ZERO-star option for terrible businesses like Thrifty. First, we stood in line for 2 hours at Tampa Airport even though we had a booked reservation. When we got to where the cars were supposed to be the employees very rudely said they were out of cars, and we would have to wait even longer. When we finally got the car, it was obvious from all the dog hair inside that the vehicle had not been cleaned. There was writing all over the windshield that didn’t seem to bother the Thrifty employees one bit. There were no other cars available according to employees. After our vacation we received an email from Thrifty regarding my booking experience. We told them everything, but they couldn’t care less about paying customers. Worst car rental experience we’ve ever had.

I didn't have any problems renting from Thrifty. I usually use Enterprise. My flight got in 8+ hours late, and there wasn't an issue with getting a car. The car was decent a Nissan and I prepaid for gas. There was no line, but it was 10pm. No problems returning vehicle. Leave keys in car and go. Receipt was emailed.

Money i saved not worth it….
