Hobbes has consistently improved week to week and is getting calmer around other dogs. We have used other trainers over time; this is the most consistent improvement we have seen and we highly recommend them

They are the best dog training in town. The staff is knowledgeable and very professional. I’d give them 10 stars if I could! Our dog Lucy stayed for a week and came home a new dog.

Sit Means Sit was referred to us from a friend that used their services. We took our first golden back in 2023 during our family vacation. We elected to enroll our dog in the 10 day board and train program. The experience was great! The staff is very knowledgeable and we saw great results. They also provided us pictures and videos daily while we were away. Needless to say, when we adopted our second dog we immediately looked at Sit Means Sit to get our second golden up to speed. We will be using the board and train program at the end of March to have both dogs trained together.

Had considered bringing my doodle here for over a year and the instant results made me wish I’d come sooner! Since bringing my dog to SitMeansSit - his door manners are a ten and he’s been able to go to public parks and beaches without the stress of jumping, pulling, planting. He can now be walked by anyone, with slack on the leash, and listens/makes eye contact when being given a command. Giving him a job has been a great way to manage zoomies or extra energy as well!Well worth the investment to see the changes already taking place, and it’s opened up so many more options to take him out in public. Thank you!

Dog abusers that use fear, pain and manipulation to "train" dogs. These methods are dangerous and antiquated and should be replaced by positive reinforcement training.Their consultation was misleading - they showed they employ the use of e-collars, but little did we know that's ALL they do. Just pain and fear-based training. And so we hired Mark to "train" reactivity out of our middle-aged rescue dog. Over the course of the training our dog was in extreme pain and distress, looking to us for help as Mark tried to shock him into submission with stronger and stronger shocks. We felt bad even using the shock collars ourselves, and so we cancelled the training halfway through the number of sessions. We have since made amazing strides with our dog purely through positive reinforcement training over the course of several years. That's what it takes to train a dog - consistent, patient, positive reinforcement, not electric shocks and fear. We'll never give Sit Means Sit our money again and are disappointed in ourselves for having done so.

Great experience! Took my 8 month old German Shepherd here to mainly work on loose leash walking and after 3 day sessions, he is doing much better! He mainly worked with Kris and Tanner who were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They were able to work on different items we needed help with and give me tips to use at home. Tina in the office is also super friendly! Overall great experience and would recommend checking out Sit Means Sit.

Sit Means Sit is amazing! All the staff is super knowledgeable AND patient with the ones who really need the training…AKA the owners!! LOL. Well worth the money to do the board and train, and the 6 months of group classes. Big Tex was struggling with resource guarding and would bite when you take something away from him but he is quickly learning to stop his bad behaviors. Fantastic support staff!! Highly recommend!

Brought my dog in for aggressive behavior training because of biting. All they did with teach him how to heel, come, wait, place, etc. Not we what asked for.

*novel incoming*Started the journey with my gsd about 2 years ago. I do not trust easily, but I trust them. The staff are always on point and ready to help. While my dog had some foundations training prior, he was very true to being a shepherd and I struggled with him constantly testing his obedience and my patience. I still get frustrated about it, but SMS gave me the knowledge and tools to handle it. I appreciate the board & train program. It is really convenient to be able to have boarding while on vacation and the tune-up of training at the same time. I had to board my pup at the vet once due to an emergency and he came back with a host of problems I then had to correct. I am very thankful for SMS and will be a customer for life.

We got a rescue dog in September and needed good effective training, sit means sit was amazing. He picked up his training better than I thought bc he’s a stubborn dog. It’s been super helpful and we’re using them for additional boarding while out of town too and I love knowing he’s getting refreshed on his training and in good hands, getting lots of attention and loves and feels comfortable with everyone who works there! 10/10 recommend!

I brought my mixed breed rescue with aggression issues for board and train. He came out a different dog. He’s still a work in progress but definitely better.

It was like a night and day difference from before and after training. We wish we had done it much sooner!

HUGE thank you to Kris and Megan and the team. My 9 month old German Aussie had a good foundation, but major puppy impulses. He did the five day board and train and has come back so much better, the collar makes the world of difference. He listens so much better, he gets tired so much more because he’s mentally working his brain so often. We look forward to the sixth month of classes! Worth every penny for the investment to have a high drive working puppy trained for life. Took lots of stress off my plate.
