We've been back twice and we'll be back again. This is a 40 minute drive for us but for our pup to get some off leash beach time it's worth it. By the water is pretty rocky with the exception of one area (shown in the video) so you'll want something on your feet. There's a pretty big parking lot that's free. The first time we went (a Monday holiday) it wasn't too busy and all the dogs were really well behaved. Those who didn't have a good recall on their dog seemed to keep them on a leash. I appreciate this. The last time we went it was busier (a Sunday). One person didn't have control over her dog and it kept going after dogs and being a little too rough. It wouldn't bother me normally, but my dog was clearly uncomfortable with this and she did nothing. It went after our dog when she was in the water playing with us so we got between them. At that point our dog was showing teeth so we moved to the other side of the park. In the meantime her dog went to the bathroom and she pretended not to see it. Besides her, everyone else I saw cleaned up after their dog. It's a big enough area that you can separate yourself from one dog by walking further down. There's more grass as you walk further down and a handful of picnic tables. A couple are in the shade. It'd make a good place to train your dog to stay or practice recall. There's a disk golf area right on the side of the beach and a lot of the disk golfers brought their dogs too. If you can go during the week it'd probably be safer.

Lovely place for the paws to play! Partial fence is down near the front but overall it’s all fenced in and well kept!

Playground: Nice fenced dog area with picnic tables and shade trees.
Toilets: Nearby and amazingly clean
Dog-friendliness: Definitely a dog friendly park with the dog beach. Animals are allowed elsewhere on leash.
Picnic area: Picnic areas are throughout the park

It's free! The water is shallow enough to wade pretty far out. The water is clear. There are picnic tables and benches to sit at while your dog runs off leash. It's completely fenced in so you can relax more without worry as the dogs play. But I won't be back because it was very, very rocky and thus difficult to walk along the shore and in the water. You need to wear shoes. I had on flip flops, but one came off in the water and stepping to get it was difficult bc it is so rocky that I literally couldn't walk. The rocks are sharp. I cut the bottom of my foot on a rock. The gash is about two inches long and painful, fairly deep and bled. The rocky surface just wasn't enjoyable, I don't know how the dogs do it. But there are much nicer dog beaches with soft sand and no rocks.

My dog and wife were attacked by 2 large dogs. The owner just kept saying it was our fault. There dog just ran up and started attacking. Will never be back such ignorant people and dangerous place.

Nice small beach for dogs, it was clean and it had a hose to clean the sand from the dogs. It has a fence that shows you where the dogs' beach ends

It's clear Mayor Castor has ignored the county park. Set in a run down industrial area, this park has great potential if not for the lack of effort to keep it up. The pictures speak for themselves. This is a dog beach in ruin.
Toilets: Use only if you absolutely have to go. These facilities are far from sanitary.
Dog-friendliness: At low tide the fence is deficient. Also, the fence is broken in two other spots. The area will not contain dogs.

There was random dog poop all over the park. Other than that needing to be cleaned up, it's a wonderful perk for your dog!
UPDATE--I left a previous review, and I must admit that the cleaning services here have upgraded significantly! I'm not certain if it was a bad week when I visited before, but we've been visiting the last few weeks and it has been spotless! No poop or debris ANYWHERE! The cleaning crew are so helpful and nice. Total 5 star review all the way baby!!
About the actual park: it's off the leash, kind of small but makes up in length, it's got its own ocean with sand, a washing station to rinse you+dog off after visit and it's all fenced in for safety!! The park also doubles as Frisbee park and a fishing marina so it's a win-win! ❤️

I'd highly recommend someplace else!
Extremely dirty with trash all over..
Looks more like a dumpsite than anything. There is so much trash left behind from locals.. Should be ashamed! Trashy people are leaving trash behind! Definitely will not return!!

It could be a nice place, but there were quite a few big dog poops lying around which was greatly disappointing. People, even at the dog park, should pick up after their pooch !
