Super cool vibes, great music and books selections! There was also a cute office dog lol - haven't tried the coffee yet but it was a busy place so that's a good sign! I'd recommend for sure.

I stopped by here today in hopes I could browse the records, get a cup of coffee, try to work, get distracted, and go home. Without fail, this is manageable. Has the lavender dream latte which was very good, it didn't taste quite like what I'm used to in lavender lattes but I liked it. I'm not a huge coffee freak or anything but it was definitely like an interesting flavor profile or whatever. I also got an eggnog muffin which isn't something I would have thought to get but it looked really good. Unsurprisingly, delicious. The vibes were fantastic for work/study. Thought a couch would make it the ULTIMATE study spot. Just a generally calm and cozy vibe. Friendly baristas and other folks working at the record table. Highly recommend you stop by.

This shop is FANTASTIC! They have delicious coffee and loads of inexpensive books. There's really something for everyone. They even have a large section of manga and graphic novels.

3 stars seems too low, but 4 seems too high imo. I recently moved back to Tampa and went back to Mojo to see the "new" shop or bigger location. Its been a decade or so ago since I had been there. The store is bigger now, but more music than books than I remember. I would call this a record store with some books, rather than a bookstore with some records. That's not the reason for my neutral rating, but I thought it was worth mentioning to any readers that see this review. The store seems a bit disorganized and the staff don't appear to have any clear direction on what they are supposed to be doing, or more maybe they have some apathy towards efficiency. I was there on a Saturday (today), which is presumably one of their busier days. There was 3 people working, one guy not available to the customers - sitting at a "register closed" counter, one staff member working behind the cafe counter, and one guy just walking around doing random tasks, like moving a book from one shelf to another. Essentially the guy working behind the cafe counter was the only one doing anything. It was a busy day, at a bigger location, and only one guy responsible for taking orders, making drinks, and ringing up customers. Needless to say, there was a long line of customers in the cafe line. The 3 man team felt no sense of urgency. The guy at the "register closed" desk locked his gaze onto his computer screen the way a child stares at an iPad to avoid interaction with adults. The guy behind the cafe counter was ringing up customers at a snails pace, as if there was no line at all, and the random tasks guy was doing just that - random tasks...such as moving a book from one shelf to another. Finally, cafe guy asked the random task guy for help ringing up customers, to which he replied "hmmm - I can make drinks". No fucking help at all. He didn't say, let me make a couple drinks and ring up some customers. He said, I'm gonna make some lattes now, good luck ringing up this line that keeps growing. When I finally got to the front of the line, the guy didn't say "sorry for the wait" or anything like that. He rang me up and kept winking at me. I don't know if he was trying to hit on me, has some form of tourettes, or if that's just his personality. It felt kind of awkward. He handed me a punch card, so that if I buy 9 more books I get a free book or something like that, the next I come. I don't the exact terms, I didn't really look at it. I already knew I wasn't going back anytime soon. ...So why 3 stars and not 2 or 1? Despite the poor service, they have a cool selection of records, books, and media. Personally, I am sucker for independent bookstores. I hate to say it, but I'd still go to Mojo over a Barnes-and-Noble. I think If I were just sitting at the cafe for a coffee and not actually shopping, my experience would have been a little more positive.

I've been coming here for years and thought it appropriate to share some love for this Tampa staple. Truly, there is no shortage of wonderful things to say about Mojo: excellent record selection with excellent prices, loads of used books to get lost in, gifts & clothing, posters, great food & beverages, friendly staff, & a generous punch card program. I've both bought & sold here for probably a decade, & having visited record stores across the country, Mojo has a special place in my heart. Whether you're looking for something specific or feel like discovering something new, this is a must-visit.

I love this place. I went recently after a few years of not going. The change in location within the plaza is quite the upgrade! Grab a nice cup of coffee, check out the book selection, and peruse the vinyl section- you won't regret it!

Great book and record store. Very friendly staff. Large selection of both books and records. Great place to get lost in all the books. We will be back.

Melanie went above and beyond helping me acquire a replacement cord for my daughter’s record player. Wish I could have met her to thank her in person! She also set the customer service bar exponentially high in dealing with me. Her demeanor was effervescent, and cordial. Not the same can be said about the barista. She seemed to have a chip on her shoulder and begrudgingly prepared our drinks. Mine was flavorless, my husbands was legit. I gave a $7 tip for two beverages. She grabbed my money (never said thanks) and shoved it in a jar almost as to emphasize I should have known it went there. Not friendly at all. Boo!Thank you Melanie! ????

Great vibes! If you're wanting some cool, unique reads at a decent price, this is the place to go. Plus they offer a wide selection of music. They even have some more contemporary reading materials. I love coming here.

I used to visit MOJO a lot before Covid and loved the female barista who made the drinks there. I moved away from the area and recently visited again with a friend saying good things about the place. However it was super disappointing. The drinks are no longer the same, it was just poorly made. I also remember the friendly environment and I was appalled at the poor customer service delivered by the guy at the front (long curly hair guy). It seemed like he didn't even want to be there nor did he seem like he wanted to make my drink.Anyway I ignored it and he gave me my drinks and I asked for straws and he just pointed to the side and goes it's over there. I told him there are no straws there and he seemed very annoyed and went "okay, give me a minute!" My friend and I were both just taken a back like what... How do you talk to your customers like that.My friend just ignored it saying maybe that's just how he is but to me this was very rude especially if I'm paying for this kind of service. Any way I was disappointed and upset to bring my friend here and sad to say I lost good memories of this place and won't be returning. After looking at other reviews I can tell this was not his first time being like this and the drinks have down graded.

First time going there everything nice and enjoyable just came here with friends to look around in hopes of finding anything in interest , we went up to ask questions to the workers, they were talking and my friends and I decided to wait until they were done, after they finished their conversation I asked a worker with long hair and glasses if they can find a specific book for me, once again this is my first time here, so I asked if they had a system to search up books in their store (I’ve been to places where they didn’t have that feature) as I’m doing so the worker rudely says along the lines of “ well that’s what I’m doing right now aren’t I” pointing to the computer , the comment caught me off guard but I continued to ask the worker for the book they said no so I continued on with my looking, afterward my friend also asked the same worker a question and came back with a frown, they then proceeded to tell me they found the workers attitude very rude. This made no sense as we saw them talking freely and happily with their colleagues. As someone with customer service experience I understand we do have some bad days but it’s uncalled for especially when we respectfully waited for them to finish their conversation and didn’t even say anything other then ask a question to them. The small interaction felt very unwelcoming as if it an inconvenience to them to do their job. Nice place but not a nice first impression of customer service, I’ve read some other reviews here talking about the rude workers, sadly that was the case here, hope this is helpful for future customers and future management.

No idea how I've missed this place before now, but stopped by for the first time today and will be returning. The used books are in wonderful shape and the selection of records is great. Love the vibes! Will grab a latte next time and really considering getting a record player to play some of these albums!!

Was in the area with some friends from Indiana. Found this place on Google. It gives me the vibe of Half Priced Bookstore. I love how they had a Pride and Juneteenth section set up. Had a coffee joint in it and it was good. The vibe of the store is set.

I’m moving out of Tampa soon & the main thing I’m going to miss the most is this store. Great selections of books & music with great prices compared to other stores in my opinion. The mini cafe area is top tier & everything tastes sooooo delicious. Their store music is awesome & the whole team is very friendly. I’m begging you guys to open a store in Orlando because I honestly don’t know any other book & record stores like this one <333!!!

Dropped in for RSD, and it was easy to browse their incredible vinyl selection. I need to visit again!
