I file with TurboTax every year, I pay $89, and get my refund up to 5 days early with my chime card. This year I needed the refund advance. I spoke with a virtual rep named Manisha in FL, I was crystal clear I need the advance. She said I need to go in person for an emerald card to do the advance. I go in person and get a card. I call her and let her know. She then files my taxes and this ends up issuing another emerald card with a different number (didn’t have to waste my time and go in person). My federal and state taxes were accepted on 2/7, as advertised funds come within minutes after acceptance. I call customer service 2/8 and they state there are no refund advance applications on my account at all. I call Manishas office in FL and speak with her assistant manager who answered. He confirms they selected advance refund and would have Manisha look into it and call me back. She never returned my call, so I called back and she lied saying she spoke with finance and I was denied the advance. I asked why didn’t I receive a denial notification and why does customer service say they still don’t see any applications…she switched her story and said I wasn’t denied and would speak with her manager and call me back. 2 days later I’ve still heard nothing. There is clearly a discrepancy in the systems and no one at H&R Block was willing to take ownership and see what happened. Rather just brush me off and so “oh well”. So now I’m stuck with no refund advance and paying $500 with my funds going on a prepaid card around 2/28, 3 weeks away. When I could have stayed right where I was, paid $89, got my return 5 days early, and had it deposited into my actual bank account. Will never ever use H&R Block again.

Ms. Patel did my taxes and she made my experience the best ever! I had a tricky tax form due to multiple issues but she was very knowledgeable and was able to figure it out. She educated me thoroughly and makes sure I had no questions before I left the building. She was able to answer all of my questions and I left a satisfied and educated client. Thank you again to Ms. Manisha Patel for all of your hard work, I will be coming back.
