Cassandra at the GNC 533 S. Howard Ave, Tampa was amazing. She knows her products and gave suburb service!!!! GNC is lucky to have her. Great service is hard to find. I'll be returning again soon. Tina B

Customer service and professionalism is non existent. This used to be a great store, not sure what happened. They don’t honor their own return policy, the only person in the store was new and had no idea how to even operate the cash register. So disappointing. Oh well, off to The Vitamin Shoppe ;)

I bought protein powder online and tried to return it in June 2023. They flat refused to let me return it, even after I read the return policy verbatim to them off of GNC's website. I called GNC's customer service line, who confirmed that the Howard location's refusal was against GNC's return policies. They gave me a return code and I was able to go back the next day and essentially force them to accept/refund me for it.

Wilfredo is a terrible employee! I walk in the store hoping to find something to kick off a detox on my journey to just live a healthier life. Wilfredo doesn't greet me, doesn't ask if I need help, and doesn't seem to be at work at all. I ask about the product I had heard about since I figured he wouldn't be very helpful. Once I pick up the detox I head to the register and Wilfredo is cold and seems to just want to get me out the store. I ask him if the product was good for detoxing but he cut me off and kind of just stared. I asked why he did that and his response was "Oh I cut you off because most customers ask if this drink cleans out drugs" My mind is boggled at the fact he would even make that assumption since I never said that, tried to ask for help prior, and never alluded to anything about drugs. It seems pretty discriminatory that he would jump to that conclusion. When I questioned him he just rushed me out the store then looked at me until I made it to my car. I've visited this particular location a few times and was never treated this way. Wilfredo clearly does not like his job and his values do not align with those of GNC.

My experience was absolutely horrible at this location. I was shopping for a new protein powder when I overheard a customer ask about a car that was parked in the front and if the employee knew who's car it was. The employee responded by saying "some skinny guy and his ugly a** girlfriend walked out of it" - little did he know I was the girl he was talking about. I confronted him about the comment and was completely disgusted by his behavior. He continued to laugh and instead of acknowledging what just happened or even apologizing, he looked at who I think was the manager and said "don't write me up" while I was STILL STANDING THERE. Not only was this behavior unacceptable but I was baffled at the lack of respect for potential costumers. If these are the standards that GNC is teaching their employees to follow considering they are offering wellness products then I don't know how anyone is supposed to feel comfortable enough to ask for help when they are automatically being judged before they walk in the door. It is safe to say that I nor anyone else I know will be coming back to GNC knowing that they could be treated this way.
