This place is amazing. It is not a "junk" shop, as many antique stores are. Most antiques look brand new. If you are looking for cheap, this is not the store for you. If you are looking to invest in quality antiques, then this is the store for you.

A unique hidden gem here in Tampa,FL. Filled with tons of history; every piece has been carefully selected. The lamps and furniture are to die for. Everything else is just so unique! I can spend hours here just browsing and admiring every piece of history in this store! Please go check this place out! Pictures do not do it justice

Very authentic Antiques. Spent at least an hour or more looking around at all the most iconic historical pieces from all around the world. Absolutely interesting and fantastic articles and books. Everything in here has a story behind it. So fascinating and interesting to look at. Some of the most beautiful Antique pieces I have ever seen. If you Love History and Antiques this is a must go to place. You will never forget it.

We visited this delightful shop yesterday and it is a feast for the eyes . Incredible , quality items of all sorts and the owner Evangeline was so kind and helpful without being intrusive. The poor reviews are either from people who don’t know true quality antiques or expect yard sale prices . This isn’t a shop you’d take small children to as the items are too tempting and it’s not the space for children . We will definitely be back ?

Firstly, I was hesitant to visit due to the way this store responds to Google reviews here made by their customers. The responses are blunt, rude at times and very stern. Lack of humility and customer service. The place is packed floor to ceiling, wall to wall, of beautiful pieces to look at. When I visited, the woman (wife) owner seemed to follow us around/ask if I needed help so often that I became uncomfortable and felt rushed to look at everything. It’s a bummer they don’t allow customers to take video/photos of pieces. I usually take photos in places like this to ponder and to also remember where a piece was so I can buy it later perhaps. That was a major disappointment. If they want people to spend hundreds+, let them take photos so they can go home and in-vision it in the space they’re wanting to place the item.If you visit, be sure to have at least $500 to spend. Not kidding. They pride themselves for having authentic antiques in which the husband and wife owners of 40+ years have and picked themselves. I can appreciate and respect that each piece is hand picked and curated… and may even be 100+ years old (I’m no expert to verify). However, I certainly believe they take advantage of the wealthy population in South Tampa; seems very overpriced (they will probably respond harshly to my comment ?). Honestly, if you’re looking for vintage/antiques at a more reasonable price, I recommend downtown Plant City or Somewhere in Time in Brandon.Lastly, I would return here if I was looking for a niche piece and was okay spending a couple hundred or $1k for it.

The person who owns this store is unbelievably rude. I called to ask a simple question if they would be interested in buying some “old corningware” from my grandmother’s house (from the 50s and 60s). Rather than saying yes or no, he proceeded to shame me and make fun of me for calling them “old,” explaining his store carries items that are 100 years old. I said “ok, that’s fine. My question still remains. Are these items you would be interested in or no?” And again, rather than answering, mocked me and said “we buy old items.” I hung up the phone. Called the next store, who was so polite in answering a simple question. I was on speaker and my husband heard the whole conversation and couldn’t believe how he spoke to me.

Went here to service the store's AC and was amazed at how great the store was. The store owner is friendly, polite and extremely helpful. Will definitely return as a customer.

This store has a wide range of antiques and collectibles. The merchandise and selection is outstanding. However, the couple who own this business, over-price everything. The prices are extremely exorbitant; compared to other antique stores in the Tampa Bay area, I would never shop there again!A friend of mine tried to sell them an exquisite bronze statue on a marble base. The statue was appraised, several years ago, at 5k. Two different appraisers certified that it was indeed, bronze. The owners of the store, told my friend that the statue was not bronze, and that it was worth about $100 dollars. These two owners are not truthful or fair in their dealings.About two months later, I went into the store, and the same exact statue was being sold for $6500. I would never do business with them again. They buy low, and sell high. I get that people need to make a profit, but these two owners will never get my business again.

My wife and I recently spent some time at Gaslight Antiques, and we thought the place was incredible. The owners were friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Everything on the floor was high quality and very authentic. If you're looking for a great place to find that unique piece, or just to look around, this is the place to go. What a selection!

I absolutely love walking through this place and the lady who owns this place is the nicest person in the world. I don’t know anything about antiques but the prices are ridiculously high and out of my budget. Wish one day they start dropping prices so I can’t afford something without feeling guilty buying it.

I can’t stop thinking about visiting this place and seeing a number of anachronisms. Some of their pieces are legitimate, but they also appear to upscale cheap modern things to pass off as antiques and charge exorbitant prices for them, or they repaint older items to meet modern sensibilities of what antiques “should” look like. The pieces are beautiful, interesting, and clean, and the collection is well curated, so if you’re mainly looking for nice decorative pieces this may be the place for you. If you’re looking for collectible antiques and authenticity is important, you may want to consider having a second opinion from an expert before you spring for something since originals and doctored pieces are intermixed throughout the store and the prices aren’t cheap.Update, in response to owners’ commentary: it should be noted I am not the first reviewer to make comments of this nature, including other reviewers who noted they bought things they later discovered were fakes. Perhaps the owner is speaking the truth that they do not repaint things, but then I would wonder where they source things like this apothecary trunk from the 1870s that is clearly painted with the word mescaline even though mescaline was not isolated until 1897 and wasn’t synthesized artificially until 1919 and was additionally unlikely to have been synthesized in quantities large enough to have justified an entire trunk being devoted entirely to hauling it around with the word mescaline painted in it. Perhaps they should vet their suppliers more carefully. Sincerely, a historian of science writing a book on the history of psychedelics.
