I had heard many good things about this location and had to check it out for a routine service. I'm pleased to say I had a wonderful and speedy experience having my vehicle serviced here and look forward to returning whenever I need anything else done. Had work done at Tire Town and Muffler on 1406 S Monroe St. for years, I kept giving this mechanic the benefit of the doubt despite several bad experiences. The last straw was when I had my clutch replaced. When I got my vehicle back it was clearly making a constant squeaking noise and there was another issue with the clutch pedal. I brought it back immediately and showed the mechanic. At first he claimed to not hear it, then claimed that he could hear it, but it was not because of the work he did. He refused to fix it. I had to bring it to another mechanic. They quickly identified that the clutch fork was not placed back into my vehicle properly and to fix it, I had to have my entire transmission removed again, which ran me WELL over $1000.00.
Before that, I had an issue with my wheels locking up, it took Tire Town 3 visits to fix this problem. They did not fix it the first 2 visits, each time I’d tell them the problem was still happening and they would tell me the work they did “needed to be fixed anyway.” So I had to pay for it. On the 3rd visit, I used the Internet and learned what the actual issue was and told them to fix that. ? And my problem was finally fixed! 3 bills for one problem, woo-hoo!
This isn’t even every issue I’ve had with Tire Town, only the most expensive.
It’s been years since I’ve been to this mechanic and I still occasionally feel pain over the thousands of dollars I’ve wasted here. Now I go to a nicer mechanic on a better side of town. I’ve never had issues like this. The prices are not noticeably different and I feel great about the quality of work I’m having done.
Update: As mentioned in my review, Tire Town and Muffler was already made aware of, and given an opportunity to rectify, the concerns I had with the quality of work they did on my last visit. They refused. I was left high and dry, with no choice but to have another mechanic fix the improperly placed clutch fork completely out of my own pocket. This review stays, for the sake of saving another customer from financial heartache.

My absolute favorite shop in town. Super sweet and very helpful. It feels like your dad and big older brother are taking care of your vehicle. They even stayed late to make sure I got my jeep back and safe for me to drive before the weekend! Love these guys.

Cut out a part of my exhaust pipe i wanted to keep, so i had to wait an extra 45 minutes. The welding job was poorly done, and they used non galvanized metal on extension sections, which has already rusted over completely. Price was acceptable if the jobs were done a bit better. All that being said, the staff was very kind and resolved the mix-up at the beginning very quickly.

Tire Town and Muffler has been my "go to" mechanic shop since 2006. I have nothing but good to say about this family-owned business! I have had my truck worked on twice in the last month and it was returned as good as new both times! It's nice to have a shop where you can take your vehicle and KNOW that it will be repaired in a timely manner and at a fair price.

Joey and David are Awesome! The customer service is great and all mechanics are very helpful. Dealerships and bigger repair places give you all these recommendations just for you to spend money. This place will work with you and will likely give you a discounted price for diagnostics. When I can, I run things by them as a second source.

I've been utilizing this car repair shop for at least 20 years now. Dave and his family do a wonderful job diagnosing and repairing vehicles. Their prices are great and they do a wonderful job allowing you to see what you need to take care of now and what you might be able to put off for a little while. This is definitely a local car repair shop that should be supported.
