It was a fun place to go to. It's a good place for kids too. It was fun to see the animals and to walk around the old buildings.

"Hidden gem" is overused but describes this place.
Beautiful, serene environment. The animal environments looked spacious and interesting.
Food at the cafe was delicious.
Loved the historic buildings.
Had such a great day, bought a membership before I left.
Don't miss this. Great day for families, young kids, couples, everybody.

Very nice place. It's really nice to see they have a place like that here. However, the place is getting a bit overgrown and might need some renovation

Hidden gem! We went for Ziplining, and it was amazing. We flew over wildlife, history exhibits, and swamps. The zipline featured obstacle courses as well. There is a zipline for children as well, due to the height limit. The children's zipline is done quickly, but there is much to do aside from ziplining as well.and The children in our group had fun visiting the exhibits with grandma while myself and Dad swung over top. We even waved a few times. Parking was difficult but free. 10/10 recommend

I spent 8 years or so earning a 4 year degree at FSU and to my deep regret, never took the opportunity to visit the Tallahassee Museum while I lived in the city. We now live about 3 hours north and were in town for a concert, so decided to stop by before heading home.
It was a treat to walk among the wildlife, learn about various fauna native to Florida and even discover that the breeding red wolf pair had recently had a litter - very exciting for the critically endangered species.
We decided to do the zip line course as well, and it was a blast. Toward the end of the course, though, my wife Sam zipped a little too zippy and came in hot onto the landing platform. She lost her hat and glasses to the swampy bog below, dropping about 20 feet into the shallow marshy bank, thought to be forever lost to fate and a carpet of duckweed.
But fret not dear reader, for our zippy guide braved the tea-colored bog to retrieve both pieces of apparel. After a diligent 20 minute hunt through the muck he emerged victorious, glasses in hand, saving the day and Sam's eyesight. We couldn't have been more thankful and frankly surprised; this isn't the kind of customer service offered just anywhere.
So if you are near Tallahassee and looking for a fun outdoor adventure, stop by the Tallahassee Museum. It's my favorite kind of museum, and if you are prone to losing stuff rest assured the staff has your back.

Took my daughter on the ropes course one person advised she was too short and the guy Tom said to go ahead and then when she couldn’t complete the course because of her reach they offered 0 refund not even a partial when we didn’t even complete the other course and paid for both. Been coming here since a kid and this place has gone down hill.

This place is so amazing that we are going back next week. The best ever adventure in the entire state!!!My child and I had fantastic 2h of pure enjoyment climbing obstacles and zip-lining through beautiful surroundings of enchanted forest. We had a great guide as well and want to thank him for his help and patience. It really felt like an adventure through the jungle. Worth driving from any distance. I would take a day off from the beach just to be there. WARMLY RECOMMENDING IT TO ALL!

If you're thinking, "the state capital of a tourist state must have a fantastic museum," then you don't know Tallahassee. This is less of a city museum/zoo and more of a Billy Bob's Gator Emporium where you're left wondering if you did actually find the right place. Don't get me wrong, the staff seemed to care, and the animals were taken care of, but it was also in the middle of the woods surrounded by swamps, and you could tell.
Probably my biggest complaint is the one bridge over the swamp that was pretty rotted and felt unsafe to be on the entire time. I'm not talking about turning brown and peeling paint, I'm talking squelching wood that leaks water like a sponge and leaves an indent of your foot. On the other hand, the bridge around the gators actually seemed to be in good repair, which was relieving.
I suppose if I had realized that Tallhassee was a fairly rural city, none of this would have been surprising. It was just surprising coming from another Florida city and having expectations for the state capital to appear something like Orlando, Jacksonville, or Tampa. Just know what to expect. I would describe it as a nature walk around a small collection of late 1800s farm houses that also has a couple of native animals, and sometimes you see a metal dino sculpture.
