This place is trash. They say they help for free, but what you get is people that have no idea how to do their jobs... First it months for them to respond. The first "advocate" Jennifer Coburn said on the phone that there were so many violations then 2 days later said there isnt. Her bosses disagreed with her, got transferred to an ruder person who basically told be something totally different. Then they dropped the case and now because of there incompetence I may not be able to sue the district. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!

My son could not have had better advocate fight on his behalf, Ms. Alvarez was so incredible and knowledgeable, everything she did was always in the best interest of my son. We had several meetings with his school and her integrity and professionalism with school staff, my son and myself, was nothing less than exemplary. Her hard work is greatly appreciated, there are no words to express our gratitude. My son is on his way to being successful, with the accommodations that has been put in place to help him achieve those successes, because of her insistence, persistence and unwavering determination to ensure that he received the accommodations tailor made for his educational needs. We are eternally grateful to this organization and the amazing work it has provided for my son.

Does NOT help disabled persons or with civil rights for people of color.
Was contacted by Heather whom refused to answer any questions and only provided advice to request a public defender.
After asking Heather 7 different questions she chose the “tape-recorder” treatment which only further triggered my daughter’s severe panic after being rudely dismissed.
It’s hard to believe that this type of treatment or rude and dismissive behavior is advocating for the civil rights of anyone disabled.
Signed,
A breast cancer leadership advocate

I have absolutely no words to describe how thankful I am to them, specially to Selina! She is an angel in our lives! We needed their help twice in two years and they were there for my child, always! In every meeting, every email, always getting out of their way to help no matter the time I would send emails! Selina has put all her heart into helping my child. I will never ever ever be able to pay it back, and will never find enough words to express how grateful I am for having her in our lives when we needed the most!
Thank you, guys! Thank you for not giving up on my child even when the fight got stressful! Thank you, Selina, for speaking up on behalf of my child and making sure his rights and needs were respected and attended. You guys are incredibly great! ❤️

Doesn't help students with disabilities stear clear. Was told by one of their attorneys that my kid doesn't need to know how to read since 67 percent of children in Florida can't read on grade level.

Tried to get help from DRF in February. DRF has only made my case worse and still having problems in August. The system has completely screwed up. Disabled people don't have rights in the state of Florida

Online form filled out and submitted.Reply included information about 10 days waiting period for someone to contact us.Never happned.E-mailed twice.Ignored. Seems like one of those places where they charge state government for doing nothing.Just a front for another mythological "disability rights" organization.

Call is screened by an automated system. The person who returned my call couldn't assist me. I was told that that the person I need was out of the office. Three weeks have passed & I haven't heard from anyone.
