Banking with Capital City most of my life, it's a level of service I've come to enjoy. With plenty of opportunities for problems in today's business world, their folks always help us straighten them out. Thanks for the great service.

All i wanted to do was wait inside for my Uber to pick me up. Also wanted to inquire about maybe changing banks from Bank of America. The woman almost didn't let me in! Almost profiled me, felt suspicious of my intent. Told me to sit in the corner like i was in trouble, and semi interrogated me about what i was doing?!?! I showed her proof and everything about my Uber picking me up and she still showed all the signs of being suspicious about me. Mind you I'm coming in with a suit and not imposing any type of threat whatsoever! I promise i won't do any banking here and i wouldn't advise anyone to do the same.

I don't understand this bank. It seemed like a good choice initially. We are snowbirds from AK, spending our first winter in Florida. We bought a little house in Branford, FL. There are only 2 choices for banks in Branford, we felt Capital was the best choice. However. April 5th, 2022 I booked and paid for a hotel room in Pinellas Park, FL. Upon arriving at the hotel, I was told I had to pay them. They were not interested in my paying for the room an hour earlier. I assumed the first charge would fall off. It didn't. Next day I called and could not talk to anyone or even leave a message with the booking company. I went to the Branford Capital City Bank. The nice lady said let's wait and see. Did that. Nada. Went back to bank. Filed report with nice lady. Waited. Got letter from Capital City, letter said it was 'Merchant Dispute', whatever that is. They said it wasn't fraud. I paid twice for one room. Seems like fraud to me. They wanted me to fill out form answering more questions (why didn't nice lady ask them?). Didn't want to fill out form. Called them. Was told 'it's a merchant dispute, we can't help' Again, FRAUD, and why can't they help. Called back. Got same runaround. They can't even tell me what a merchant dispute is. Got phone number to talk to a higher up. Wife called and waited on hold most of the afternoon. Gave up. These types of things have happened occasionally over the years with other banks. No sweat. These clowns just don't care, I guess. But again, I'm confused. We have quite a lot of money with them. Do they think if we just piss off that the money won't piss right along with us?

The virtual tellers are useless because I can't put coins in them (that's what one of the tellers told me) and I have coins in every deposit because I work at a school and can't control what I receive. Now with the lobby closed I have to drive out of my way to use a bank branch with a drive thru with a real person.

My review is of the corporate level, not a particular store. Been a customer for several years. I put substantial funds through them and maintain substantial funds there among other institutions. Went to Las Vegas in September, used my debit card about five times in two days without difficulty and for substantial sums. Third day there, I was denied use of my funds for a $5 purchase with thousands in my accounts. Called Tally store I use and, long story short, they had CANCELLED my debit card because I used it. Claimed that they called me to verify my use in LV, but I received no call, no voice message and no email. They were VERY SORRY, but only because I closed my several accounts. They will give you free pens and smiles and maybe a calendar, but they will summarily abandon your customer relationship with no warning causing you major inconvenience to avoid inconvenience to them by having to do their job. STAY AWAY FROM CAPITAL CITY BANKS!!
