I have taken my very old Camry and my daughter's very old Lexus to Capital City Auto Repair based on the Google reviews I found online when our normal mobile auto repair man was too busy to take care of our cars. The most detailed breakdown of car needs and repairs is sent via email along with a call where they go over all items needing repair. Since my daughter and I both have old cars, the breakdown was specific to things vitally needing repair all the way down to items that should be replaced or repaired based on regular upkeep recommendations (e.g., the cabin air filter). After getting the first estimate for my daughter's car, my mobile repair man checked the list out and said it is fair, so I went ahead with the repairs. While the repairs weren't cheap, they were fair in today's market and done quickly. I do recommend this shop for auto repair needs, even on cars that are 19 to 20 years old.

I tried calling and visiting this business in the past two weeks on five separate occasions but every time i tried to contact them, the phone line was disconnected and the door would be locked. I visited during business hours when the establishment said they were open but nobody was there. Very unprofessional and disappointing especially since I have visited Capital City Auto multiple times in the past get my car issues fixed with reasonable prices and no issue.

Replaced my back 3 engine coils and an o2 sensor and some more stuff at this shop. David was absolutely phenomenal he got all the work done on my car SO QUICK and was so helpful in explaining everything and breaking down the price for me. David was amazing to say the least. He provided great customer service by providing a detailed explanation of the issue and worked tirelessly until 11pm on my car to get me on the road. He was incredibly fair with the price of the repairs and the labor hours he put in. David is one of the realest dude I’ve met in Tallahassee. My sister brought David her car expecting to get a quote and get it fixed she dropped the vehicle off over 2 weeks ago and has since heard nothing she’s called them, texted them and Has had her friends drive her past the shop 4 times and every time the shop is closed and he car hasn’t been touched, keep in mind she’s a college student so you can imagine how not having a way of transportation can be stressful and expensive Uber rides. I would not recommend ANYONE to come to this place of business it is unprofessional & seems fishy.

David was absolutely amazing! He provided great customer crevice and worked tirelessly to diagnose the problem for an emergency tow on my old car. He stayed up late working (until 10pm) on my car to get me on the road and was the sweetest guy. He was incredibly fair with the price of the repairs and the labor hours he put in. Thank you David!

I received excellent service at Capital City Auto Repair. The owner, Dave, is very personable and he took the time to explain everything. I found him to be honest, passionate, and committed to excellence. His pricing is fair and quite frankly, he saved my life. He was able to identify faulty work done by another shop in town that could have ended disastrously for me. He identified and fixed the problem in less than a day. Speaking form my experiences of walking into repair shops as a woman, it is rare to find an honest and fair mechanic who does not try to get over on you. I would recommend Capital City Auto to anyone.Services: General repairs & maintenance

These gentlemen do GREAT work and they are HONEST about services needed and prices for them. It is just two of them so they are understaffed but David worked OVERNIGHT to ensure my car was done in a timely manner. Originally went to Pep Boys for service and wish I would've went here! David, the owner of this shop, is the definition of an honest hard working mechanic. He’s very detailed in his explanation as to why something is wrong with your car, which I believe is essential when it comes dealing with customers. I recommend 10/10.

This shop does incredible work. I've always brought my car there since I came to Tallahassee, and they have done excellent work on two different cars I've owned. One 2004 Ford Taurus, and one 2007 Subaru Outback. This time, David and Ben both did some work on my Subaru Outback wagon after a transmission seal broke. They and I all agreed that it was time to do some more extensive maintenance on the engine as well.I had no doubts that David would do a great job getting everything running the way it should, but I was still amazed by just how thorough and precise he was. The fuel efficiency has dramatically improved, the trademark fluid leaks most Subarus have are completely gone now, and in general the car performs so much better it almost seems impossible. So far, I have had no issues with any work they've ever done for me.And I've never seen the engine of a 14-year-old daily-driven car look so clean. Certainly never a car I've owned. He got every speck of buildup off of every part I can see, and when he showed me his progress partway through, I saw that even the parts that can't be seen now looked brand new. He even replaced clamps, hoses, and fasteners that had been missing or incorrectly placed since before I got this car.After extensive work on the motor, timing belt, transmission seals, power steering, and numerous other components, they got in touch to ask if they should go ahead and replace the old worn brake pads in the front, and the bad battery. Since they were doing so much more already, they worked out a good deal and I told them to go ahead. It was done a few minutes later, and I can't recommend this shop enough. It's absolutely the only place I want to take my car for engine repairs.It helps to go talk to them in person. They're all great people and they love what they do. They really care about doing the best work you can get.Services: Steering/Suspension
