Reserved a vehicle online and went 45 minutes out of the way to pick it up (nothing available closer to our home) and walked in very politely saying that we had a reservation. The lady at the front desk cut me off saying “we have no cars” no explanation or apology and that we needed to call Avis “Corporate” to see about our refund but told us it would take two weeks. Why tell an upset customer that? She just made it worse. Horrible customer service at this location.*Corporate was great, he apologized profusely and issued our refund instantly. It was already a pending credit with our bank within the hour.*

The agent at this location who helped me was J. She was fantastic! She rewrote the contract to suit my needs (a good amount of work) and was super friendly and patient with the people waiting. I never had a better rental car experience and will come again to this location because of her friendly and exceptional service.

Love it here! I travel often for work and this is the only rental place that I use. They are efficient and have good customer service. I used to go to Enterprise, but those places are ALWAYS packed with a bunch of people.

The staff here is the best. Very friendly and very helpful. Avis is my go to for car rentals in Stuart. Nice selection of cars and very professional.

Horrible customer service. Employee refused to give me her name. She was EXTREMELY rude! I noticed it when I went in to make the reservation but, let it go. Went to pick up the car and do to the credit card rules was told I could not pick it up. Tough rules but does not excuse the way I observed her treating customers before me then treated me poorly as well. The first time she treated a Veteran with absolute disdain. Obviously more concerned with her tv show than actually assisting customers with professionalism. Went back to Enterprise… worth the extra $100.00 for the month car rental to be treated with genuine courtesy. Thought we would try another car rental service but, never ever again.Stuart, Florida???

I am not a complainer and it is rare that I post a review, however I felt compelled to do so based on my last two experiences with Avis. The prior experience I already left a review, so I am sharing my recent experience which occurred only 3 days later at a different Avis office.I reserved a car for $73 to be picked up at Southwest Airport in Fort Myers on Wednesday and be returned the next day, Thursday by 10am.My reservation was for a 3pm pick up. I got to the airport at 4:30pm thinking my car would be readily available. I arrived at Avis, observed my name on the board, however no car assignment. I waited for approximately 25 minutes for the alphanumeric assignment to appear, but never did. I finally went to the window and received my car at 5:05pm.On Thursday morning, I decided to callA local Avis office in Stuart, FL on US 1 - Federal Hwy. and request if I could return the car to their office rather than drive 50 minutes to the airport in West Palm. The Avis rep said sure no problem. I thanked her stating that it is such a convenience and that she would be saving me much time.I arrived at the Avis office, the rep checked the odometer and rang up the charge. When she handed me my receipt, the charge was $388. After being astonished by this, I asked why this price as this was outrageous. The rep stated that it was because you are returning it to another site. I stated I spoke with you not an hour ago and you told me it was no problem. If you would have told me it would be $317 more, I would have taken it to PBI Airport. She stated that’s the rule. Well what choice do I have after I am already there and you ring me up without having any knowledge of the rules of this game. You had an opportunity to tell me the rule when I asked about returning it to you.I demanded she call someone and correct this. She finally called someone and they were able to manually cancel this charge and charge me my original reservation cost.This is the second time this week that I was charged a different price than my reservation. The worst is when you rent a car for 4 1/2 hours, use between a 1/2 and 3/4 tank of gas, and they charge you $61 dollars for a full tank. THAT is criminal and the Attorney General will be made aware.They need to train their associates to let the customer know the additional charges that will apply so we have the opportunity to make a choice. If they do, and the customer decides, then we own it, however when there are surprises and we’re not aware, that a below-board way of doing business.I will never use Avis again as these transactions are supposed to be convenient and seamless, however they clearly aren’t.

We were having serious car problems while in Stuart. So we needed to rent a car for a few days. We used Travelocity to book a 2 day car rental. We called to make sure our reservation was received. At the time, Jay said there was no car available and that Travelocity has a tendency to overbook. She asked for me to call later in the day and possibly something would open up. Instead of calling, we thought positive and headed over at the time of our rental. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a car, but Jay said if we could wait a little bit, something might open up. So after a bit of chitchat and a story about heading to the Mets game, we lucked out and there was a no show. We were able to get a rental. On top of that, it was a Tesla. Jay took the time to do a tiny test drive with us to make sure we were comfortable. She was kind, professional and very helpful. She really helped turn our unfortunate broke car situation around. Thanks for everything Jay!

Terrible customer service. The woman behind the counter was very rude. We were simply returning a car and she began yelling that we were going to be charged $450 for dog hair on the carpet. This was the last of many terrible experiences with Avis. This was the first and last time we use Avis

So disappointing! My friend Paula and I rented a car for two days during a short vacation trip. Since she had booked it through Costco, she was supposed to get a free upgrade to a Toyota Camry. Upon arriving, they quickly showed her a car, which had some big dents and said that was all they had. We left and realized that the car smelled of cigarettes. Since the windows were open, we didn't realize it until we were well on our way on the highway to visit a friend. We immediately called to complain about the two issues. The woman stated that they only had a minivan which we would have to pay extra for, and that she would call us back about the smell in the car. As you can figure out, she never returned our call. Avis should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of their customers! We will be reporting this branch to the corporate office as well as Consumer Affairs.

Rented a car via online reservation because my vehicle is in the shop, and get there and had no car available. Rude associate just talked over top of me, refused to give me my money back and told me she was just as frustrated as I was....really?? Because I'm pretty sure she gets to leave and get in her car and go home, meanwhile I've got to find a ride. Oh, and claimed she tried to call me to tell me they didn't have a car and when I showed her my call log with no call from anyone but my contacts, she said she wasn't going to argue with me. And I wasn't the only one, people were coming in right behind me. Terrible experience, totally unacceptable.

When all auto rentals would incorrectly state availability including Avis, the frontdesk person at the Jensen Beach location "JAY" was the only person across all local auto rental locations that actually kept her promise and followed up. It's alot easier to call out the bad but it's paramount to call out the good.Thank you Miss Jay for making my experience a positive one. Car was clean, quick in and out, Jay was personable and had a positive impact with my overall experience at Avis. Thank you again Miss Jay.
