PLEASE!!! PLEASE!!! PLEASE!!! listen up this is not a good company to work for i got released last week without any notice i dont even know why, i worked for them for 2weeks and they had me deliver a load back to starks terminal that was supposed to go to orlando i had a few problems handling the load the reefer was running out of fuel i got caught twice in heavy traffic from atlanta once i picked up the load i went to get fuel but i forgot to push the right button for dissel and reefer and pumped reefer fuel only in the trackter and next thing i know they routed me back to terminal this company is very confussed on how to dispatch you on loads and they are always changing things on you and the dispatchers dont know what they are doing after i was hired i was told to run a few loads and then go home and do a 34hr reset and to drop my car off at the lakeland yard and my 34hr reset will start and they would have another driver bring me back to starks terminal but they changed plans on me saying take 2 more days off i told them i wanted to run so they had me recover a nasty smelly truck from lakeland yard to starks yard so i did it and when i got there they pulled me in the office saying i started my clock to early but they were the ones who told me when to start my clock so please do yourself a favor and stay away from this company they care nothing for you!!!

Terrible experience with little pay. If your a cdl driver look pass Davis express. Not employee friendly

Just got released today with no explanation, this company pays zip code to zip code and cut miles away from the drivers they claim to care about. Micro manage is an understatement. I had dispatchers try and tell me how to run my clock and they had no driving experience. Home time was consistent but their older equipment is falling apart inside the truck atleast the Volvo I had. The worst part is how they handled the releasing of me. Got me a load heading to their main terminal, and they didn't have the decency to atleast tell me what was going to happen so I could get my stuff off the truck. No respect for driver's. So if you do decide to come and work here good luck you'll need it.
P.S. remember to check your actual miles the route you to versus what they ACTUALLY pay.

If you plan to be a hard worker, don't. If you want to be polite and give them 2 weeks' notice, don't. They will micro manage your time off, requiring you to call 10 hrs before your break is done. Then, call again when you arrive at the yard. There are some nice people there, including some drivers but nice only goes so far.

Great position for a company driver. Most companies over promise and under deliver, but at Davis, they do exactly as promised. Each of the people working in safety, dispatch and the shop are experienced professionals with many having as much as twenty plus years in the trucking business. As far as the working environment, it is the least stressful, easiest job that I have ever had in the 11 years I have worked as a driver. The equipment is well maintained and you can expect 80% drop and hook. I highly recommend Davis Transfer to any driver that is tired of being a road warrior and wants consistent home time with a good income.

They have a really good training procedure, everyone has been very friendly, helpful and patient. I plan on sticking around as long as they'll have me, it's close to home and like my family time. I know I'm new and have to work hard and show I'm appreciation for the opportunity, would recommend to anyone. And don't listen to someone's bad review of a company or person make your own.
