Old school shop that actually rebuilds alternators and starters. I felt so much better buying from them than buying a "new" made in China part. I walked in and gave them my 10 year old marine alternator and left 3 minutes later with one they had previously rebuilt.

Had brakes and rotors done last time I was in. I have been bringing my vehicles here for years and the service is always great. I always recommend others, they don't try to sell you things you don't need which is very nice, it's hard to find a good mechanic! Thanks Will's starters!!

16 year old Nissan titan, 167k miles, with original starter. Starts making the “clink” noise but doesn’t crank, then cranks right up on the second attempt. Call Will’s, ask if I can bring them an OEM starter for them to install—mine has lasted 16 years, so I like those odds. He tells me no, that he will only rebuild mine and put it back in, and the price is nearly identical to the cost of the OEM starter before labor. I tell him I want to use OEM and why can’t he install it. He gives me a hypothetical “what if you bring me the wrong part, then your vehicle ties up a bay until I can get the right part. Couldn’t he just rebuild mine in that scenario? He tells me that he uses all the same parts inside and it is equivalent to OEM—remember my OEM has 16 years and thousands of starts. Well…I take him the truck, he rebuilds my starter, the truck starts great for a day and a total of 3 starts, then it leaves me stuck in the Home Depot parking lot—clinks once but won’t crank no matter no matter how many times I try. Next morning I call and get Tony on the phone. I start to tell him what’s going on and he cuts me off and says “let’s not condemn the starter, it could be lots of things”. Sure, I tell him, but I’d like to understand what all they did so I can try to isolate it, and did they replace the solenoid?. He tells me they ALWAYS replace the solenoid, then gets pedantic and tells me he can’t diagnose over the phone, and to “get it to him” like I can magically snap my fingers and have it appear there. I take the day off work now to deal with this. When I get to the truck later that morning—get this—it magically cranks and starts. I drive it straight to will’s and when I get to Will’s it doesn’t restart. I leave it there. They call later and tell me it’s fixed. What was the problem—and here is the soul-crusher—the dude tells me that the solenoid that they installed two days ago FAILED. So I got 16 years out of the OEM part and 24hrs out of the solenoid that Will’s installed. Plus I had to make 4 trips up there to drop it off twice and pick it up twice, and had to take a day off work to deal with the exact problem that I was trying to avoid all along—being broken down and stranded in some parking lot. They didn’t charge me for the second visit “under warranty” but that’s a small consolation prize. When I picked up the truck I asked the guy at the desk if this happens a lot—bad solenoid out of the box—he says it wasn’t bad out of the box, that it failed soon after install and that it’s like “buying a bad light bulb at Home Depot”. He was somewhat dismissive about it like meh, it happens. When I asked if this happens a lot he says something like “you can’t trust any of this crap that you buy these days”. Well that seems pretty central to their business, and remember he originally told me that his rebuilt starter would be identical to an OEM. So now I’m left wondering how long THIS solenoid will last. I give 2 stars for price and making it right, but I feel like I paid for them to install a time bomb in my truck, and they were quite dismissive and pedantic about my problem which they created.

Great place. Called a few parts suppliers. They gave me a price of $582.15 for a starter for a giant mini loader. Called wills and here they came to the rescue. A little over $200. Great place and vary knowledgeable and friendly. I deff recommend this place for your starter and alternator needs. They over more services and it's hard to find a honest place these days that are not trying to empty your wallet. Stop by check wills starter and alternator out. You won't be disappointed.
