I ran across Sunken Gardens on Groupon. The tickets brought on Groupon saved $4 at the gate. The parking was limited, but it wasn't too much of a hassle to get a park spot. The front gate was friendly and helpful. I loved the different varieties at Sunken Gardens. Wild life, trees and plants was a great combination. It gives the vibe of visiting a miniature zoo. I highly recommend Sunken Gardens! Enjoy.

Beautiful pathways with even prettier views. Sunken Gardens is conveniently located close to downtown St. Pete while still providing a serene getaway. We purchased our tickets ahead of time with Groupon which cut the price from $30/pp to $18/pp. Beautiful option if you're looking for a peaceful place to enjoy nature!

Great price! Groupon was $18 for 2 adults. The birds and koi are adorable and we got so many beautiful photos with the trees and flowers in the background.

We went on the Flamingo weekend celebration. Arrived at about 1230, and took us almost exactly one hour to get through the line. Could have used some more assistance checking people in, as the process was extremely slow. Better prep for a weekend that I'm thinking they knew would be busier. The gardens themselves were really nice, and there was a musician playing which added great ambiance. The grounds were gorgeous, with so many different plants to view, along with several water features that added to the serenity.

Art inspired from new arrival #46 Flamingo. Beautiful gardens and home for many flamingos. Hidden wonder here in St. Petersburg. Lovely gardens and many surprises as you walk the trail...

Hidden gem in a beautiful city of St. Petersburg. We spent a lovely afternoon walking the gardens and admiring all the greenery in the middle of unusually cold for Florida day. Gardens are very well kept and the team that checked us in was extremely friendly.

The ladies at the front are so nice especially with kids they 'put the kids in charge of the map.' They have cute shop, they have a variety of gifts to select from. Some of the items are a bit pricey, but the proceeds go to the garden to help fix it up and make it look beautiful. It is definitely worth going to, especially to get some fresh air and enjoy nature and its beauty. I highly recommend.

I have visited Sunken Gardens several times through the years when I travel to St Pete. This is a garden over 100 years old with an interesting history. On my recent trip I noticed they added a small history center and I was pleasantly surprised to learn more about this gem. It is well worth the cost and a peaceful way to spend a few hours. You will also find flamingos and other exotic birds. Staff are always friendly and we even noticed them walking around with the birds, interacting with guests and training the birds to do tricks.

It has been on my places to visit and finally made it! It was busy on a Saturday morning and since it was cold, we did not get to see the birds! There is plenty of parking and people go in and out constantly, so you will find a spot. We did not have to wait long to get our tickets and the entrance is right next to the check in. It is a small garden with plenty of plants, fountains, small history section, flamingos, birds (during cold weather they are not on display) and a small gift shop. They are sunken because you go from the street level down to the gardens. If I remember correctly, this was a sinkhole but don't take my word for it. A good visit to get a nature fix away from the city or the beach.

My SO is a Master Gardner so we were very interested in stopping here. It's worth a visit! When you enter & pay you're given a map. The paved trails wind through the gardens and there are many signs posted informing the visitor about what you're seeing. Its trees are big to huge - old & mature. There is abundant undergrowth everywhere. Along with the plants, they had some turtles, loud macaws, parrot, Chilean flamingos, koi fish and a huge kingfisher to observe. There wasn't a lot of flowering plants but that may have been the time of year. It's worth some time to stop and visit.

Purchased a groupon for something to do while visiting from out of town. Parking was crowded, so I thought it would also be crowded, but I think people were spread out all over. Was able to redeem the groupon with ease, and the employees were very efficient and friendly. Map is straight forward as it is numbered; however, it can be a bit confusing once you step foot on the grounds because you don't have to follow the numbers and can go in different directions (like a maze). The history of the grounds was interesting and you see some beautiful plants, trees, flowers, etc. Very good photo opps! If you are looking for something to do and like to take pics, this is your place.
