I was in the area on a Saturday afternoon. There were almost no cars out front so I hoped I would not be a bother and we stopped. I told the young man at the front desk that I was in no way ready to buy a boat but, if someone was willing to talk to me knowing that I was not ready to buy, I would love to speak with them.My wife and I walked the floor and looked at an Aquila 37 (I believe). I was shocked by, when standing next to the hull, how large it was.Enter Jayson, the sales dude. I again explained that I was not ready to buy a boat but, if he was willing, I had questions and I would really like to walk through a 54.The man was incredible. As we sat in the main deck’s air-conditioned cabin, I started firing questions at Jayson. He answered what he could (most of my questions) and, if he didn’t know the answer, he didn’t duck the question or redirect me to other topics. I finished my questions and was amazed, simply thrilled, by my sales rep. For the questions he couldn’t answer, he referred me to resources or said, “I don’t know that, but I can find out.” Jayson also gave me information about several topics I would not have thought to ask about.I simply can’t put into words how much I enjoyed our time with Jayson. If there was any doubt in my mind, it’s one now. When I am ready, I will buy an Aquila. I hope it is from Jayson.

I tried using marine max mobile service, dealt with Ryan nothing but empty promises and won’t return phone calls very disappointing. I had been told the boat had been repaired only to fly in with customers to take them out and find out it had not been repaired.Being in the service business myself I know how important communicating with the customer is and Ryan do yourself a favor and take a customer service training class.

They kept my boat for 2 months then told me it was ready. I showed up and they made me wait 45 min to pick it up. I didn't make it home before it broke down again

Boats been sitting for weeks to get work done. Always excuses. All the while paying for storage. They seriously need to hire better and more efficient help. Will be taking our business somewhere else.

I had the pleasure of working w Josh at this location and he was as good and helpful as he could be. U should be so lucky to have such an experienced and generous “used boat” salesmen/broker as me.

I had our boat towed 120 miles to get it fixed. Kyle and Caleb in the service department are a pleasure to deal with. I was going to drive up and take pictures for the insurance and they went out and did it for me. I probably have the smallest boat there but they still treated me like I owned a big one. We need hull work because of the Hurricane Ian.

I was treated very poorly. My broker tried to force me into an overpriced boat, while repeatedly disrespecting me. When I met with my broker, she spoke down to me and made me feel less than for the offer I put on the table. She promised to put a very reasonable contingency into the contract but left it out completely then was very insulting when I pointed that out. She also promised me an equipment list, but never provided it. When I researched the market and came back with a reasonable counter offer, she refused to present it to the seller. A Freudian slip maybe, but she said she was looking out for the best interest of the seller. Anyways, I ended up working with Pop Yachts brokerage, I was treated with respect and ended up getting a great deal on a larger boat for a much lower price than the boat MarineMax tried to force on me.

Extremely disappointing purchase experience. Justin, my salesman, informed me there was no need for an inspection of the Boston Whaler prior to signing the paperwork. “That’s not how we do it” he claimed. On his assurance that MarineMax would address any issue I discovered once I took delivery, I agreed to move forward. During my first day on the boat, I discovered some damage to a railing. I contacted Justin - who blamed me for the damage and then ignored my subsequent messages. Fortunately, it’s a minor issue but the customer experience reminds me of a used car lot and not a high end boat dealer - and I apologized in advance to used car lot operators for the comparison.

Recently had several issues with my boat and they were all fixed with great care to every detail. So pleased with Mr Don Ross. Completed the work around my schedule and his communication skills are without a doubt excellent by email and telephone. Love getting my boat back clean as a whistle. Thank you Don for a job well done. IT’S THE LITTLE DETAILS THAT MATTER!! Regards to all at MarineMax. Ed Crocker

Great company to work with and be sure to ask for Nick Pavlakis for your boat purchasing needs. He goes the extra mile to get you the boat you desire and is on his game any time you email, text or call him.Unfortunately the boat purchase from Nick didn't work out for me but he was right there to pass on information and immediately get my deposit refunded. Thank you very much Nick. Well wishes to you.

Cobia 237 Purchase. Josh A. and the rest of the team were absolutely first class. My own broker dropped the ball and they stepped up in the most professional and efficient way. They made the process go extremely smooth and took the time to even walk me through everything as if I originally hired them as my own! Took a stressful situation and turned it around immediately. Thank you!

I have owned several boats over the past 15 years and never experienced the level of professionalism, courtesy and quality that I recently experienced with Marine Max, Gulfport Florida. There is no comparison to any other marine service provider I have used in the past. I especially want to give high marks to our primary contact, Jeff Sanders. I have managed and owned multiple businesses dealing with high-technology equipment. Jeff is as good at his job as I have ever experienced anywhere. He is an ACE at his profession!

Great service, Carl in the service department sends an email right back to me when I have questions almost immediately. Don has helped me with electronics questions re: Simrad Nav system. When I have requested service, it is usually timely. A few times I was not charged for mobile service and then without notification, I was, but when I inquired with management, it was waived for only an additional time. I now understand there is a charge. I will be bringing my boat in for bottom painting this Friday. MarineMax was able to grant this request within a week. Again, Carl has been great about communicating with me to make arrangements to bring in my SeaRay and stated it will take about a week. That's reasonable since I can't use the boat during the week due to work and can do without it this weekend. The only issue I have with MarineMax is pricing. They are a little high for the 100 hour service, but just by a little; however that's gas money ($900 v $700 I paid for my 200 hr). For the bottom paint job, I was quoted $2300 and another competitor was $2000 but could not get it done until late August. Update, just had bottom paint job done within time specified and looks great. Hopefully it does it's job and anti-fouls well. Price was the exact quoted. I'll see in a few weeks. Didn't realize Carl had already left MarineMax for another position with a different company when I went to pick up my boat and saw Ben Tenney there, who is also awesome with communication and needs. He was able to get me out the door and out to sea. MarineMax is conveniently located about 15 min from my dock to theirs and I've never had an issue leaving my boat moored at their service docks. I don't have a trailer nor do I need one. What keeps me giving MM 5 stars is the price of labor. Some of the smaller companies I priced my bottom paint job were not as expensive with parts and labor, for both bottom painting and 100 hour service needs. As a suggestion, repeat customers should get a discount on service/labor charges/parts.

I've always taken my boat to the Clearwater store until 2020 when I bought a new 310 SLX. A family friend that maintains my boat monthly convinced me to have any service and warranty work done in St. Petersburg since he knows the people there. I agreed to have the work done at the St. Petersburg location and have been frustrated and extremely disappointed with the service and workmanship. SInce getting the boat, the alarm (bilge) will go off when I get the boat on plane. They have worked on this simple issue 3-4 times and it still goes off. My most recent visit, I had warranty work done, the boat detailed, replace a snap, fill with fuel, check the alarm. They called and said the detail wasn't acceptable and asked me to arrive 4 hours later. When I got there, the detail was not good (I was charged $1,200), someone lost my carpet and when I asked Marine Max, they said it wasn't on the boat when it came in. I told them to fill it with fuel, it was 3/4 not full, they said the snap was fixed, when I got home to check, it wasn't, and when I accelerated to get on the plane, the alarm went off. As for the detail, the company they use called me the same day and came to my house the next day to correct everything. They were professional, owned up to the poor workmanship and did a wonderful job. I will give them another try. As for the St. Petersburg store, they didn't follow up on the detail and didn't respond when I told them about the other issues that they were responsible for. I called the store 3 days ago to talk with the service person about the alarm and other items that weren't done and they advised he's no longer in that department. They transferred me to another service advisor who I left 2 messages with no response. I'll go back to Clearwater where they seem to care about clients after the sale.
