Recently my husband was taking to the hospital with covid and pneumonia by ambulance. I could not follow him because had a covid also. Nurse in ER called me an let me know that my husband is going to be admitted to the hospital because of his condition. I was greatly appreciating him for the sorrow explanation. Next morning, I tried to call nurse who is taking care of my husband. English is the second language for both of us. My husband needed help to understand what is going on. Nurse answered she is busy and called me later. In two hours, the same conversation. In two hours the same. She even told me I can come by myself to find out how is he doing. It is not her business why I could not come. Finally, around four pm I asked to connect me to supervisor. This woman was so nice to me, she kept me on the phone until she checked on my husband and talk to him. She promised me the nurse will call me back .Finally, she called me to read from the computer the doctors notes. My husband was calling me to find out what doctor said. I did not have a clue. It was a very stressful day for both of us. Did we deserve it?

I"'m only giving this review of the Hospital of Horrors one star because I'm not able to give it a negative 150 stars. I will be fair and say that I did have a health emergency, their ER was the closest so my husband took me to Palms of Pasadena, AKA, HCA. When Palms first opened in the mid to late seventies it was known as the the worst hospital, people were warned not to go there under any circumstances. In the early oughts, things changed. It was like a luxury hotel, and my doctor was affiliated with that hospital, so I had no problem going there. That all ended last week. The only good thing I can say about the hospital is they didn't let me die. And I know that's a big plus. Aside from that, my week in hell began Please all of you entitled white men that run HCA, let me be clear, this is not a racial thing. I am a white woman. But, when I was in a hospital fighting for my life and at four different times four different nurses came in and asked me. And these are direct quotes. They asked me why in the world I would have come there when it's the worst fucking hospital in the world since HCA took over. Again, their words not mine. Then I get to hear stories from them about dead bodies being left in their hospital rooms for up to 2 days because no one has it together enough to do their job. These are not things that make you feel safe and comfortable when you are in the ICU fighting for one's life. There are so many things wrong that I can't possibly take the time to post about it in this review so I will just do the Cliff notes. You already heard that four nurses at four different times told me that Palms HCA was the worst fucking hospital in the world. They weren't wrong. And just in case anyone reads this that has anything to do with HCA All anyone including myself that hears the word/letters HCA thinks of when they hear that is Rick Scott/HCA, the biggest medicare fraud case in America, and the biggest Medicare fraud fine in history for performing the biggest case of Medicare Fraud! Lose the name. Then, And I don't know if this is a new gimmick you're trying to get better reviews or if you even know the business end of the hospital is doing this but once I was back in a regular room and just wanted to get out of that freaking hospital a woman from the business office came into my room and asked me if I could just stay there for two more days my entire stay would be free. That was a first for me and it stunk of desperation. When I told one of the nurses who hated HCA about it, I was told that the "big shots" at HCA were so upset about all of the bad reviews that they were coming to the hospital this week to see what all the bad reviews were about. Maybe I have saved you a trip if again, anyone reads this. If I have another breathing emergency, and I am in no way in the medical profession, I think I would be in better hands giving myself a tracheotomy with a rusty knife. I have lived here a very long time and have two friends on the board of the Palms HCA. I will be calling both of them today and telling them to save their reputations and get the hell off the board while they can. If I have another health emergency I will take my chances and drive to Tampa to go to Tampa General. Even if I was dying. That's how bad this building of horrors that you call a hospital is. And for the love of God, change the name. Get HCA off of everything you own. I have some suggestions of names for you but hopefully, someone will be smart enough to listen to me. House of Dreck comes to mind but that's just me. Again, They did save my life in the ER, but as far as the hospital, you guys have some HUGE problems!

I recently spent (12) days in ICU and (7) days in the Rehabilitation section at the Palms of Pasadena Hospital. I experienced nothing but professional and personal care. From the staff to housekeeping everyone was friendly, and helpful. They made me feel, as if I was their only patient. The entire staff needs to be recognized, but several deserve special thanks and recognition. SURGEONS: Dr. Thomas Tolli Dr. Fritz Brink ICU Dept: Joanne Aric Ned Rachel Donna Lori Occupational Therapy Dept: Dr. Woet Dr. Jordan Stephanie Christie Georgia Renee Lisa Donna The above people will always remain in my heart. I apoligize to those staff members I did not mention. There is much to be said about a small facility. Within days everyone knows one another's name and needs. The Palms of Pasadena will always be my recommended hospital. Brad W.

Cut my pinky finger with a piece of glass. Minor first aid was all that was necessary. They put a piece of tape and a bandage on it. Then proceeded to bill my insurance company nearly $8000. In ER for approximately 30 minutes. You people have to do better . This isn't right and this isn't over.

This hospital is AWFUL!!! My husband had 3 mini strokes 4 weeks ago and was admitted here because it is the closest hospital to us on St.Pete Beach. I was in his room waiting to hear from his doctor or nurse. It never happened. I sat in room 345 waiting for him to come back from his MRI. I received a call from the MRI nurse saying she would come to the room and let me know what was going on. She never did. Her name is Dustin or close to it. I repeatedly asked who his nurse is and never got an answer. I repeatedly asked the nurse who came into the room if she knew who his nurse was and if someone could find her and she kept saying she didn't know. I had to call 3 other nurses that I'm friends with that work for Baycare, to go into his patient portal to get his info because no one there had any information for me. After being there for 3 hours, I realized the nurse who's name is Colleen was HIS nurse and she never said that she was after I asked her about 25 times if she knew who his nurse was. When he was released the next day, he was sitting outside on a bench by himself. I never talked to anyone who could give me after stroke care instructions, and I never talked to his doctor. I dont know what the hell is going on at that hospital, but I'll NEVER go back!!!! I'd rather drive more than 10 miles out of my way before going there and it's only 6 minutes from my house on St.Pete Beach. This hospital and staff needs to do better!!!! I wish I could give this negative 20 million stars!!!!!!

Arrived Monday evening with raging appendicitis and got red carpet treatment from becca admitting, charge nurse, Ralph etc. After CAT scan documented my situation I went to third floor to wait for surgery the next day. Why? I was perforated by that time. I was miserable and had surgery at 5pm next day. Then the night shift charge nurse Michelle apparently used to be a police officer. She was cruel but thought she was correct. I asked for pain meds with scale 8-9 and she said"No." I explained it was really 9-10 and she said "No" that I just needed to breathe better. I tried for many hours but felt panicky as well. Why could not she call MD and get me different Med or intervene? In the norming my nurse named "Mo" told me I was watching the clock too much and then I should stop watching the clock because it was all psychological. She finally medicated me right before a change of shift and then when the dayshift came on, they completely changed all my meds and gave me pain relief I had had appendix removal and two hernia surgery with carbon dioxide gas in my tummy as well.

I have been coming to PALMS since 1992, been thru 3 surgeons and MD E. Renkhe saved my life many times!! The post from G. Bassem on 12/2019 is the biggest lie I have ever read!!! The people who post lies like this are not only hurting this Dr. but ALL of his pt.'s! I have a BCIR since 1992 and there is not one MD that will see me for even a minor infection. They all say the same thing, " I will not follow you because you are to complicated." SO GUESS WHAT? I am just one person of hundreds that have a BCIR and Dr Renhke knows just what to do. If I die or all of us die then what have you done? It seems like to you because of your loss, my life & hundreds just like me don't matter! All that matters to you is yourself!! How hateful is that? I am very sorry for you.. I WANT MY DOCTOR BACK!! The hospital & DR. R's staff were unbelievably professional, compassionate and we were like family! Please don't believe everything you read, especially from angry people like G. Bassem..

Dirty and run down with rude disgruntled staff that seem overwhelmed. The hospital appears to be very short staffed. Worst experience ever but really no surprise because it is run by HCA. The WORST healthcare provider in the U.S. They only care about profit.

Poor management of coding & billing dept. Check your bills before paying a co-pay. We've had constant billing errors and did not find the billing dept. of any assistance ... constantly got phone transferred. There is no one at Palms where the "buck stops here". We reached resolution by requesting an appeal thru Medicare and FL Blue BCBS. 2021 errors are finally fixed in July of 2022. By the way, service from Doctor and Nurses is very good!

Excellent care. Staff exceeds all expectations. It's a small hospital specializing in same day outpatient procedures.

When you walk into a hospital for the 1st time and there is no front desk employee or volunteer to even point you in the right direction, this is unacceptable for a hospital who has been in business for more than 4 decades! I walked in, noticed an empty front desk and saw absolutely no one to help me. I found a cubical, tiny office to the left and knocked at the door, the door is glass, and I can see a lady sitting in there who is an employee, she ignores me knocking at the door, so I walk in anyways and she is wondering why I am in her little room? I was there to see someone that day, she wanted to know who I was there to see, of course she has no clue who that is and goes to ask someone else in the room what to do. She sends me in the wrong direction, and I end up on the opposite side near the emergency dept. Walking around the 1st floor, I did not see a nurse, janitor, security guard, literally no one. Which is unheard of for a hospital. The fact that they can't find anyone to sit at the front desk and help people coming in is very wrong and not up to compliance codes. Having strangers wondering around and not knowing where they are going and no one to help is ridiculous.
