Let me start off by saying I have never reviewed something before, but when this came our way as a request, I jumped at the opportunity . Expert Au Pair has been extremely helpful kind and a true partner to us so this was the least we could do to express our gratitude and let the world know what a wonderful experience we are having with them
We came to Expert Au Pair from our own Internet research. We had previously matched with another au pair with a different agency who did not pass her first visa interview ? and expert Au pair graciously agreed to take us on as a pre-match and let her have a second try to pass the visa interview. This was above and beyond what the previous agency was offering!
Unfortunately, as luck would have it, the young lady we had matched with once again did not pass the visa interview so that was the end of the road
At this juncture, we could have gone to a different agency or gone back to the original one as we had already paid for the year with them- We had a fight in front of us get a refund!- But we decided to stay with Expert Au Pair regardless because they had been so gracious and welcoming and helpful- and yes in the end, the previous agency did give us a refund. We were so impressed with the responsiveness from Mark who is the CEO of Expert Au Pair That we wanted put our trust into their process.
Expert Au Pair Immediately sent us a list of About 20 candidates - all pre screened. This was much better for me than the endless searching on the website from our previous agency . We were hoping to have more geographic regions, but they have a specialty in S America and Mexico from what I understand… Regardless, we found a few young ladies we connected with…. Once we matched, They sent out their local representative PAOLA For an interview in our house.
To be honest, we were What? dreading it as we had just been through this with the other agency and we were running in 19 directions! That said, when Paola Arrived to our home it was immediately like welcoming family. She was thoughtful And kind and gracious and compassionate and funny, and truly a very remarkable woman. She has been doing this long time and cares very deeply about the family and the young ladies and her company- It was impossible to not immediately fall in love with her. Even while we were running on fumes, we felt Like we didn’t want to say goodbye to her!
And since then, we have gotten to know this agency and Paola 1000 times better. We renewed for a second year In March with our current Au Pair So we have Had interactions with them from all different levels.
This is an agency that cares deeply about their families and their Au pairs. They are dedicated to the happiness of the family and also the Au pair. We have had endless questions through the program that they never leave us hanging on. We were a first time family and they are still Learning as we go, and we could not do this without their support.
We had previously had the same live-in nanny for eight years so this was a learning curve for us but a very welcome one.
We have had a wonderful experience with the agency, Our local representative and of course our Au pair.
Throughout the year, when things have come up such as Medical issues, And other unexpected bumps in the road they have held our hand and talked us through every part of the process.
They also interact with the Au pairs regularly and plan events And gathering to keep them connected social and adhering to program guidelines …. But it is all done with loving hand and loving guidance
Paola Has been remarkable in this process. She gives us endless support and never judges, and is always an open ear and helpful guide But most importantly, she is a friend to us all
I hope this allows the reader to understand the true partnership this agency has offered us. We ar

We have been with Expert Aupair for 9 years, and we are still happy.
We had wonderful aupairs, and still in contact with some of them.
I can’t say the matching process is easy, it’s not easy!!
Matching process is a common decision of the host family and the future aupair! You need to take into account your life style, diet, activities and make sure they work for both parties!
Lately after our aupair came back to her country after only 6 months with us (she was home sick), we welcomed an aupair in rematch. And We are very happy with this new aupair!
She plays with our daughter all the time, always laughing.
You need to see your aupair as a big sister/brother, part of the family. Not an employee! I’ve heard from some aupais that some families can easily take advantage of the situation.
I like Expert Aupair, they always helped us along the process (especially during the rematch) , our local representative is also an amazing support!
It’s a small agency but I think it’s better because they know the families and the aupairs.
I will continue to stay with Expert Aupair and recommend this agency!

We really like the service provided by Expert Aupair during the process. They are very prompt in replying emails, complete in providing information, and responsible in everything. We had a very smooth process in bring in our pre-matched aupair. Their price is also very competitive. Everything was great so far.---------The above was written during the application process. However, things turned into a totally different direction recently. We are disappointed that their training to the Au Pair before they on board is far from enough. There was a series of serious safety concerns regarding the Au Pair we worked with. Also, if anything happens, and you want to have an early termination, it will be costly for the host family, and every rule they set is in favor of the Au Pair. We spent 1K more for just terminating the contract. Plus we only had some limited help from the Au Pair for about 4.5 months and had to terminate it.Toward the end, it may cost you no less than using other organization with only 1/3 of the service time, and there is a high risk that you have someone dangerous to be at home taking care of your kid. Or perhaps it's just us who are very unfortunate to face this situation.

Avoid ! Avoid ! Avoid !Had a terrible experience with Expert Au Pair. Firstly, they do not assist with the matching process they simply send you several profiles of several different Au Pairs each varying in skills and age, not chosen for any reason in particular. Expert also does not mediate when issues arise. Au Pairs receive unlimited rematch opportunities and host families get one rematch regardless of the reason. They have terrible customer service in particular Mark Gaulter.Had an Au Pair for approximately six months. This Au Pair did not have any discernable skills, she could not clean, cook any meals and needed specific instructions to do simple menial tasks. She did claim to have all these skills and experience with toddlers. Also, she was not the most hygenic in that she did not wash her hands before handling the child and on several occasions she would return from exercising in the gym then attempt to care for the child before bathing or changing the clothes she wore to exercise. She would pet my dog then try and prepare my child's meals. Each time I observed this I intervened of course and to her dismay she could not understand why washing her hands or changing her clothing was important. Au Pair also on many occasions did not use good judgment when caring for the child in that on some occassions the child gave her a hard time to eat but instead of trying again at a later time she would let the child go without eating and not mention anything about it.Au Pair work ethic was mediocre at best, in that she could never do anything unless instructed to do so, would show up exactly on time or a minute past her shift, repeatedly asked same questions for several weeks, never committed anything to memory nor wrote anything down. Au Pair on several occasions would be on her phone during work hours and would move the nanny camera or stand somewhere she believed was out of the camera's range so she could be on her phone. I also caught her eavesdropping on me while I was having a conversation in my bedroom. The Au Pair's integrity was also lacking in that whenever the Au Pair was asked if everything was fine she would always state everything was fine but then would email the coordinator to complain about the most insignificant and trivial things. For instance she had recieved a food item from a food pantry, brought it to my home, left it in the kitchen for some time and when it expired it was thrown out. I thought nothing of it until the coordinator mentioned that the Au Pair was upset that it was thrown out and Au Pair contacted her via email to complain. The food item was promptly replaced and when Au Pair was informed that the food item was thrown out because it was expired she again ensured that it was not a big deal and denied complaining about it.It was obvious Expert Au Pair's screening process is non-existent and they overstate the abilities and experience possessed by their Au Pair candidate pool. In addition my Au Pair also confided that many of the things that Expert Au Pair promised her after signing the contract were not true. When the Au Pair arrived she complained about not having all holidays off, she requested time off just two months into her placement and requested that all of her transportation costs be paid for by the host family even when she traveled for leisure.A meeting between the Au Pair, coordinator and myself was set up and during said meeting Au Pair immediately asked for a rematch and did not want to talk about anything but insisted on a friendly rematch. Coordinator did not try and mitigate the situation nor did Expert Au Pair hold the Au Pair accountable for anything in fact Mark Gaulter without having any first hand knowledge of what transpired accused me and my family as being dishonest and the reason for the Au Pair leaving.Note: The only really good review for Expert Au Pair is written by an Au Pair. Expert also has the cheapest fees for Au Pair's to join the agency.

I find myself in the unfortunate position of having to detail my distressing experience with Expert AuPair, a situation made all the more unacceptable by Mark Gautler’s handling of our case. As a father and husband, my primary concern is the safety and well-being of my family, which was compromised under the care provided by the au pair placed with us by Expert AuPair.Upon the au pair’s arrival, it became apparent that the rigorous screening process promised by Expert AuPair was grossly overstated. Despite claims of thorough training and vetting, the au pair displayed a concerning lack of essential skills such as CPR and basic child safety knowledge, which directly endangered the well-being of our young child. The series of incidents that unfolded—including negligence that led to my child’s minor injury and a severe lapse in judgment by inviting unknown individuals to our home—culminated in a situation that no family should ever face.To add to our distress, when these serious concerns were brought to Mark Gautler’s attention, his response was far from professional. Instead of offering support and immediate remediation, Gautler’s approach was defensive and ultimately aggressive, insisting on a partial refund as the only solution and disregarding the emotional and physical toll on my family. This stance was not only dismissive but also seemed intended to dissuade further action on our part. Moreover, the resolution offered by Expert AuPair fell significantly short of addressing the core issues at hand, including the lack of proper vetting and the au pair’s inability to meet the basic requirements for childcare. The suggestion that we were somehow at fault for the au pair’s failures was both insulting and baseless. In the end, the lack of accountability and the unwillingness to provide a satisfactory resolution left us feeling abandoned and disregarded by an agency that had promised to prioritize the needs and safety of its clients. This ordeal has been a harrowing reminder of the importance of diligent research and the need for transparency and integrity in the au pair placement process.I share this account not out of spite but in the hope that it will prevent other families from enduring a similar ordeal. The safety of children and the peace of mind of parents should never be compromised, and it is imperative that au pair agencies uphold the highest standards of care and responsibility.

“I am completely dissatisfied with the service I received from Expert AuPair. The ordeal reached its peak when Mark Gautler, the head of Expert AuPair, coerced me into accepting a mere fraction of what was rightfully mine, a full refund, following a blatant violation of our agreement and the company’s irresponsible hiring practices. The depths of deception were plumbed when Expert AuPair utterly failed to conduct a thorough background and training verification of the Au Pair, and additionally, fell short of acting as an unbiased mediator in addressing the disputes that arose. It’s critical to underscore that at the time of the Au Pair’s arrival, I was 26 weeks pregnant, grappling with a high-risk pregnancy, making the removal of the Au Pair from my home not just a preference but a medical necessity once their presence began to jeopardize my health.Upon arrival from abroad, the Au Pair, whose credentials were seemingly unverified, lacked essential skills such as CPR, had no practical knowledge of child safety, and was ill-prepared to care for a toddler. In a mere two weeks, the series of mishaps included my toddler being lost at a public place, suffering injuries due to negligence, and enduring preventable hygiene-related discomforts. The situation escalated with the Au Pair compromising our family’s safety by inviting strangers to our home and engaging in activities that led to police intervention—a first for us—aggravating my pregnancy-related health risks significantly. In attempting to resolve these issues with Mark Gautler, it became evident that the promises about their vetting and evaluation processes were grossly misrepresented. My attempts to highlight these failures were met with resistance, and Gautler’s refusal to follow the agency’s own procedures or advocate on our behalf was appalling. He was far from neutral, prioritizing the agency’s interests over our family’s safety and well-being.Moreover, Gaulter’s approach was confrontational, accusing me baselessly and pressuring me into silence by threatening the withdrawal of any refund if legal advice was sought. His insistence on us bearing the cost of the Au Pair’s return, only for her to remain in the country and be reassigned, speaks volumes of the agency’s disregard for genuine concern and safety. In summary, my experience with Expert AuPair was marred by negligence, deceit, and manipulation, with the agency’s actions—or lack thereof—posing serious risks and leaving our family in a vulnerable state.”

Cautionary Tale: terrible serviceMy experience with Expert Au Pair Agency was an utter disaster from start to finish, leaving me deeply disappointed and financially drained of 8,000$ Despite their promising name, the agency's so-called "expertise" was shockingly lacking, resulting in a nightmare scenario for my family. To begin with, the au pair candidates provided by Expert Au Pair Agency were woefully inexperienced and ill-prepared for the responsibilities they were tasked with. It became evident within the first few days that the girls they matched us with lacked even the basic skills necessary to care for children. Their incompetence was not only frustrating but also dangerous, putting my children's safety at risk.Adding insult to injury, both au pairs we hired through the agency ran away after just one month, leaving us stranded and scrambling to find alternative childcare solutions. This sudden abandonment left my family in a state of chaos and uncertainty, all thanks to Expert Au Pair Agency's failure to properly vet and support their candidates. What truly sealed the deal on this disastrous experience was the appalling behavior of the agency owner, Mark. Instead of showing empathy and understanding towards our situation, he was hostile and dismissive, refusing to provide any form of refund for the services we had paid for but clearly did not receive. In summary, I cannot in good conscience recommend Expert Au Pair Agency to anyone in need of childcare assistance. Their incompetence in selecting suitable candidates, coupled with their lack of accountability and unprofessionalism, makes them a liability rather than a reliable resource for families. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for reputable childcare services.

You will regret using the cheapest worst agency ever . They represent the scammer aupairs not the host families. These girls cannot even be left alone with children they are children themselves ! You cannot get childcare from a child . Will not be going with aupair again. They act like “ we want them to be part of the family” yet part of the family would be helping with all family duties . Slaving over hot stoves cooking for them like a slave every night. They expect you to cook and clean after THEM. And if they cook or clean it’s not their duties ? Make up your mind are they employees or part of the family. They just all come here to find husbands and men they have no care for children at all it’s all about running out finding d I c k

Disastrous Experience: Expert AuPair's Failure in Host Matching and Aupair IntegrityMy experience with Expert AuPair has been nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment the aupair arrived, it was evident that the agency's vetting process was severely lacking. The aupair assigned to us was not only filthy but also deceitful, fabricating stories and lying about her intentions.First and foremost, the cleanliness standards of the aupair provided by Expert AuPair were appalling. It was clear that basic hygiene and cleanliness were not priorities for this individual. This lack of regard for personal hygiene made it incredibly uncomfortable for our family to have her in our home.Furthermore, the integrity of the aupair was highly questionable. On the day of our rematch, she concocted stories and lies in an attempt to justify her desire to leave and be with her boyfriend in Ohio. This blatant dishonesty not only disrupted our family life but also reflected poorly on the agency's screening process.Expert AuPair failed miserably in fulfilling its promise of providing competent and trustworthy aupairs. Instead, they matched us with an individual who not only lacked basic hygiene but also demonstrated deceitful behavior. The day she left she assaulted me and my child for a phone she was renting from me . Case is now open with my township police . This experience has left us deeply disappointed and frustrated with the agency's services. To exacerbate the situation, the CEO, Mark Gaulter showed a complete lack of accountability and customer service, He would call scream yell and hang up like a complete psychopath make insane claims like I sat in business class while the aupair sat in economy with the baby, which is completely false. All of this has me question why a man is dealing with all these young women it’s very creepy . Despite the egregious failures on the part of Expert AuPair, Mark refused to provide a refund for the substandard service we received. This forced us to escalate the matter to the Department of State in pursuit of a resolution. This entire ordeal has not only been financially draining but also emotionally taxing. On top of everything, it has come to light that the aupair, using her new social security number, opened five credit cards with no intention of repayment. Now, we're inundated with mail from credit card companies seeking payment, adding insult to injury. It's abundantly clear that Expert AuPair is a small company run by one individual who lacks integrity and professionalism. Save yourself the trouble and opt for a reputable agency with proper oversight and accountability measures in place.I would strongly advise against using Expert AuPair for anyone seeking an aupair placement. Their incompetence in host matching and lack of oversight on aupair integrity make them a liability rather than a reliable solution for childcare needs.Photos attached are the supposed reasonings of fabricated stories from mark why there will be no refund ? Funny all of these allegations came to light the day the aupair flees and we would need a replacement or refund but for the past 3 months no comments .Other photos of our filthy aupair we complained about for months but nothing was done . Living in complete filth eating food under her sheets.

This man is an absolute embarrassment to humanity. He is nothing more than a female trafficking expert. He traffics unsuitable girls from around the world and when they don’t work out for you and your family he finds them another sad family that will have the same complaints and rinses and repeats . Leaving the host family’s out of money time and dignity. Blames EVERYTHING on host families . He yells he curses he’s absolutely insane . He has to be reported to the US department of state. Picture included of why he’s aging so terribly because all the problems he deals with young foreign women that are insane themselves trying to blend in here with normal American families . Most don’t work out that’s clear !

Hello Mark, This response to my comment is further proof that Expert Au Pair and Mark the owner do not value the host families. Again, you are showing that you only take the side of the Au Pair and consider it fact without acknowledging actual facts or caring to find out what the truth is. Mark's entire perspective is centered around the Au Pair. If you had taken half the time you have spent on Yelp responding to my comments to vet the Au pairs that you have matching with families perhaps you would not have so many dissatisfied host families. Just take a look at the reviews Mark, it's not just me that has had a bad experience with you and Expert Au Pair. Let me lay out the facts, and Mark you are able to contact the Local Care Coordinator and the Au Pair to find out that the Au Pair which I hosted for six months could not prepare meals for my child, never changed a diaper before, unable to organize my child's room efficiently, on several occasions appeared late for her shift, constantly needed direction, unable to make independent decisions, constantly had to be reminded to sanitize her hands before handling the child and allowed personal issues to impact her job performance. Au Pair would have emotional episodes related to her personal life, her family back home, her pets back home and her boyfriend whom she had a long-distance relationship with. I truly understand having personal issues, we all have issues, but a level of professionalism is still required. During her emotional episodes she required time off or could not finish her shift. During each episode, which were several, she was given the time off she requested. Lastly, what caused me to call for intervention and mediation from the agency was when my wife and I caught the Au Pair eavesdropping on a private conversation my wife and I were having in the privacy of our bedroom we immediately contacted the agency and our concerns were never addressed. The only fact on Mark's comment is that the Au Pair lasted six months, but she did so only because of Expert Au Pair's policy of only allowing one rematch per host family, however, Au Pairs are allowed unlimited amounts of rematches. This policy was a strong deterrent and the major reason that we dealt with many of the Au Pair's shortcomings. This strict policy negatively impacts the host families, in that it places a significant financial burden upon the host family not to mention the draining and time-consuming process of searching and interviewing for a new Au Pair. In addition, the emotional toll that hosting an Au Pair takes was never Mark's concern. Again, host families Avoid ! Avoid ! Avoid !, I am still kicking myself for not listening to the numerous negative remarks Expert Au Pair and Mark have received. If you don't believe me read them for yourself, I have receipts feel free to contact me save yourself the money and the headache. Note how Mark mentioned that the Au Pair is happy in a new environment but nothing about the family and whether they are happy with their Au Pair.

Why are you asking me to remove my review??????Scamming mark saying he's confident of an aupair that fled with her boyfriend to Ohio. She probably lied and said she was being overworked as a reason to leave. She was lazy and filthy and I had to give her sooo many days off for her mental health and also I have cameras in my whole house so I can keep track of how many hours she worked . Would you like the footage ??

HOST FAMILIES BEWARE!!!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. If you are a host family avoid this agency at all cost. Don't make the mistake I did by not listening to the negative reviews. I am learning the hard way. They treat their host families with disrespect, they lack compassion, and they discredit any concerns Host families have about their Au Pair. Even though Au Pairs sign an employment contract it means nothing. They allow Au Pairs to rematch for arbitrary reasons and still place them in the home of an unsuspecting family who will be that Au Pair's next victim. The owner Mark was extremely rude to me on the phone. It was as if I was speaking to a brick wall. I expressed to him my apprehension with moving forward with a rematch given that my prior Au Pair left after 6 months leaving me pregnant with a toddler without childcare. I did not want to move forward with another Au Pair until the agency could guarantee that if this Au Pair like the last one left arbitrarily then we would get another opportunity to match with an Au Pair. After all we would have to invest an additional $4,200 on top of the $4,200 credit we had. Mark refused to listen to reason and instead asked me if the issue is "if I didn't value the current Au Pair that I was going to match with or was my family having money problems." I could not believe my ears. He then said that our prior Au Pair who left because she was perk shopping and didn't like my husband's "vibe" was not the "villain" and that he could not trust us as a host family because we did not want to move forward with the current match; keep in mind that he would not allow us to rematch if this new Au Pair left arbitrarily like the first one. Now we as a host family are out of $4,200 because of an Au Pair who did not value us as a family nor did she honor her employment contract. If you are going to do the Au Pair program please go with any other agency. Every other agency is better then them! The other agencies value host families, they try to mediate issues between host families and Au Pairs, they are not afraid to kick Au pairs out the program who signed up for the wrong reasons, and most importantly, they allow host families to rematch more than once to ensure that host families find the right fit for their family and are not left losing a few thousands dollars with no childcare. To my fellow host family good luck with your search and avoid EXPERT AUPAIR unless you are willing to throw $8,400 down the drain!
