My boat sank during Hurricane Ian. My agent put 125,000 limits of liability on my 5 jet skis and nothing on the 47' houseboat that I had already sunk 10,000 into getting it ready for airbnb. The jet ski filled with water, pulled the back of the boat down, water went in through the exhaust and my boat was totally under the water. Allstate would not pay a dime. The marina is charging mew 14, 000 for damage done to the dock and allstate will not pay a dime of that. They said the ski sank the boat and the boat is what damaged the dock therefore we dont have to pay. I hit a pothole while on my motorcycle in april. Not until September did allstate decide that my bike was a total loss. The adjusted called me stating they were going to pay 12,000 on the claim and asked me to call the repair shop to release the bike to them. I did so and 14 days later she called me back stating that I had a "stated value policy and 6,500 was the max they could pay. (I also had another motorcycle damaged the same way a rider was in front of me on itl). I took them from April till October to pay on that claim). I released that bike under the assumption of 12,000 I did not make the mistake, Allstate did AND if my bike is worth 12,000 and my policy only covered 6,500 why did my agent not correct that and let me know that I was underinsured? My policy was up for renewal this past FEB I emailed my agent and told him not to renew the 5 jetskis as they had been pulled out of the water (Oh, forgot that one, my agent put limits of liability only on the jet skis and not full coverage like I previously had with my last insurance company. therefore they paid nothing on them either THIS WAS ALL MY INCOME AND I STILL AN NOT AB LE TO DO THE REPAIRS ON MY OWN TO GET BACK INTO BUSINESS), I put in the email not to renew one of the vehicles as my son had gotten rid of it, and I also asked that he make sure both of my motorcycles had full coverage (When I added a Harley Davidson, Ultra classic (you know, the cadillac of all bikes), my agent only booked my coverage at liability and not full coverage I discovered this when someone stole the bags and I tried to file a claim I emailed my agent and asked him to correct this and he replied back that he was out of town and could I call Allstate and fix it myself. After sending the email about the policy changes, my policies were renewed, my bank was hit for over 3,000 and guess what none of the changes had been made I had to use my own time to get on the phone with Allstate and have the corrections made and wait for my refund Allstate still has not corrected the issue with the underinsured amount of payment towards my motorcycle but boy they sure did not hesitate to take the money out of my bank when it was time for my policy renewal again Extremely disappointed. Still havent heard a word back after email after email after phone call after phone call. I have not had my motorcycle since April and this is unacceptable. Thanks Allstate!!
