Been coming here for decades as a tourist, since I was 12 years old. Today was my first time in as a local and I’m sad that I won’t ever go back after getting major grumpy vibes from the owner. I don’t ever expect to be fawned over, but I did not feel welcome at all. Maybe just a bad day, but dang, it doesn’t really take that much energy to say hello and ask if one needs help finding anything. Bummer because I’d like to support local, but I’d rather buy swimsuits from TitleNine or Nordstroms than feel like I’m intruding.

Been going here since I was a kid. So happy to live on the tradition for a first bathing suit here for my baby niece. The girl that runs it was so sweet, left my debit card and she found me to give it back ❤️ this place is a legacy and always a good find!

This is my only must-stop-here spot when I visit St. Augustine. I love to swim but I hate shopping and I love this store because I can always easily find at least a dozen suits that will work for me within 15 minutes of entering the store. (Stopped today and had the same experience—walked away with two suits and am very happy with them both.) The staff is very friendly, too. Also, the suits are great quality and last a long time—I’m still wearing two that I bought here probably about 10 years ago!

The woman that was working inside was very rude to my friend because she had seen a price of an overpriced bathing suit top($125) and laughed out loud. Keep in mind my friend had no idea the woman had walked behind her. The lady said she needed to work on her manners and then said "this is why I dont allow children in my shop" and proceeded to kick us out for "making fun" of the price of the bathing suit top. She corralled us out of her shop and slammed the door behind us. If I could put a negative review I would.

They offer a great variety for women. My husband wishes they expand their man’s section but we found really good items for both of us! The sellers are very attentive and we had a great experience.If you’re looking for long sleeve items, they have them!

On the sale rack the store mix and matches tops w bottoms to suit them (brands do not have to match). As a consumer, spending $86 for one suit on sale the sales person would not allow me to find a bottom that I liked. The bottom they paired w the top was a busy, multi-print skirt that was quite ugly. Even though I was the one spending the money she wouldn't allow me to find an alternative stating "I can't sell that bottom" and she would not consider finding a different bottom stating "I will only sell this top w this bottom." She also told me "You don't understand how sales works." She would only sell the sale top by itself w purchase of an additional suit which I told her didn't fit me as well. Then she refused to sell me anything and stormed away.

I love the Sunshine Shop! I was happy to read a Saint Augustine Record article about a mother/daughter owned business. They have thousands of different bathing suits and fun clothing that represents island living. They also have accessories and gift items to buy. The owner and daughter team has a tremendous selection of Charlie B's apparel. I've never left empty handed. I'm glad to support local businesses.
