The total experience was 5 star. We were not an existing patient; yet we were welcomed in, processed quickly, and received almost real time vertinarian care. A pet emergency is stressful and heartbreaking but St. Johns Veterinary Hospital gave expert care to our pet and gave us peace of mind in our pets full recovery.

I have just moved here from Nova Scotia, and my cat is following soon. I needed prescription cat food for her. With my prescription from my Canadian vet, I was able to buy it here. They are great. I was very happy.

I love this office. Everyone is so caring and compassionate from the front desk, the vet techs, and vets. Even the groomers that perform our nail trims. I have both an English and French Bulldog and I am so thankful to have found this office.

One if my dogs ate the others heart worm meds along with his. I called the vet and was title to bring my dog in and they would force the dog to expel the contents of his tummy. . One hour later, I was back in my car heading home. Both the dog and I are fine. Great job St. Johns Veterinary Hospital! Vet when I board them. If I leave the dogs for boarding and vaccinations, etc., I’m always called to review test results and/or treatment recommendations.

August 29th was my first appointment at St. John’s veterinarian hospital. It was a very uncomfortable first visit. For starters, the room they put us in had a strong smell of urine. They did some of the exam in the room. I explained to them multiple times that my cat is very sweet and behaves well even at the vet. The restraint the assistant had on my cat was unacceptable. It was way to tight and forceful. It was very hard to watch so I again said he’s very sweet. Then they took him to the back for bloodwork which I did not like. I don’t trust anyone to take my pet in the back. There was no need for that! (The vet we went to in Miami did bloodwork in front of me and they got the vein the first try and my cat didn’t flinch or meow and seemed completely pain free I have it on video) Then to top it off the “lab” lost the bloodwork!!! I had no plans of taking him back to St. Johns vet ever again but since I had already paid over $400 and they said it would be at no charge since it was their mistake. I explained to them I did not want to see the same woman as I saw the last time. Yesterday I brought him in and they put me in the cat room. I spoke with a lady and explained the story but then she again took him back without doing the visit in front of me. He was back there forever, at least 45 mins and keep in mind this is only for bloodwork. I heard a very loud painful meow so I questioned the front desk, “what’s taking so long?” and they said he will be out in a minute. They came back out and said he has really small veins and had to poke him 3 times. Which is not true bc the vet we saw in Miami never had an issue. She got it right the first try! He’s never meowed like that EVER! I heard him in the other room. He was freaking out in the car ride home meowing like crazy and couldn’t sit still in his carrier and was licking his leg frantically which is totally out of his character. Today they called and said the bloodwork came back good and now I’m actually questioning if they even sent it bc it’s odd that bloodwork comes back with in 24 hours… she said the urine sample wasn’t back yet which is also odd bc urine usually comes back before bloodwork. I just don’t trust them. His first appointment was on 29th. On September 4th was when I was notified the first bloodwork was mixed up. If bloodwork comes back in 24 hours then why didn’t I find out the first time the bloodwork was mixed up sooner? I wasn’t notified until 6 days later! Anyways, I will not be bringing him back here ever again! I’m actually shocked at the Google reviews but I wish I would’ve saw the yelp review before taking him here. They seem more honest.

I have taken my 2 Affenpinschers here for 4 years. They get all of their required shots here, are boarded here at least once a year and have heartworm testing here annually as well. I also purchase all of their prescription food here as recommended by another vet. My dogs never get an "annual exam" - The fee here is $88 for said exam. After the food prices here kept escalating I decided to order from Chewy and save $40+. I was denied by St. John's. When I called to inquire why I had the misfortune of speaking with Morgan the Vet Tech who was beyond nasty and condescending and gave me the following misinformation: 1. It is the law in Florida that you MUST have your pet examined once a year. INCORRECT. I called the Vetetinary Board in Tallahassee and was advised that AN ANNUAL EXAM IS RECOMMENDED BUT NOT MANDATORY IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH A VET/PATIENT RELATIONSHIP. 2. Young newbie Vet Emma Brown (who supposedly) denied my food purchase request from Chewy could "lose her license" if she allowed me to purchase food from Chewy without "examining my dogs." WRONG AGAIN. I have been purchasing the EXACT SAME FOOD FROM THEM for 4 years at an inflated price with no "annual exams". 3. Chewy is a pet pharmacy only. WRONG. Chewy is an online full service pet retailer with a pharmacy component. Morgan the Vet Tech needs some serious patient service training and education with regard to Florida law. Needless to say I am happily ordering my pet food via Chewy through another wonderful patient friendly Vet. Any response contradicting this review from this establishment or stating they "have no record" of me, my dogs and/or my email is 100% false. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. You and your fur babies deserve competent, truthful advice and fair pricing.
