Pet Supplies Plus St. Johns
206 Ashourian Ave Ste 108, St. AugustineOverall, I really like this store. It is neat, clean, and the staff are very helpful. Be careful with the grooming prices.I took my pup in for a nail trim and paw cleanup this morning including dremel. I was first told it would be $41. That's a pretty ridiculous price being that I pay $60 for full grooming at Fresh Prints Spa. While I do appreciate the groomer bringing it down to $28, I know another customer would have said yes and been overly charged.Lastly, I do appreciate them getting my pup in so quickly. It's nice to know they have many hours of availability.FYI They do offer a $23 option that includes face, paws, and tail. That could be a great option for anyone looking for a cost effective option between grooming.

St Johns Veterinary Clinic: Wihbey Jeanine DVM
1360 US-1, St. AugustineMy wife and I will be moving to Japan soon and Dr. Jeanine Wihbey, as well as many others in their office, have been very helpful in working with us on the necessary paperwork and vaccine requirements which are needed for our pup. We have been going there for several years and they have always been very responsive and organized. I would highly recommend St. Johns Veterinary Hospital to anyone who may be in need of a vet for anything ranging from routine check ups to help with preparing for international travel. Also, the staff in the front office is extremely friendly and makes sure your pet feels comfortable from the time you walk in.

St Johns Veterinary Hospital & Cat Clinic: Virginia Quelch DVM
1360 US-1, St. AugustineDr. Eva is tremendous. We've brought two ailing cats here. One was referred to an excellent eye specialist in Jacksonville. The old boy today just had too many issues to deal with effectively. Dr. Eva conveyed the news with empathy and data. I would advise discussing the authority for resuscitation before signing any paperwork.

Petco
430 Cbl Dr, St. AugustineI had to go to petco today but I purposely went to this location to see if the reviews are true, in my experience they're not! Staff was very polite and checked in on me to help me find what I was looking for. The store was clean, well stocked and organized. All animals I saw (mammals and reptiles) had clean cages, fresh food with appropriate diet, were active and/or actively eating, and looked healthy!

Dr. Herbert Nicolas
2440 US-1, St. AugustineWhen I first moved to St. Augustine, one of the most important things I needed to do was find a good vet. Not just good, excellent. My 2 of my 3 Goldens do have underlying medical conditions. I lucked out. A stranger recommended the hospital. I reviewed their website and quickly noticed that Dr. Lopez had a connection with my breed. That's important to me. Even before I officially was a client, I called them to see if they could work one of my Goldens in b/c I thought he had injected a foreign object. They couldn't see him, recommended the local ER where the problem was resolved. Yet, even though I wasn't a client, they called the next day to see how my dog was doing. Now, that's above and beyond!! My appointments are always timely. If there's a problem, they work me in. I'm the first to admit I am a high-maintenance client. Always have questions, and often have suggestions. They always take the time (either in person or by email) to answer concerns and explain why or why not my recommendations are appropriate. Highly recommend!

Every person we spoke to was amazing, from the front desk, to the techs, to Dr. Esra. I can't say enough good things!

Matanzas River Animal Hospital
2440 US-1, St. AugustineWe were traveling through the area when our dog ate something that caused a blockage. We took him to Mantanzas River Animal Hospital where Dr. Nicholas saw him. After doing X-rays and a sonogram the Dr. showed us not only the blockage, but a very large liver (our dog had Cushing's) where he discovered two tumors, as well as pneumonia caused by vomiting from when our dog was trying to expel the foreign object.Dr. Nicholas was very upfront and factual about our options and when asked, he provided his personal recommendation. He was right but the decision was still very difficult and painful. We never felt rushed and Dr. Nicholas patiently answered our questions even when I feel like I asked the same questions over and over. His staff was equally compassionate and patient. It appears that they do all their testing onsite and are capable of addressing the most complicated illnesses.I feel like we lucked out by finding this wonderful "old school" veterinarian who knows how to think on his feet; he was wise and not greedy. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our emotional needs. Thank you Dr. Nicholas and team for your compassionate treatment.

Palencia Pet Clinic
7430 US-1, St. AugustineThey are very sweet with my baby. Unfortunately I was very late due to traffic / train and I apologized as I walked in. the front desk lady was very nice and said it is ok but then someone else came out and she just treated me very poorly and went on to scold me about being late right there in front of everyone. Not the right way to treat anyone. Not the way to talk to another adult. Not the words to use when this is my first time being late. Now All they had to do was as give my dog some medicine and that was it less than a minute. Ironic. It took her longer to scold me.

Pet Sitting & Training
ICNDF Dog Training Center
5720 US-1, St. AugustineI may be about 20 years late with this review but I can't tell you how many times in the last 20 years I have recommended this training facility! I was desperate to find a trainer that could work with my then 2 year old rottweiler, Remington. Having adopted him from an abusive owner, his temperament was less than stellar. I was determined to give him the best life possible and that needed to start with some comprehensive training and rehabilitation. ICNDF not only took on the challenge but excelled at giving my Remington a foundation that took him threw the remainder of his 14 years. Words can not express the gratitude I have for this facility! Remington was by far the most loyal and well trained pup I've ever had. His behavior was impeccable. I trusted this dog with my life, because he saved it twice!Well done ICNDF! I'm forever greatful.

300 Anastasia Blvd, St. AugustineExcellent beer and a great idea to partner with the taco place next door. We heard about both of these places from strangers in a bar and they were right; yummy! They have a great selection of craft beer, plenty of seating inside and out, and fast and friendly service. The gravel parking lot was a bit tough on our motorcycle but we managed. We shared a beer inside and got growlers to-go back to our hotel. I definitely recommend stopping here for a good craft beer.

S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue and Thrift Store
1250 Co Rd A1A, St. AugustineWe move the mission and the heart of this place and its founder, Robin. Sad to hear she is no longer with us, but we are very grateful that the Vision is carried on to help animals, and people like us, in need. In 2009 we adopted our beloved dog Wiley from SAFE and had 14 wonderful years together out west. We came back this winter for sailing adventures and swung by SAFE in St Augustine in hopes of finding our next Fur Family member. No luck this trip but we had someone very particular in mind—lots of other wonderful dogs and cats for others! Please remember to spay/neuter your animals so we can prevent the inhumane cycle of overbreeeding and euthanasia. We’re so very grateful for places like SAFE that do not kill unwanted animals. ✨???♥️???
