I have never been to a more helpful workshop in my life. Michael Brown is not only an excellent workshop leader but also an excellent therapist. He helped my partner and I see that conflict is a normal part of a relationship and gave us very useful tools in addressing it and seeing a way forward. He is not only an authentically caring and compassionate individual, he is highly skilled at teaching and conducting therapy. Specifically, I loved his use of humor in his teaching, I noticed that even on his so called breaks and at lunch time, Michael continued to give 150% of himself to the workshop participants around him. He continued to be engaging, answering questions, and giving feedback, when most leaders would take a break. He has continued to be available when we've gotten stuck on an issue where we've needed help. Without reservation I highly recommend Michael Brown's workshops and therapeutic services to anyone who is wanting to improve their relationship.

One star for initial seemingly genuine effort. The man seems to be, ironically, afraid of conflict. He is good at following the Gottman script and seems to be well versed in Gottman teachings and theory. However, critical thinking and flexibility to apply theory to individual nuances, knowing when to interject (pretty much never), following complicated dialogue, intuition, all seem to be lacking in our experience and observation. Extremely disappointed in the cost to benefit ratio of our counseling. Cost is very high, and you will get nearly zero opinion. This is after over 6 sessions. My spouse and I actually bonded more on how horrible the sessions were, after coming to terms with our disappointment and huge waste of money. Please use caution. When a couple turns to a counselor, they are already in a vulnerable position. Getting one and having no guidance or real sincere investment in helping can be further damaging. We are lucky we turned to humor and tried to bond over it.

Michael is a dynamic, thorough and caring traininer. Using the course material with my clients has taken my practice to a whole new level of effectiveness.

Michael presented an intensive 3 day training course for the 2nd level Gottman Couples Therapy training for therapists which I attended as a therapist. I was fortunate to have been able to spend time with Michael after class, over dinner. We shared our personal and professional values and our approach to helping others over dinner.First, Michael presented the course with enthusiasm, expert knowledge, and presentation skills. I thoroughly enjoyed my time learning and honing my skills during training. Second, Michael is a warm, kind, and caring person. He listens intently, is highly skilled, empathic, and articulate. I am very careful with whom I refer my patients or others to a for therapy. I believe my referrals are a reflection of who I am as a therapist. I would not hesitate to refer, with the highest recommendation, Michael Brown as a professional, non-judgmental, insightful and caring therapist. -Jack Abernathy, LPC, CPCS, CCMHC, NCC
