Dropped my rental off after driving down from Hilton Head. Location is very easy to get to (and back out of) and the gentleman working the counter was very personable. Such an easy experience, highly recommend Avis.

This is by far the best Avis in Saint Augustine! Always a great selection of clean cars. Rami and his crew Jimmy A&K are always great to work with and provide a great service with hospitality that sets Avis standards. You guys are awesome!

Fraudsters! I had a long-term rental and they've consistently overcharged me. The manager told me "I'm here to make as much money as possible!" and hung up on me. They need investigated. I've already contacted the Florida Attorney General and Dept Of Revenue.

I had made a reservation for a vehicle online, after paying for a taxi service to drive me here I was told I would not be able to rent the vehicle because I was only 24 even though online it allowed me to make the reservation and also Charged my credit card for the insurance for the vehicle. After asking why the site would have allowed me to get this far to begin with I was told it's my own problem and if I want to walk to another car rental place to start walking because it's 3 to 4 miles down the road. The site was quick to let me make the reservation and take the $ but now I have to wait 30 days for a refund and has to spend more $ for a taxi ride to go to my families home I was visiting in Florida. My advice is to make sure before you do anything with renting is you get a human being on the phone and not a robot to book a rental and make sure everything is set in stone before wasting your time or $

State Road 16 Avis and Budget are the same. Had really bad experience with Budget Rental at this Location.

Needed a rental for the week unexpectedly. Made a reservation online for 1 hour later. Went in 1/2 hour early and was in my rental car within 5 minutes of me entering the door. I could not be more pleased with the whole experience.

This guy is extremely rude and judgemental. Horrible customer service with an attitude. He's been there for a while please get rid of this guy. Avoid the avis on SR 16

This was the only Avis location that actually helped. Even calling corporate for 3 days i was told they could do nothing there system was down but they were still renti g call weird huh.Seems like thats the go to responce for AVIS . Honestly if you want a bad experience use AVIS.

We have used MANY rental companies in the past and NEVER had this kind of experience. Being a medical practitioner and dealing with difficult patients all day long, I know that there is NEVER a reason to yell at a customer. It doesn't matter the kind of day you are having. It doesn't matter the stress you are under, you talk to people in a respectful way and allow others to take over talking to someone if you feel that the person has frazzled you in some manner. During this rental, a male employee, Teddy, answered the phone and as I am informing him of the things we have noticed on the car, as a list, he starts yelling at me. That "didn't we have eyes to see the problems and common sense to come inside and ask about things before leaving (mind you, he gave us the keys and told us we could go without checking the car, first time ever)...then he starts yelling at me while I'm trying to explain to him that there were more than two things on my list, that he was uber focused on yelling me about. I ask to speak to the manager and he laughs at me and says that the manager will "take care of you" in a mocking voice. Again, reiterate, I have NEVER dealt with a person like this. His manager, Roy (unsure since he quickly said his name upon answering), was more helpful than the other gentleman, and confirmed our fears that the things on the vehicle were known issues, vs yelling at me and not allowing me to finish. Unsure if this is a franchise, or one company, but thanks to this experience we will share it with others who ask for advise not to use this location,and to watch out for this aggressive and obviously disgruntled employee ("Teddy").

DO NOT USE THIS AVIS!! Showed up to pick up the car which was scheduled for 8am. When I arrived no one was there except the managers dad who was hanging out inside. He kept telling me his son would be back in 5 minutes but 30 minutes went by and no one. When the manager finally arrived he was very smug with me and proceeded to blame me for not being there at 8am on the dot. I told him that in that customer service business it's his duty to be there for his customers and not leave the shop unattended. He could have called me to check in on my eta instead of just leaving. I told him this and then he continued to blame me the customer for being 15 minutes late!! He then told me that I wouldn't be getting a car and good luck. This car was prepaid a week in advance and planned for ahead of time. STAY AWAY or else you will be dealing with a completely careless, miserable and incompetent person.

My vehicle broke down 3.5 hours from home so I needed to rent a car. I booked a rental using the Avis App. We showed up at the rental office and it was locked; only a sign that said "be patient I am at another location." Why not post a phone number or a return time? At least 8 customers were in the lot and were angry. An hour later an agent arrived. The vehicle we were given was dirty inside and out. The entire rear wiper was missing! I realize it is hard to find employees these days but work with the customer and be available by phone. The Avis corporate line was basically no help as they supposedly can not contact the stores or the franchisees; terrible SOP. Avis never offered a discount for the inconvenience!

Avis lost my reservation even after I called and confirmed shortly before going to get the car. I spent 2 HOURS on the phone trying to make a new one, the guy behind the counter tried to be helpful but didn't have the access to rent out any of the cars he had available for one way. Every other car renter in the area wouldn't rent at all. Finally got it, but can't return it to any location closer than 1.5 hrs.
